Progressive Democrats of America - Chicago Chapter
About the Author
The Chicago chapter of Progressive Democrats of America is a grassroots group working to promote the progressive movement - a movement which is alive and growing rapidly in this country. Progressive Democrats of America, or PDA, is a national organization which unites disparate groups; Greens, Deans, Rainbow Push, Pink, the Peace Movement and Hip Hop under the banner of PDA representing a really diverse, multicultural community. PDA is working toward having a progressive caucus in every state of the country and works with Congress on a variety of issues including Iraq, healthcare, electoral reform, changing the media and more. PDA works for progressive candidates and wants to be the democratic wing of the Democratic party. At PDA we're growing a movement that will revolutionize progressive politics.

On January 27th, a multitude of antiwar protesters brought their message of , "Out Now", to the streets of Washington DC. Hundreds of thousands participated in a massive march around the Capital.
A diverse array of groups and individuals participated. Members of the Chicago Chapter of PDA joined other PDA chapters from around the country. PDA members handed out thousands of stickers to the crowds urging , "Stop Funding War" by signing the PDA online petition. United for Peace and Justice played a central role in organizing the march and many members held up signs that read: "Congress: Stand Up to Bush!". CodePink Women for Peace had a large contingent dressed in CodePink's color, bright pink. CodePink members held up signs that read: "Women Say Pull Out Now!". Groups representing teachers, students, veterans and their families, various churches, peace organizations and active GI's were among those that took part in the demonstration. Read More »
