Rural Democrats
About the Author
Rural Dems can gather here to talk about subjects of interest to the group.
Who runs the country?
Who elects the candidate's?
Makes you think and question what the Head Honcho of the Times must be smoking, does it not?
I find it offensive that what was considered by many a prestigious New's Source like the TIMES MAGAZINE would stoop so low down the gutter to intentionally decieve American voters.
Boycott the Times Magazine.
The voters elect candidates, not Media.
If they had done the same for Hillary, they would still not be Wright, Even if they were Wright, which they are not.
The ayers around the Times Dropping that type of Bomb on the public stinks of foul smoke that causes gagging.
Do you think they are Wright in doing such a foul thing?
Peace Little Dine'

The delegate numbers, Obama 1850 Clinton 1696. Less than 200 between them. 154 pledge delegates to be exact.
Ah sorry Obama it takes 2,025 to win the nomination and you won't have that number going into the convention. So Obama pundits and sages can trash talk and whine all they want...boo hoo boo hoo. Senator Clinton is going all the way to the convention. Sorry NBC boys, Sister Hillary is not taking any baloney BS from you any time soon, and either am I.

Clinton presses on, urges supporters to ignore calls to quit

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Her voice raspy, her tone determined, Hillary Rodham Clinton urged her supporters on Thursday to ignore the political pundits who have declared her toast.
The former first lady raced into a long West Virginia-to-the-West Coast campaign day, declaring she would move forward with her presidential effort and insisting anew that she, not rival Barack Obama, would be the stronger Democratic candidate to face Republican John McCain in November.
At a rally under the dome of the West Virginia Capitol, Clinton dismissed calls for her to drop out as "deja vu all over again." She said she had faced similar pressure before going on to win in New Hampshire, Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania.
She made her case for pressing on, even as she thanked her supporters for doing the same.

ONE HUNDED AND FIFTY DELEGATES AT THE CONVENTION IN AUGUST, COMPLIMENTS FROM OUR PROUD PEOPLE, NATIVE AMERICA.
Round and round the little ball goes, with whom it will Stop? NO BODY KNOWS.
OBAMA OR CLINTON?
Just finished my home studie's school assignment's to,
sign in early on PB. I am happy to update all here on some wonderful music to all Native American ears and one lucky candidate.
Native American Delegates are 150 including two Super's.
Not 102, but a whopping 150.
Native America watching it's political Diet. Will not drink artificially over sweetened Koolaid. We preffer liquid Oxygen.
Native American superdelegates and their growing importance in the Democratic Party were profiled in the Native American Times.
The Democratic Party has no list of just Native American as delegates or superdelegates. It is estimated an unprecedented 150 Native American delegates from all over Indian Country. That prospect has Margaret Campbell, a State Representative and Ft. Peck tribal member, excited about the upcoming convention.
ââ¬Å"I want to get all together and meet as one,ââ¬Â Campbell said. She is also Vice Chairman of the Montana Democratic Party Executive Committee. The Poplar resident said this election cycle and the growing roles of Native Americans ââ¬Å"may be the pinnacle of the Native role, but it feels close to the excitement of the Bill Clinton campaign of 1992,ââ¬Â when so many Indian people became involved at many levels to help him get elected.
Activist Kalyn Free, a Choctaw who ran for Congress, said of the Party:
ââ¬Å"The Democratic Partyââ¬â¢s values are the values of Indian People: taking care of the elderly, the children, those less fortunate, giving a helping hand to those who need it the most. The Democratic Party is about ââ¬Å"Weââ¬Â not ââ¬Å"Me,ââ¬Â which is so in tune with our Indian Values. Key Democratic Party leaders like Chairman Dean know and appreciate this. The Democratic Party under his leadership has reached out in immeasurable ways to include Indians at all levels of the Party. Having Indian Delegates at the Convention will showcase that Indians are ââ¬Å"coming homeââ¬Â to a place where we are respected, valued, and needed most,ââ¬Â Free said to the Native American Times.

Five Facts about Democratic Delegates
http://www.delegatehub.com
FACT: Pledged delegates and automatic delegates are the same - they each count for ONE vote.
The Democratic Party chooses its delegates in three ways: 1) through primaries where millions vote; 2) through caucuses where thousands vote; and 3) it gives a role to elected leaders and other party activists in the process. Automatic delegates (commonly referred to as "super delegates") comprise the third category. Automatic delegates come from all 56 states and territories and consist of Democratic members of Congress, Democratic governors, distinguished party leaders (including former Democratic presidents, vice presidents, former House and Senate Democratic leaders and former DNC Chairs) and members of the Democratic National Committee. These DNC members are activists and grassroots supporters who are focused on helping Democrats win at all levels of elective office. There is no difference between pledged delegates and automatic delegates - they each count as one delegate in the final tally and no distinction is made between them at the convention.
FACT: Neither candidate can secure the nomination without automatic delegates.
The Obama campaign is trying to shut down the Democratic race before the rest of the country votes. There are still many states and territories that have not voted with almost 600 delegates at stake. These delegates represent more than 27% of the delegate votes needed for the nomination. It is mathematically impossible for Sen. Obama to secure the delegate votes needed for the nomination without a large number of automatic delegates. This is why, despite publicly attempting to discount the role of automatic delegates, the Obama campaign is aggressively courting - and pressuring - them behind the scenes. Read More »

Hillary's Election Day Remarks in Indianapolis, IN
May 6, 2008
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/speech/view/?id=7560
Thank you, Indiana. Thank you. Not too long ago, my opponent made a prediction. He said I would probably win Pennsylvania. He would win North Carolina, and Indiana would be the tie-breaker. Well, tonight we've come from behind, we’ve broken the tie, and thanks to you, it's full speed on to the White House.
This has been an extraordinary experience, traveling across Indiana, having an opportunity to meet so many of you. And for everyone who holds your breath at the gas pump, afraid to see how much it cost today, and for everyone working day and night because you want the world for your kids. For every young person with big dreams who deserves a world of opportunity, and for all those who aren't in the headlines but have always written America’s story, tonight is your victory right here. We grow steadily, and look upon your wisdom and guidance.
I hope one day to be serving as a public servant beside you. In the meantime I do all in my power to to become worthy with the proper education.
Our people are still for the most part deeply saddened that not much territory has been gained in the long standing issues of our GREAT People.
I pray the Great Spirit Grandfather you have not forgotten your humble begginings and what inspired you to serve.
I believe 2008 is the year of the Native American, the Great Grandfather Spirit has made it self evident, with the records being broken for participation of our people in the political Process.
I remind you all, you are being held accountable by our people as a nation. Do not drop the ball on us now. We are behind you, as Native Americans first of all whom are obligated to do for our people what is not the obligation of other's. We want no more scraps from the leftovers that drop from the table. We need not the dependence on other's but our own resiliency. All of Native America and I commend you, but there is much more to be tackled.
No more acceptance of worthless appologies, we need actions not words. The words go with the wind.
Remember where you came from and do not deviate from the goals to honor our ancestors by seeking justice and solutions.

Over the past few weeks, I have received some really stupid emails trying to get me to boycott the DNC financially over seating Florida and Michigan delegations to the Democratic convention. I believe this movement is a trojan horse operation being pushed by Republican trolls.
It smells like a Karl Rove type operation.
The financing of the Democratic National Committee should not be crippled as a result of the Clinton-Obama Presidential contest under any circumstances!
The current round of anti-McCain ads being aired by the Democratic National Committee is proof. They are excellent. As Democrats, we should all be helping to finance them if we want to win in November.
Here are a few suggestions.
If you receive an email urging a boycott of DNC donations, reply to the sender that they are helping the Republican Party and that you will be blocking all future emails from them. Then block them.
If you have a website that includes links to other sites, remove all links to sites that promote boycotting the DNC financially.
Make a small donation to the DNC instead of your favorite Presidential candidate this week. Show that you are a real Democrat!
Urge everyone on your email lists to read this post, copy it and send it to every Democrat they know.
Write the Presidential candidate you support and urge them to do a joint televised appeal for funds for the Democratic National Committee. A joint Clinton-Obama fundraising ad would certainly help strengthen the Democratic ticket in November at all levels regardless of eventual nominee.
Thanks,
Stephen Crockett

INDIANAPOLIS - Hillary Rodham Clinton stepped ahead of Barack Obama in the Indiana primary on Tuesday and the two rivals battled across North Carolina, the last big-delegate prizes left in their long race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The economy was the top issue by far in both states, according to interviews with voters as they left their polling places.
Returns from the first 10 percent of Indiana precincts showed Clinton with 58 percent of the vote, to 42 percent for Obama.

In another sign of Hillary's growing support across Oregon, the Clinton campaign today announced the endorsement of more than 50 local elected officials from across the Beaver State.
"I am grateful to have such strong support across all of Oregon," said Senator Hillary Clinton. "I am committed to talking about the issues that matter to Oregonians - from creating new 'green collar' jobs, to protecting our environment and standing up for Oregon's rural communities."
These endorsements come on the heels of the Clinton campaign's statewide grassroots push this weekend as ballots arrived. Over the weekend, the Clinton campaign held community canvasses in all 36 counties and hosted 88 Women for Hillary house parties to celebrate 88 years of women's suffrage.
"After eight years of George W. Bush, we need a President who can immediately start to clean up his mess and start solving problems again," said Eugene State Representative Sara Gelser. "I'm supporting Hillary because she is the candidate who is best suited to beat John McCain in the fall and bring our country back."
"I believe that Hillary Clinton is the best choice for all Oregonians," said Milwaukie Mayor Jim Bernard. "Throughout this primary, she has listened to Oregonians. Her Oregon Compact reflects the knowledge and experience that comes from decades in public service. And her proposal for two Oregon debates shows that she is not taking our state for granted. I couldn't be prouder to be supporting Hillary."
"I'm proud to be standing with Hillary," said Greenhorn Mayor Frances Villwock. "Hillary has been fighting for change for the past 35 years and I know she is our best candidate to take on the Republicans in November. Hillary is also the only candidate with a plan for truly universal healthcare."
"Hillary has the strength and experience to start solving the big challenges we face on day one," said Lincoln City Councilor Doug Holbrook. "She has reached out directly to Oregonians and talked about the issues that are important to us. Hillary has the strength and experience to put her plan for truly universal healthcare into action. Hillary isn't taking Oregon for granted and I'm proud to be supporting her."

Ya''at'eeh!
I will keep your name annonymous, however I pose the following questions to the blogger's here.
1.Please tell me if I have been offensive with my view on the primary vote and super delegate issue?
2.Does annonymous sender show to be a rational mature adult, because he did not agree with an immature youth?
3. Is the manner that he chose to castigate me as being unworthy a worthy manner, and appropriate action for an adult to take?
4. Are only rational inteligent adults here entitled to their oppinion being OK to dissagree, and that a youth earns loss of respect for not agreeing?
5. I have been honest and forthright, I am not angry, the sender is the one angry, am I in the wrong?
Does this sender deserve to be kept annonymous?
You Decide.

I have respect for your grandfather, but I've lost it for you. To call for the election to be over now is ridiculous. MILLIONS of people have not been
heard from yet. To silence them is deplorable.
How would you feel if someone told you that your
voice would not be heard because someone else decided they had heard enough? I will read your grandfathers posts, but I will no longer waste my time to read your one sided agenda.
PEACE, LOVE, AND HEALTH TO GRANDPA DINE.

With the issues that McHenry County has, it deserves a full time County board to handle these issues. The tax payers deserve someone in the office full time instead of only once a month. McHenry County has grown very substantally over the last few years its not just a farming county anymore it has a larger population and needs upgrades. We need better transportation for our tax payers to commute with. Also better roads to drive on, and safer intersections. Our schools need help and we need to make it better. We need better Government, not more. We need a government that works for us not against us. We need to bring back Indusrty to our county so we can get our tax payers back to work. And off unemployment. But you can't do this Part time. Our Veterans need help and they deserve it for protecting our rights to be free. But we need to step out of the shadows and work hard to protect what we have and bring a new beginning to McHenry County. I know I haven't metioned all our problems but its a start. And thats what we need someone to start addressing these issues and not ignore them.
2024.5+ now needed for nomination
On Saturday 3-May-08, Don Cazayoux won a special election in Louisiana in their 6th congressional district. When sworn-in, he becomes the newest Democrat in the US House and the 795th super-delegate.
There are now 4,048 delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and it will now take 2,024.5 [or more] delegates to get the nomination of our party for President of the United States.
And yes, there are 1/2 votes from some delegations outside the 50 states, so a nomination is POSSIBLE [but not likely] with less than 2025 delegates.
