You know , when John Edwards was still in the race, he used to challenge his audience to close their eyes and imagine who they want campaigning for the Democrats. So, I decided to do just that in answering the question of who I really do want answering that red phone at 3:00 AM and here's what I came up with. I thought about each of the four remaining serious presidential candidates in the race and thought about how they would respond if they recieved that crisis call. I based it on how each one has been campaigning so far.

The Obama Campaign just responded to the negative 3:00 AM ad put out by the Clinton Campaign. This is what Rapid Response is. This is what John Kerry should have done. Check out this new ad and let's keep the Obama Campaign war chest strong by making another donation.

Not only does Barack Obama need to have the funds to put out his message of Hope and Change , but he needs a little extra to respond to the attacks as well. That's what a ONE MILLION DONOR base is for and it makes me want to donate more. Here's the New Ad below .

Obama 2008 !

Because America Needs JUDGEMENT at 3:00 Am In The Morning.

WASHINGTON — Gen. George Casey, the Army's chief of staff, said Tuesday he has no reason to doubt Barack Obama's recent account by an Army captain that a rifle platoon in Afghanistan didn't have enough soldiers or weapons. But he questioned the assertion that the shortages prevented the troops from doing their job.

Testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Casey said the incident would have occurred in 2003 and 2004 following the Iraq invasion. He said he remembers it as a "difficult time" trying to rush armor and other equipment to the troops.

"I have no reason to doubt what it is the captain said," Casey said. "This was 2003 and 2004, almost four and a half years ago. We acknowledge and all worked together to correct the deficiencies that we saw in that period, not only in Afghanistan but in Iraq. It was a period that we worked our way through."

During a Democratic debate last week, Obama said an Army captain remembered leading a platoon in Afghanistan that was short on men, ammunition and humvees.

"They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief," Obama said.

Obama's account prompted denials from the Pentagon. In a letter to Obama, Sen. John Warner, R-Va., demanded the name and whereabouts of the captain so he could investigate the matter.

Obama campaign has declined to release the name of the captain, citing the soldier's privacy.

"I find that account pretty hard to imagine," said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman after the debate.

Casey said the Army has purposefully not tried to seek out the captain individually. But he did contact the platoon's brigade commander, which belonged to the 10th Mountain Division, and reviewed the division's readiness reports.

Casey said the brigade was manned at 100 percent during its entire deployment, but that it is possible a particular platoon within the brigade was not manned at the desired level.

"There may have been some spot shortages in spare parts and ammunition," he said. "But the commander said that there were never a shortage of ammunition that impacted the units ability to accomplish its mission."

Aw, there you are my friends . Listen, I have something that you might want to take a look at. Especially those of you in the so-called (Red & Purple) districts. We've been talking about this for the last few days, but here's a  perspective that might actually shake and wake ya. Click on the link and please watch this little video in the Diary on MyDD regarding those horrible , mean and vicious ads against the almighty general. You might just figure out who we really should be expressing our "displeasure" in and we might actually do something about it when we go to the polls.

Re: Move On Ad

From Daily Kos:

SNIP:

New York, NY (Rotters)- In a vote of 3,100,000 to 100,000 yesterday, the members of MoveOn.org voted overwhelmingly to place a second ad in the New York Times this weekend condemning the U.S. Congress for wasting time condemning them over their previous ad condemning General David Petraeus as "General Betray us". The ad implies that both houses of Congress, in particular the leadership, are "Ass-kissing little chickenshits", a term which has been used to refer to General Petraeus by his superiors in the past.

My Take: Those who are quick to dismiss Move On, I want you to remember back to the 2006 elections. Do you remember all those Campaign commercials ? The ones that called Republicans out on their Culture Of Corruption that were really effective ? Yeah. That was ...... MOVE ON.org!

Barack Obama has been vocal about this since the very beginning. Click on extended for the time line of his comments. Today , he reiterated his previous comments and expressed support for the protesters:

Senator Obama on the Jena 6 and the thousands who have driven into Louisiana today to demand justice:

Today I stand with those who stand for justice in Jena.  The thousands of Americans from every race and region who have descended on this small Louisiana town carry forth the legacy of all those who sat at lunch counters and took freedom rides to strike a blow against injustice wherever it may exist.  When a noose hangs from a schoolyard tree in the 21st century and young men are treated in a way that is not equal nor just, it is not just an offense to the people of Jena or to the African-American community, it is an offense to the ideals we hold as Americans.  I renew my call for the District Attorney to drop the excessive charges filed in this case, and I will continue my decades-long fight against injustice and division as President.

"When you reject every black invitation and every brown invitation you receive, is that a scheduling issue or is it a pattern?" he asked. "I don't believe anybody should be elected president of the United States if they think along the way they can ignore people of color. That's just not the America we live in."

The Republican National Party's New Slogan: ROFLMAO!

In the past, Democratic and Republican candidates have focused only on the states that they believe they can win – the Democrats focusing mainly on “blue” states, while the Republicans look mainly at the “red” states. There are several states that are considered swing states, and these usually get a lot of campaigning due to the fact that they might be swayed in the other direction. However, when it comes to red and blue states in general, the majority of the time the candidates stick to their states, and to their various colors.

However, recently Barack Obama has said that he is putting the red states into play – meaning that he is attempting to get the votes from the red states for his bid for president. He believes that by putting the red states into play, he is allowing himself the chance of reaching more of the black voters that he wants to vote for him. This is a move that few other candidates have focused on, because it is usually assumed that certain states will go for certain candidates.

However, Obama might have a point, and a chance of winning over some of these states. With a country that is losing support daily for the party that is currently in charge, the time might very well be ripe for a candidate to focus heavily on swinging other states around to his side. This could be the ticket that Obama is looking for to the White House in 2008.

I would like someone to explain to me what the healthcare problem is that needs so much attention. According to all published estimates somewhere near 50 million people don't have healthcare insurance and/or can't afford medical care. That's a little more than 10% of the population. When I need to see a doctor I need to make an appointment which usually has a 2 week lead time. If I need to see a specialist it is longer, around 4 weeks. We have approx 100 doctors total in my community, which has a population of approx. 100,000. We have 2 hospitals with a wait time of approx 2 hours in the emergency room. The medical system in my community is almost operating at maximum capacity. I'm not sure it could adequately handle an increased load of 10% more patients.... op ed:   Read More »

Yesterday, Sen. Obama went to Wall Street and urged the titans of industry to shape up their values.  Today, at the Tax Policy Institute, he's introducing a five-part plan for tax fairness for the middle class.  Its key elements are:

Create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $1,000 for America’s working familiesCreate a new universal mortgage interest credit that will benefit low and middle-income homeownersHonor America’s seniors by eliminating income taxes for those making less than $50,000 per yearSimplify tax filings so millions of Americans can do their taxes in less than 5 minutesEliminate special interest loopholes and tax breaks and crack down on international tax havens

And here's the speech he's delivering:  ( SOURCE )

Hillary really has no shame about healthcare. But I'll skip the name calling and just state facts, which is what I do even when I'm name calling. Michael Moore 'poo-pooed' Hillary about her healthcare goals saying she was in bed with the insurance companies. Many of you Hillary supporters called him names and said he was crazy....... Let's look at facts: Hillary wants healthcare for everyone in the United States. Health insurance for everyone today was characterized as similar to auto insurance. If you own a car insurance is mandatory. If you are living/breathing health insurance will be mandatory. Any time, especially in politics, if you have any doubts follow the money. It is public knowledge how much money has been contributed to all the candidates by insurance and other industries related to medical  care. Now for the numbers:   Read More »

This is amazing. You have to take the time out to watch this. I am still so excited about it I could just scream. I have never been so proud to be a patriotic American.  This is who we are and what we are really about.

You can move the little blue dial to 33:00 and watch from there , or if you have time , watch the whole thing. It's awesome and so American. Even if you don't live in the United States of America, you will wish you did after hearing this.

WEBCAST

I don't want Mandatory, I want Choice.

Hey Hillary,

I don't want mandatory HC because just like car insurance, people will not buy it if they cannot afford it even if you make it mandatory. 25% of California drivers do not have car insurance even though it's required by LAW. Why ? What part of "I don't have the money" do you not understand ?

Obamas plan gives me choices and makes it affordable for ALL Americans. Not just Mamas with babies. Not just Families. Not just Working Poor. But ALL Americans. He even adds extra money for me just in case I still can't afford it. The only thing mandatory is the Children because , as John Edwards said, "Children can't make a choice on Health Care"

This Is What I Want
