Russia vs. USA - A Power Alignment!

Very interesting article coming up from the opinion of a reader who is concerning about the situation in the Caucus. It seems to me finally the American opinion is taking conscientious about GEOPOLITICS and comprehends what the old fashion of politics of the 20th century is gone!

And for the sake and PEACE in this small rock called PLANET a new alignment of POWER will be welcomed soon rather than later.

Article published today in USA TODAY page 12A. on August 19, 2008

Superpowers flex muscle, but at what cost?

Earl Beal - Terre Haute, Ind.

In the power politics of international relations, superpower behavior is governed by the concept of geopolitical spheres of influence. When a superpower nation meddles in the internal affairs of another and attempts to exert undue political or economic influence in its perceived sphere, that's when trouble starts.

The trouble started when President Bush pressured Poland and the Czech Republic to establish a missile-defense system in their territories. This policy was then, and continues to be, seen by some as a direct threat to Russia, not to mention Bush's push for democratic reforms in former Soviet Republics still considered vital to Russia's national security interests.

Also, if Russia placed ballistic missiles in Cuba and/or Venezuela, this would constitute a direct threat to the U.S. Washington's hue and cry over such a move would be surpassed only by Bush's hypocrisy when he and his Pentagon took the "dramatic," "brutal" and "disproportionate" measure of invading a sovereign Iraq in 2003. As a result, what do we have?

The hemorrhaging of our national treasure in terms of lives lost.

Thousands of courageous people wounded.

A cost of more than $10 billion a month to finance this fiasco.

5 million Iraqi refugees scattered and without homes.

Percy H Florez

Gas Prices High....Unveiled Car Run's on Water

A Japanese venture company, Genepax, has unveiled a car on that runs on water. All it requires is a litre of water. In fact, any kind of water to be exact, whether its river, rain, sea water, or even Japanese tea. Its an electric powered car that runs solely on hydrogen dioxide.
"The main characteristic of this car is that no external input is needed. The car will continue to run as long as you have a bottle of water inside for you to add from time to time," said Kiyoshi Hirasawa, Chief Executive Officer of Genepax, after he proudly announced the company's invention.
Once water is poured into the water tank at the back of the car, the newly invented energy generator takes out the hydrogen from the water, releases electrons and finally generates electrical power.
"We highly recommend our system since it does not require you to build up an infrastructure to recharge your batteries, which is usually the case for most electric cars," said Hirasawa, who is hoping to advertise the car in time for the upcoming G8 Summit in Hokkaido, Japan.

WA State democratic convention help

I am trying to figure out what the role is of the alternates that were elected at the county caucus. I know that they went from the county to the Legislative district caucus. I know at the LD caucus the alternates helped elected the delegates/alternates for the NATIONAL convention. I know that the delegates and alternates from the county caucus are supposed to attend the State Convention.

I think the role of the alternates at this point is non existent. I've read about the election process at the state convention and it reads like those that were elected at the LD to go onto national will be the delegates that vote on the platforms and elect the AT LARGE delegates to go onto the National Convention.

Therefore I can't for the life of me figure out why any of the delegates and alternates that were elected at the county level should be going to the state convention.

Does anyone know anything that can help?

Thanks

She knows she can’t but she appealed to subterfuges!

Hillary Clinton knows the results in PA (less than 10 points) represent the end of her aspirations, she knows it is enough, but she appealed to subterfuges and antidemocratic tactics to get the nomination.

Mathematically is literally impossible win the nomination or finish at least as a front runner.

Then she appealed to the division of the party, she appealed to antidemocratic solutions, like ignore the VOTE OF THE MAJORITY!

Wow sound hard but it is true:

First at all, she said, the votes of MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA should be counted. But she only talks like that because she knew that count give her the advantage, but she do not deserve this advantage, at least in that way, because that collide with the rules of the party. The same rules she previously accepts. (That FLIP â€" FLOP is nothing estrange on her)

She knows keep running her campaign give some advantage to the Republican Party and his candidate in the general election. May be she want this because is clear that the Republicans al helping her in this primaries. (Pennsylvania exit poll show a lot of republican voting for her â€" Why? â€" Simple â€" actually the scenario of confrontantion between democratc gives McCain some advantage facing the general election)

Them this is the most important key:
Hillary knows she couldn’t finish these primaries as a front runner â€" Them she appealed to the decisions of the SUPER DELEGATES â€" WHY? - Because in her mind she really do not WANT to respect the VOTE of the majority of the people who participate in this primaries â€" Yes â€" HER EXPECTATION is that, the SUPER DELEGATES REVERSE THE DECISION OF THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION giving HER THE NOMINATION â€" no matter if she finish trailing the front runner ho has and earn THE VOTE OF THE MAJORITY.

This is HER REAL INTENTION OF HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON!
This is the DEMOCRACY IN WHAT SHE BELIEVE!

Yes Hillary Rodham Clinton, think the VOTE of the majority is NOT IMPORTANT â€" and if the SUPER DELEGATES decide GO AGAINST the VOTE of the majority of the people and give her THE NOMINATION â€" that is OK for her! After all her primary intention is get the White House at any cost in any way.

That is why she still and persist in this race â€" BECAUSE SHE DO NOT WANT to recognize the VOTE of the MAJORITY.

And that claim about the VOTES IN MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA is only part of her HYPOCRISY. And all of this rhetoric’s is part of HER GAME OF BUYING VOTES.

Welcome Saint Father Benedict XVI – Bienvenido Santo Padre Benedict XVI

Welcome to the land of contradiction and opportunities.
I just remember when I was a young man, long time ago your predecessor the Saint Father John Paul II and his apostolic visit to my lovely Venezuela, I just remember the crow and the cheer of the people and the enthusiasm of the young people like me, but when the first day come up I couldn’t forget when he shake my hand and kiss my face, when he went down from the pulpit and talk directly and frankly with us, that was one of the most important momentum of my live. I just remember his words and his sorrows about the people who suffer and the injustices; I just remember his uncommitted love for the kids and young people.

Just days ago, I listening and washing TV when I see a commercial about your visit and some kind of specific instructions to go in to the one of your massive mass in Washington DC. Yes, I just being astonishing when I hear this condition for security reason: “You have to show some kind of Government ID or Federal ID” in A clear allusion to prevent the assistance of thousands of people who live in this country “UNDOCUMENTED” no because they want. NO Saint Father, because the system is special designed to keep this people in the dark, in the shadow. Yes Saint Father the majority of this people are Hispanic, Catholic people who can be comforted by your words and prayers. Thousand of families are banned with these decisions, special designed for this people. Of course the security of the Saint father when he visit any country it is a priority and main concern of the governments, as a part of this security when I was young man I know this action is an excess, It is well know in the government spheres, if you want to secure an bring security to the Saint Father, first at all, check for arms of any king of explosives, I see this before and I don’t understands why and ID become an impediment to see an listen the spiritual leader of million of Catholics around the word special when they are Hispanic the most affected community for this decision. I don think so this is the recommendations Of the Vatican.

Saint Father, as I said before, welcome to the land of contradiction and opportunities.

This word means the same in any language and any part of the world: “FOOTBALL” except this country where this world means another sport. SOCCER = FOOTBALL in this country.

This country of immigrants and part of these contradictions is those new immigrants are no longer welcomed.

This is a country who suffer the most terrible act of terrorism, and now, security is one of the main concern and has to be one of the main concern of any government in the future, but when this measure trespass the line of the reasonable and invade the privacy and become always aggressive, intrusive, and racist. That policy becomes inconsistent and ineffective.

A debate with McCain

again... been talking with a lot of people and just started this conversation...any thoughts anyone?

ME:

I think Obama v. McCain will be focused on McCain avoiding racist remarks and a lot of smiling from Obama.

I think Obama can probably beat McCain as a result.

I think Clinton v. McCain will be focused on McCain's constant aggression trying to trip Clinton up and Clinton effectively pointing out all the flaws in McCain's logic and rhetoric.

I think Clinton can probably beat McCain as a result.

Next Round of Caucus Help

So the next batch of the democratic Caucus is coming up this weekend...April 5th to be exact. Anyone who was elected a delegate in the 40th and 42nd Legislative District (which is essentially all of Whatcom Co) are supposed to gather, sign in, say who they wish to vote for, listen to each other try to get elected a delegate for the next convention/caucus, have an opportunity to change their vote, and then listen to Platform Issues for the Democratic Party.

Now I'm writing this post because I'm a democrat and a delegate.

When I caucused in Feb, and was chosen to be a delegate I heard a lot of reasons why I should vote for Obama and why I should vote for Clinton. When the delegates were elected we were told it is our job as delegates to represent the people that elected us.

Here's my dellemia:

I heard: Vote for Obama, the newest poll says he can beat McCain. Vote for Obama, he says he will do things differently and we need something different. Vote for Obama, he has always been against the war. Vote for Obama, he cares about America and equality. Vote for Obama, he'll bring the troops home. Vote for Obama, he believes in fair politics. Vote for Obama, he believes in giving the American people the power to stand up for themselves. Vote for Obama, he won't make you pay for healthcare you can't afford.

I also heard: Vote for Clinton, she has the experience. Vote for Clinton, she does what she says she'll do. Vote for Clinton, she knows how to deal with world leaders and right now we need that. Vote for Clinton, we'll get 16 years of democrats in the white house, 8 Clinton, 8 Obama. Vote for Clinton, she'll fight for equal rights. Vote for Clinton, she believes in woman's rights. Vote for Clinton, she'll give everyone health care. Vote for Clinton, it takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush.

Now my problem is... all the reasons I was given to be a delegate for a candidate have new arguments now. A lot has happened in the political scene since Feb 9th.

Newest polls says Clinton is best for the economy. Newest polls say Clinton can beat McCain in swing states. MI and FL haven't been allowed to vote and Obama says that they agreed to the rules that took away their voice so they should have to live by the rules. Clinton says the votes should count (because the states in question like her). Obama and Clinton don't want to bring the troops HOME they want to redeploy more effectively. Obama has Rev. Wright as a MENTOR which is not really very comforting for those that want peace and equality. Obama's senate record shows he favors African Americans, not equality for all minorities. Clinton has a senate record that shows she made a bad decision to go to war in Iraq. Clinton has a senate record that shows she's always fought for healthcare but has yet to win. Obama has a healthcare plan that a majority of the lobbyists (big decision makers in DC) refuse to support. Obama says he's always been against the war, yet in 2004 he stated in two different press releases that he stood behind the president (because we were already pot committed). Obama says he never trusted the Bush Administration when they reported that Al Queda (sp) was in Iraq... but he trusts them now when they say Al Queda(sp) is in Pakistan and he is willing to go after Al Queda(sp) in Pakistan without the support of the Pakistan government. Clinton says she made a decision based on the information she had (and she voted WITH the American people) when she agreed to the Iraq war. Clinton also says she wants to be certain of the information being accurate before she makes any aggressive moves in Pakistan or anywhere else.

I'm so confused.

The people that elected me to be a delegate gave me reasons that are no longer accurate. Does that mean I change my vote to match the reasons they gave me?

Or does that mean I vote as I was elected, and fall back claiming my hands were tied?

The Whatcom Democrats say it is my job to make the decision to vote according to the people. They also say I shouldn't stab the people that elected me in the back.

This is very conflicting... can anyone give me some insight?
