This historic moment in our time as a nation calls for even MORE advocacy on all our parts. We must be more than ready to fight for the things we know need to be done and the people we know we must care about and care for.
The coming Democratic Presidency and Democratic Majority in Congress will allow us to make right those things that have been unjust and unfair to people in need. Intrigued? Read on... Read More »

This summer, President George W. Bush will smile while jaunting up the stairs to Air Force One - his laughable presidency all but over - with not a care in the world.
For 13 hours, he'll lie on a couch in the airplane, drink pomegranate-flavored water and watch reruns of Texas Rangers games from the glory days of Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco
Eventually, he'll land in Beijing, China, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He'll pose and smile for photos with great Chinese leaders.
You'll definitely read about it in the newspaper, and so will people just like you all over the world; and you'll probably feel pretty good when you do. Like a bottle of cheap gin the whole globe can pass around, the Olympics somehow make it okay to forget for a little while.
This is helpful for most of us, but somewhat unfortunate for the Tibetan people, whose struggle against occupation has gone on for nearly 60 years
In 1951, the Chinese government annexed Tibet and declared it part of China. In 1959, an uprising resulted in the expulsion of the Dalai Lama; since that time he has run a "government in exile" based in India and become a martyr for global political rights.
On March 10, in honor of the 49th anniversary of China's great experiment in the abuse of state sovereignty, Tibetan monks began to protest en masse the continued demonization of the Dalai Lama and China's efforts to ethnically cleanse Tibetans.
China, for its part, pledged to "resolutely crush" those people. Within days, it launched a fresh military campaign in the region. It kicked out journalists and declared no quarter on religious figures.
Anyway, a generation later, as a reward for Chinese progress and a concession that China has established itself as a modern global player, it gets to host the Olympics!
Irony in such high doses should be fatal.

Even though it probably won't happen, in a way I wish there was a re-vote in Florida and Michigan with only Clinton and Obama on the ballot. Lets see how much support both candidates really have at this point knowing Giuliani and Edwards are out of the race and see if Clinton beats Obama by narrower or even larger margins. Does anyone really think at this point Obama would lose either primary by more than 15%?
Take care with your divisive rhetoric! You think your the real Democrats but its that type of attitude that drives the real Democrats away.Obama pep rallys are lots of fun but they will not win the general! If Obama wins at the convention, and I guarantee you this is going to the convention ,he will need party unity to win in November. The kind of shrill voiced anti-establishment rhetoric you hear from the far left has been losing elections for the Democrats since 1972 at least, rivaled only by the assassins bullet for damaging the country and the party.Have a good but respectful debate, because in November if Hillarys supporters stay away ,Barack Obama will have no chance...

I said before that Mississippi would be the new "bellweather" state. Include the votes from Florida and Michigan and Clinton might still be ahead but it should be by a margin of no more than 25,000 votes (est.) but Obama will be up by about the same amount in total delegates as before the Texas primary.
Check those delegate totals on March 30th.
On to Philly!

Campaign officials for Hillary Clinton are expressing concern about the rules for Democratic caucuses in Texas.
After successfully leading the Niki Tsongas campaign to victory in the MA 05 congressional special election,Roger is now the Massachusetts coordinator for the Hillary Clinton Campaign....I,m still holding out to see if Biden comes out of Iowa well, but if things remain the same I see a great organisation developing around Hillary, one that can get us back the White House! In Massachusetts we have our primary on Feb 5 ,super duper Tuesday,I plan on settling on a candidate by then.I will probably sit out New Hampshire, since its in like a month,or less even,I.m thinking neither NH or Iowa are going to be relevant this year, due to the frontloading of the primary season...
Turnout in Boston city Council Elections Tuesday was Abbysmal, less than 20%,which cost the citys first Hispanic councilor his seat...Turnout was fairly heavy in white onclaves, but low in the minority neighborhoods, which puzzles me because Boston is A minority majority city, with more than 51 per cent of voters in the minority category...In nearby Lawrence, the most heavily hispanic populated city on the east coast,8 hispanic candidates in a field of 18 failed to win a majority in their city council election...it was a rainy day,but a vote takes a few minutes,is their a voter intimidation thing going on,is it the immigration thing? Not to mention the high rate of violent crime in inner city neighborhoods...I think we have to reach out and touch the cities to prevent a voter apathy thing which could result in a win for GOP,lets not take anything for granted...door to door neighbor to neighbor...
