This group is for the Liberals who like to have a laugh on the head of anything "rightwing"

I am at this time announcing the formation of 'BABY BOOMERS FOR OBAMA'. 'BABY BOOMERS FOR OBAMA' is open to all 'boomers',(born between 1946 and 1963), and is dedicated to not only working diligently to electing Barack Obama President of The United States of America in 2008, but to actively supporting his two-term Presidency, from 2009 to 2017.

All 'Boomers' are encouraged to go to the group site and join 'BABY BOOMERS FOR OBAMA' now and help to put America on the right course again!
I am announcing at this time the creation of Viet Nam Veterans for Obama. This organization is open to all Viet Nam Veterans and Viet Nam-Era Veterans, (1961 - 1975), as we work together to not only elect Barack Obama President of the United States of America in 2008, but also to support fervently his two-term presidency from 2009 to 2017. I urge all eligible veterans to go to our group listing, 'Viet Nam Veterans For Obama' now, and join in this historical campaign for change.
This summer, President George W. Bush will smile while jaunting up the stairs to Air Force One - his laughable presidency all but over - with not a care in the world.

For 13 hours, he'll lie on a couch in the airplane, drink pomegranate-flavored water and watch reruns of Texas Rangers games from the glory days of Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco

Eventually, he'll land in Beijing, China, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He'll pose and smile for photos with great Chinese leaders.

You'll definitely read about it in the newspaper, and so will people just like you all over the world; and you'll probably feel pretty good when you do. Like a bottle of cheap gin the whole globe can pass around, the Olympics somehow make it okay to forget for a little while.

This is helpful for most of us, but somewhat unfortunate for the Tibetan people, whose struggle against occupation has gone on for nearly 60 years

In 1951, the Chinese government annexed Tibet and declared it part of China. In 1959, an uprising resulted in the expulsion of the Dalai Lama; since that time he has run a "government in exile" based in India and become a martyr for global political rights.

On March 10, in honor of the 49th anniversary of China's great experiment in the abuse of state sovereignty, Tibetan monks began to protest en masse the continued demonization of the Dalai Lama and China's efforts to ethnically cleanse Tibetans.

China, for its part, pledged to "resolutely crush" those people. Within days, it launched a fresh military campaign in the region. It kicked out journalists and declared no quarter on religious figures.

Anyway, a generation later, as a reward for Chinese progress and a concession that China has established itself as a modern global player, it gets to host the Olympics!

Irony in such high doses should be fatal.

"A former DLC co-chair, Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, implemented a "Southern strategy" of his own to win over white conservatives in his 1992 bid for the White House and in his re-election. Clinton's tactics included denouncing the rap artist Sistah Souljah at an event sponsored by Jesse Jackson; presiding over the execution of mentally disabled Black man, Ricky Ray Rector; and staging a photo op at a Georgia penitentiary work gang of hundreds of Black men. Once in office, he presided over "anti-crime" legislation that left more African American men in prison than in college. He also collaborated with the Republican Congress to abolish the federal welfare system, something Ronald Reagan could never have gotten away with. At the same time, however, Clinton cultivated allies in the Black political establishment, which was ever more distant from the struggles that had propelled it to prominance."

Lee Sustar

"An Obama presidency would be a racial step forward in the sense that it shows that enough whites can and will look past race to make a Black, especially and exceptional Black, their leader.

It would not, however, show that they are willing to do the same for the millions of Blacks that cram Americas jails and prisons, suffer housing and job discrimination, and are trapped in failing public schools in America's poor, crime ridden inner cities. Their plight and how they are viewed and treated will remain the same after Obama takes office. A President Obama won't change that."

DISCLAIMER: After posting this I was not only accused of being a 'racist'but also falsely accused of calling Bill Clinton a racist. Above are TWO EXACT QUOTES from the article with the link included. There is resistence to any criticism of Bill and Hillary Clinton on this web site which results in slander, threats and intimidation tactics by Clinton supporters and deliberate LIES to defame anyone critical of the Clinton's. This is not Democratic. It is the worst form of political repression. I will no longer participate in this political FARCE!

First of all I want to say great post entitled 'Weakening American Power--the Republican Legacy'. I also feel that your other posts are excellent and fine examples of what blogging should really be about on a Democratic website. I would appreciate links to any sites you may have posted these on to add to my blogsite, with your permission.
Secondly, I understand your frustration and, as others have asked me to 'hang in here' I must ask you to do the same. You provide some rare insight that I feel this place desperately needs at this point of time as you are not alone in your frustration. The last thing I want to say is to keep in mind that people may read without responding. Oftentimes I read alot more posts than I respond to other than rating them. Same as I do when rating videos on you tube. I watch and respond when I feel is necessary. Keep up the good work. I rated all of your posts 'high fives'!

Are Gay marriage and Gay unions a matter of choice? State and federal legislators and courts believe so. A proposal to amend the Pennsylvania Consttution to ban gay marriages and civil unions recieved approval from a Senate committee as supporters seek to revive an efort that stalled in 2006. "Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men willing to be co workers with God, and without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation. We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democray and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity." http://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html

The following is an analysis of the Bush Administration and its deficit spending as of June 2003. I am looking for more recent information. In the meantime, I have a question. How wold increased deficit spending under a Democratic administration be effective in dealing with a steepening recession and the problem of stagflation? http://www.ctj.org/html/debt0603.htm

Even though it probably won't happen, in a way I wish there was a re-vote in Florida and Michigan with only Clinton and Obama on the ballot. Lets see how much support both candidates really have at this point knowing Giuliani and Edwards are out of the race and see if Clinton beats Obama by narrower or even larger margins. Does anyone really think at this point Obama would lose either primary by more than 15%?

This is in response to a post today by Vidya. Since writer Andrew Walden was cited I have my own article by Walden to share. I have said before that when the Clinton's make allegations concerning Obama which concern possible corruption that they seem to have some of the same ties. I have a concern with how much of the information concerning Obama comes from conservative websites and right-wing pundits, but this doesnt seem to bother Clinton supporters who use this information for political convenience only to dismiss the same source when this information gets turned back around. Well, here we go again.

As you read past the usual Muslim/Rezko connections, there is something here that Clinton supporters are ignoring or not mentioning and this has to do with former Hawaii Governor John Waihee and Bill Clinton's money backers in his 1992 bid for the White House. This is documented in the PBS Frontline special from 1997 'The Fixers'.

This is a response to posts in my latest blog. Recent Gallup study says 28% of Clinton voters will vote McCain if Obama in the nominee and 19% of Obama supporters will vote McCain if Clinton is on the ticket.

CNN report also quotes Clinton as saying pledged delegates are up for grabs. If this is so then there need be no more belly-aching about Kennedy, Dean, and Kerry.

Its now win at all course as sink-throwing and scare-mongering has created only gain for McCain in most recent polls and even Harry Reid is ready to step in.

Obama supporters. Keep in mind that when Clinton supporters accuse you of being a "Communist" a"troll" or a 'Repo' round it off and do the math. Almost 1 in 3 will be voting McCain in November.

Clinton needs to win remaining primaries by est. 65 % to catch Obama in pledged delegates and North Carolina alone will make that an impossibility.

Clinton now has to outright STEAL and BRIBE in order to win at all cost. Even if this party goes down in flames.

Know your history and deal with the reality that the Old Democratic Party has resurrected itself and the 'Rebels' reverting to its true roots, steeped in 'secessionism'. Just ask Robert Byrd who he endorses.

Last night debate showed the world that we can have desagreements as Democrats and still be civil I can't understand why these two people are running for the nomination and they treat each other than we do on this site about them. People we need to pick up where they left off last night. This is the most important election of most of our life, we have to get it right. Let the truth argued the point and if you are not sure about something please don't post it.
