ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Sarah and Todd Palin issued the following statement regarding today's Reuters story:
"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."

McCain, Obama agree: Don't use Palin's pregnant daughter as political fodder

Obamas words:
"There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us. I'm hope I'm as clear as I can be. In case I'm not, let me repeat: We don't go after people's families. We don't get them involved in politics. It's not appropriate and it's not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. If I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign who's involved in something like that, they'd be fired."

"I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people's families are off limits," Obama declared after attending a Labor Day picnic here. "People's children are especially off limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories."
He continued, "You know, my mother had me when she was 18. How family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn't be the topic of our politics. I hope that anybody who's supported me understands that's off limits."

HERE ARE SOME OF THE COMMENTS I HAVE JUST READ BY THE BRILLIANT MINDS ON PB. A NEW LOW. THIS SITE IS NOT WORTH READING ANYMORE. WHAT A GREAT RESULT TO YOUR CENSORSHIP AND BANNING. I HOPE "NEW" DEMOCRATS THAT YOU ALL ARE REQRUITING DO NOT VISIT THIS SITE - IT WOULD MAKE ANYONE CRINGE.
We learned that Sarah Falin has a 4 months baby with down syndrome. Would you hire Sarah Falin as an ER/Internsive care doctor of a large hospital? You would be faced with the choice of releasing her to go take care of her son leaving over 50 critically ill patients with no help.
They are saying they think her 4 month old is the daughter's as well. Palin did not announce her pregnancy to her staff until she was 7 months along. Then the next month she "prematurely" gave birth.
With a mother who wants to give so little attention to a poor sick child, how could we not have expected this. The young girl would be on her own raising herself form early. If Palin is going to drop off babies for the daughter to raise while she chases her dreams, why not have one for herself...?
I am trashing Palin here if anyone because as mother who has had to deal with this issue and a plethora of others, I find it hard to believe she is showing good judgment by accepting this nomination when your teenage daughter is going to need you now more than ever. Moreover, she has a four month with down syndrome.
I am also concerned about Palin's older children and her husband.
No one has mentioned it that I know of, but what hit me really hard was that through-out Palin's acceptance speech, while her family stood by watching, it was the oldest daughter that held the 4 month old THE WHOLE TIME.
I believe that the oldest daughter is the one who most of the responsibility has fallen on for raising the younger children.'
Dad is to much of a man's man and has stated that he isn't going to be the "house mom" (para)
The Palin's are also uneducated and don't know how to use birth control. If they are against condoms, then just using "self control" is not something that they are capable of either.
On the front burner of feminism, has been "taking responsibility" for our bodies and how to stop bringing unwanted, or untimely children into the world that we cannot or don't want to REALLY care for.
This was/is an inconvenient child

Is she a gamble? Definitely. But so is Barack Obama, who has himself dismissed experience as a prerequisite for leadership, despite his spot atop the Democratic ticket.
At this point, Palin is so unknown, there's no way to make a clear judgment about her. But listening to Obama supporters take to the airwaves to shriek with indignation about her lack of experience is just a little too rich. Where were they when Obama, two years into the Senate, announced his candidacy for president?
One Obama supporter and political operative blogged, "In picking an unknown, untested half-a-term governor from Alaska . . . John McCain is following in a long line of reckless men who have rolled the dice for a beauty queen."
Do we really have to do this again?
No sooner was Hillary Rodham Clinton out of the race, and a new woman is in the cross hairs.

Regardless of what any of us feel about any of the candidates of either party, please remember that we are all people and Americans ... please be respectful. I cannot believe some of the posts and comments today. Have some respect. Obama, Biden, McCain and Palin are all honorable people who have chosen to speak for us. Fight about the issues.
A past PB blogger who was banned for no good reason would like to share this with the PB blog:
More misogyny on the DNC PB website
http://www.democrats.org/page/community ... adboy/CgYm
I find this blog despicable and insulting to all women. If you're ugly, you get attacked for not being pretty enough. If you're pretty, then you couldn't possibly have a brain. WTF?
And the worst part is / Lincoln Park Dem and Thee Shopman and all the others are participating in it all over again. Before the nomination, it was Hillary bashing. Now it will be bashing McCain's VP -- Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK), who, BTW, actually has had to run a government, whereas neither Obama or Biden have. She stook up for the citizens of Alaska against the oil companies and negotiated a $1200/month check for each qualified Alaskan citizen. She also is promoting a natural gas pipeline to the lower 48 states, which could, at least temporarily, supplant our need for foreign oil and convert us from gasoline to natural gas-powered vehicles.
And did I mention, BTW, that GOVERNOR Sarah Palin is the only one on either side with executive experience?
Not exactly the "new kind of politics" that Obama claims to espouse. Once again, he is either a hypocrite and encourages and supports this behavior behind the scenes while acting like he wants to remain above all of this in public. OR, he is a weak leader who cannot influence his followers to take his example. Either way, he is a loser, and so are these guys on PB.

I am honored to be a proud supporter of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
