The 2 Camp Group
About the Author
This is a group of democrats, some Hillary supporters others Obama supporters. We agree that we support different candiates but agree to communicate with civility. We will restrain ourselves from making personal attacks on each other or either candidate. This is a group to ensure the democrats win in 2008

I don't watch Fox, but was sent this message to text 36288 and in message write { B } for Obama, because their poll has 70% for McCain "winning" the debate.
I very strongely do not like Fox News.
Talking about Carl Rove stating Baracks projected win in electoral votes.
Is this a call to action for those Republicans who are thinking of sitting out the election? A left handed, so to speak, warning that defeat is imminent?
I am trying to figure why he has been making these pronouncements. It can't be for the good.   Read More »

If you have clips of Palin demonstrating how unprepared she is post them
Today is a very bad day, if you read the board that fact is pretty obvious. What you may not realize this is not a crisis, it is much more than that. What is being destroyed here can not be rebuilt, even when the market does recover it will not be the same. Everyone thinks this just happened but that is not the case. This is the collapse of the house of cards we built to hide us from the real truth. Over the last few years maybe 10 we have seen the dramatic destruction of what made our country great. In the late 1930's and for decades after we were a industrial super power, so much so that we were able to manufacture enough material to win a World War. Speaking of WWII besides the manufacturing ability, it is often called the greatest generation ever. Why is that a sense of duty, courage, integrity, and the ability to sacrifice personally for the greater good.

In the 80's into the 90's we let our industrial base deplete, (NAFTA and China Favorite Nation)
We then lost our integrity with Enron and WorldCom, of course compounded by current events.
We our imports of oil at record highs we are more vulunable to countries that hate us, empowering them to attack. Both by funding them and by displaying our weakness in plain site!
With Katrina Bush let the world see us as a third world country as American's walked for days amongst their dead and dying as the country proved feeble.
Now with the collapse of our banking system and wall street we are no longer able to be the beacon of light to the world.

No longer can we say be like us, we have integrity, we have a sense of community, we are the masters of free trade. Perception effects everything, you can not undo this damage. Future generations will not know the America we knew.

Keep you eye on the big picture, people lost their savings today.

The bailout would of cost us 700 billion, we lost 1.2 TRILLION today in the market, unlike the 700 Billion that would of been a loan, that 1.2 TRILLION is just gone, no longer exists!!
So McCain and Obama are only Senators so they do not have real executive experience, they do not have the responsibility and pressure of running a huge state like hmmmm Alaska. Never mind that there are more people in NYC then the entire state. This lack of responsibility is what allows them to campaign while still holding office. So answer me this, if being governor of Alaska is so much work that being it for only two years, not in National politics at all, then who is holding down the fort while Palin campaigns?

Could it be that the oil companies?
I used to post on the board here a lot, I had to leave a couple months ago, all the stupid arguing was driving me nuts and most of the people that were still arguing on here, for candidates that had already ended their campaigns clearly were not reflecting the views of the party as a whole. After the debate the other night I decided to see how nuts this place would be, what a surprise it was to see really cool stuff on this board again with little to no arguing. I looked up some of the people that were real negative, at least the ones I remembered, only to see their profiles gone. This really seems like a good democratic board now. Lots of new profiles I had not seen before but thats good. A new look and feel too.

The only thing is it does seem like there is a little less activity but thats OK, quality of quantity. I know there is not much to this post but just wanted to note the changes
So the latest news is they are hoping to have a vote tomorrow or Tuesday. Earlier this weekend the talk was to have it before the foreign markets open tonight. There was some talk of having this down last weekend. When I first heard of the bailout, seeing all the issues on wall street and in the market it made lots of sense to me. But now I have heard it must be done by . . . several times, the time and date came and went and yet the DOW has not been crushed yet. I still guess we need to do something, but is it really as bad as we were led to believe?

How much of this is politics? There is little doubt that we are in a slow down and the next Congress and President will take office in the middle of a recession, but do you think by making such a big deal of it now they are able to say it happened on the other guys watch, being able to deflect blame?
The South East is still in a significant drought, Atlanta especially. China besides investing heavily in our economy is emerging as a serious threat to our country. Spying on us close to cold war levels. Let's talk about industrializing our nation again, NAFTA takes a lot of the blame for jobs moving over sees, but I see the phrase "made in China" over and over these days. Many of our tech jobs are moving to India. We have become a Nation of buyers, with lots of service industries helping us buy things. We are living on our accumulated wealth hoping it never runs out. We are now the Nation of Paris Hilton, living on the wealth and efforts of those who came before us. The election will not solve most of this. One person can not solve this no matter who he is. We need to get involved and stop the bleeding.

One plan I like is the Pickens plan, we are sending way to much money on foreign oil. We also need to think about putting some tariffs on goods coming from China, maybe remove some of that favorite nation status we have been giving them.

Of course this will take many years but we need to start now
What the heck? Separation of church and state mean anything to anyone. If they start preaching for McCain then they should loose their tax exempt status, PAC's are taxable organizations!!
I received a call from a friend who was there and felt he was a part of history in the making. The enthusiasm for the campaign for overwhelming.
His only downer came in the form of banners from an airplane touting "McCain/Palin". He thought this was in very bad taste.
I told him ist was the only way they could be seen by such a large crowd of voters.
We had a visit from IKE here this past weekend the town I grew up, the town were a great deal of my childhood friends still live and the town which holds so many memories of my youth is devastated. I just got lights back and I got the internet back a few minutes ago it is hard to see my friends in such a state of distress I guess it never occurred to me that one day when I responded to the TXSERT it would be because those so close to my life would be in such a disaster.

Peace to you and yours
So now the Republican partys, Rick Davis on Fox News Sunday, says "she[Palin} will be made available to programs like this when and if we deem it nessesary".
So she may never be asked the same questions in the one on one interview process all the others have availed themselves of.

Dear Xxxxxxxx,

Learn more about Camp Obama My name is Juan Sepulveda and I'm the new State Director for the Obama campaign here in Texas.

I want to tell you about an exciting program we're running here called Camp Obama.

During this two-day session, people like you will be taking their support for this movement to the next level by learning the organizing principles that this campaign and our movement for change are built on.

Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country.

Find out more about this exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in this movement for change.

By participating in Camp Obama, you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up.

That experience transformed Barack's life and made him who he is today.

Camp Obama is your chance to put those very same principles into action -- to win this election and to strengthen democracy in communities around the country.

After completing the program, you'll be required to work as a Deputy Field Organizer in a battleground state where you'll be organizing supporters and helping lead our grassroots Get Out The Vote operation.

Apply for a spot at a Camp Obama near you and become a leader in our movement for change:

http://tx.barackobama.com/CampObamaTX

This campaign relies on the passion and enthusiasm of ordinary supporters, but it needs leaders who can organize those supporters and turn their enthusiasm into votes on Election Day.

Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement.

Thanks,

Juan

Obama for America Dear Xxxxxxx --

I wanted to get in touch with you again about the upcoming Camp Obama sessions we're holding in Texas.

As you might have heard, John McCain and his Republican surrogates used their convention to attack Barack and disparage his work as a community organizer.

What they don't get is that ordinary people working together built this movement for change and will lead our campaign to victory in November.

That's why we've had such an amazing response to our Camp Obama sessions so far.

Supporters of all ages and backgrounds, some new to politics and some seasoned veterans, have expressed tremendous enthusiasm for the opportunity to learn the basic organizing principles of this movement and become Deputy Field Organizers in battleground states.

We can't do this without you, and there is still time to sign up. Learn more and apply for a Camp Obama session now.

Thanks,

Steve
