John McCain has missed more US Senate votes than he has cast. Missed 353 Cast 231 By comparison Barack Obama Missed 245 Cast 339 We all know that McCain, Obama and Clinton have high percentages of missed votes due to political campaigning. But McCain wrapped up the Republican nomination long ago and has missed more votes than anyone in the Senate. 60.4% How can any true Democrat vote for a man who has a larger percentage of votes missed than he has cast and who also has a ZERO voting record on Civil Rights? Time will tell.
We cannot wait for Hillary Clinton to squeeze every last ounce of publicity out ogf this primary by her childish waiting game. Any candidate who cannot be forthright enough to conceed when they have lost is no longer worth the consideration of this Party. The New York delegation is trying to get her to face reality but she does not seem able to make the connection between what she wants and what is. Again a case of What "is" means I guess. We have 5 months and a very organized political apparatus with which to register, educate and convince voters that Americas Future is at stake. Let Hillary and her Die hards sit out the race fuming about the loss. We need to get more involved jump in and help formulate the future. Let's leave Hillary to history and make a new Future free from back biting, irresponsible comments, unfounded rumors and down right stupid rehetoric. "When People Lead, Leaders Will Follow"
Who has the time to recount all the negative things she said about Obama. Can't be elected, not experienced enough, "He should be ashamed," bad judgement etc. etc. I'm glad for what she said today but........... Where exactly is the truth where she is concerned. Look for yourself, her comments are on the record. You don't have to answer publicly but in your head and heart you know what I'm saying has a credible foundation. I have said over and over and it's recorded on this blog that, even though I don't like her I will work and vote for her if she is the candidate, Hillary supporters on the other hand, well you all know what we have all read here. Your comments won't change that fact. Go to my home page and look through my posts. Then go to Jenniforhillary, sandi, etc. So if we are to move forward, let's move forward in truth not in a haze of Team Spirit. I realize that most Democrates want healing. There are very hurt feelings and down right anger and hate on both sides. History will record the truth of this years elections no matter what we believe or want history to say.
Dear St. Chad, I am praying to you on behalf of the poor people of Florida. Well Sir it happened again, yup, the election. This time it's not so bad. Last time St. Chad, they got all hung up over which column to vote in and Patrick Buchannan that old NeoCon actually got lots of votes in a very Jewish area, Nu, So, how could this be. That time the entire country lost because of the screw up. Now it's not so bad. It seems that the Florida Democrats in the State house voted along with the Republicans and they moved their primary up so far it violated the DNC Rules. See it's not so bad, now the only thing to worry about is the destruction of the Democratic Party. They blame everyone but themselves for this mess. Please St. Chad, help these people realize that Rules are the way civilized organizations keep order and fairness for all the members. Please help them to see the light that the rest of America's Democrats are watching and waiting! Photobucket
What would Hillary Do?

Before you make rash declarations,

Before you cut off your nose to spite your face,

Before you kick and scream and hold your breath till you turn RED.

Think, What Would Hillary Do?

Hillary would not leave the Democratic Party,

She would not chase other democrats away,

Hillary would reach out to hug us,

So we could win for America yet another day.
This summer, President George W. Bush will smile while jaunting up the stairs to Air Force One - his laughable presidency all but over - with not a care in the world.

For 13 hours, he'll lie on a couch in the airplane, drink pomegranate-flavored water and watch reruns of Texas Rangers games from the glory days of Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco

Eventually, he'll land in Beijing, China, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He'll pose and smile for photos with great Chinese leaders.

You'll definitely read about it in the newspaper, and so will people just like you all over the world; and you'll probably feel pretty good when you do. Like a bottle of cheap gin the whole globe can pass around, the Olympics somehow make it okay to forget for a little while.

This is helpful for most of us, but somewhat unfortunate for the Tibetan people, whose struggle against occupation has gone on for nearly 60 years

In 1951, the Chinese government annexed Tibet and declared it part of China. In 1959, an uprising resulted in the expulsion of the Dalai Lama; since that time he has run a "government in exile" based in India and become a martyr for global political rights.

On March 10, in honor of the 49th anniversary of China's great experiment in the abuse of state sovereignty, Tibetan monks began to protest en masse the continued demonization of the Dalai Lama and China's efforts to ethnically cleanse Tibetans.

China, for its part, pledged to "resolutely crush" those people. Within days, it launched a fresh military campaign in the region. It kicked out journalists and declared no quarter on religious figures.

Anyway, a generation later, as a reward for Chinese progress and a concession that China has established itself as a modern global player, it gets to host the Olympics!

Irony in such high doses should be fatal.
First of all I want to say great post entitled 'Weakening American Power--the Republican Legacy'. I also feel that your other posts are excellent and fine examples of what blogging should really be about on a Democratic website. I would appreciate links to any sites you may have posted these on to add to my blogsite, with your permission.
Secondly, I understand your frustration and, as others have asked me to 'hang in here' I must ask you to do the same. You provide some rare insight that I feel this place desperately needs at this point of time as you are not alone in your frustration. The last thing I want to say is to keep in mind that people may read without responding. Oftentimes I read alot more posts than I respond to other than rating them. Same as I do when rating videos on you tube. I watch and respond when I feel is necessary. Keep up the good work. I rated all of your posts 'high fives'!

The following is an analysis of the Bush Administration and its deficit spending as of June 2003. I am looking for more recent information. In the meantime, I have a question. How wold increased deficit spending under a Democratic administration be effective in dealing with a steepening recession and the problem of stagflation? http://www.ctj.org/html/debt0603.htm

Even though it probably won't happen, in a way I wish there was a re-vote in Florida and Michigan with only Clinton and Obama on the ballot. Lets see how much support both candidates really have at this point knowing Giuliani and Edwards are out of the race and see if Clinton beats Obama by narrower or even larger margins. Does anyone really think at this point Obama would lose either primary by more than 15%?
