Superpowers flex muscle, but at what cost?

In the power politics of international relations, superpower behavior is governed by the concept of geopolitical spheres of influence. When a superpower nation meddles in the internal affairs of another and attempts to exert undue political or economic influence in its perceived sphere, that's when trouble starts.

The trouble started when President Bush pressured Poland and the Czech Republic to establish a missile-defense system in their territories. This policy was then, and continues to be, seen by some as a direct threat to Russia, not to mention Bush's push for democratic reforms in former Soviet Republics still considered vital to Russia's national security interests.

Also, if Russia placed ballistic missiles in Cuba and/or Venezuela, this would constitute a direct threat to the U.S. Washington's hue and cry over such a move would be surpassed only by Bush's hypocrisy when he and his Pentagon took the "dramatic," "brutal" and "disproportionate" measure of invading a sovereign Iraq in 2003. As a result, what do we have?

The hemorrhaging of our national treasure in terms of lives lost.

Thousands of courageous people wounded.

A cost of more than $10 billion a month to finance this fiasco.

5 million Iraqi refugees scattered and without homes.

Every four years, the Democratic Party assembles a platform that outlines the party's position on a variety of issues. Traditionally, the platform is written by paid professionals and then presented to the American people. This year, thats going to change. I am holding three Platform Meetings in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. We will meet to talk about what issues are most importantand what should be at the heart of the Democratic platform for change. The results of these Platform Meetings will be incorporated into the formal process that culminates in the adoption of the platform at the Democratic Convention in August.

Gard repeats false China Cuba oil drilling claim

Even after Dick Cheney retracted the claim and admitted it was false; and after hundreds of newspapers proved it to be a false viral email campaign from wingnuts in the deepest south...John Gard made the claim that Kagen is letting China drill under Florida, and causing gas to be $4 a gallon.

Does Gard know anyone who can teach him how to Google?

He also claims that Utah, Wyoming and Colorado are not being allowed to get shale oil. Well, another Google moment for Gard.
A simple search brought up dozens of articles showing that all the shale oil leases, all 100% of them, in all three states were bought up in the early 1980's.
Why is this rock not powering our cars?
Simple Econ 101. The residents found out that tourism, brings in more money than all the royalties combined would...so the mountains are going to be there for hunting, fishing, hiking and looking at.

Please, someone show Gard and Mark Graul what a Google is?
I wonder how Mark Graul feels with his Ohio counterpart, getting Abramoff tickets now going to prison, for getting sports events tickets?

Indicted GB GOP Chair faces court June 26th

Gas Prices High....Unveiled Car Run's on Water

A Japanese venture company, Genepax, has unveiled a car on that runs on water. All it requires is a litre of water. In fact, any kind of water to be exact, whether its river, rain, sea water, or even Japanese tea. Its an electric powered car that runs solely on hydrogen dioxide.
"The main characteristic of this car is that no external input is needed. The car will continue to run as long as you have a bottle of water inside for you to add from time to time," said Kiyoshi Hirasawa, Chief Executive Officer of Genepax, after he proudly announced the company's invention.
Once water is poured into the water tank at the back of the car, the newly invented energy generator takes out the hydrogen from the water, releases electrons and finally generates electrical power.
"We highly recommend our system since it does not require you to build up an infrastructure to recharge your batteries, which is usually the case for most electric cars," said Hirasawa, who is hoping to advertise the car in time for the upcoming G8 Summit in Hokkaido, Japan.

Campaign Suspended

Unfortunately there comes a time where all good things come to an end. Today, I am announcing that I have suspended my youth activism campaign as of June 15th, 2008. I wanted to share this news with you as I know many of you are supporters of my efforts of Senator Obama's campaign.

I have appreciated the opportunities and experiences that have been provided to me during my four years of my involvement in politics. I will continue to follow politics. This has been a wonderful experience. I could not ask for much more. I have grown in many ways and will treasure the opportunities provided to me. I began this journey to make a difference. To make a difference for my city, state, and nation. We have a committed to change history. To show America and the world that one voice can change the world.

To all of my supporters, thank you. Thank you for your support and trust. With out you, I could have never went as far as I would have. I know that this maybe uncomfortable news to you and I understand.

Indicted GOP Chair still signing official documents

The official Brown County Republican Party campaign finance report, filed in Jan of 2008 has a very suspicious name as it's official.... The official who resigned on October 4, 2007, following his arrest for felony sex crimes. After the group was decertified by the state! The alleged felony sex offender Brown County Republican Party Chairman, Don Fleischman, filed THE OFFICIAL report, three months after he resigned? This can't be legal...and I was wondering, if anyone else would like to badger the press to cover this, ongoing fiasco that is the Brown County Republican Party. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT STATE OF WISCONSIN WISCONSIN ELECTION CAMPAIGN FUND REPUBLICAN PARTY OF BROWN COUNTY 1920 LIBAL STREET GREEN BAY, WI 54301 NAME OF REPORT Jan Continuing, 2008 SUMMARY OF RECEIPTS.... Date DONALD J. FLEISCHMAN Wednesday, January 30, 2008 The finance report, was filed on Jan 30, 2008 and includes the donation made after his resignation in early November. I did forward this to the Wisconsin Accountability Board Chairman, Kevin Kennedy and the media. Sorry about the formatting, and the actual document is avaialable for viewing at the BC GOP offices. I am not sure where to find it online, at the WAB website, as this technically is also an IRS, FEC filing. But the point is, why is an unauthorized person signing official documents for an organization that is NOT certified by the state, as a political organization? This is not an eversight or small boo-boo, on the part of the GOP. It is an intentional affront to the WAB and voters.
