An Economic Reconstruction Act

Our economy needs reconstruction, not just stabilization.

I am hearing from policymakers that the Stabilization Act is just the first step to economic recovery. This just means that the recovery phase of the cycle is being hastened. The problem will be kept intact to cycle into crisis again, and again. That needs to change.

Really Real Negative Rates

A couple of months back I told you about our economy in a state of real negative interest rates in which a dollar invested in treaury bonds yields a negative rate of return with inflation.

For the past few years, as I have pointed out to you, technical analysts have observed yield inversions, where short-term rates (the over-leveraged demand on credit that is now illiquid) exceed long term, indicating the high probability of a recessionary trend, that we are now experiencing, largely due to over-leveraging of capital and the resulting low-to-no growth.

When the music stops, and the allowable 1/30 leverage ratio must be paid by the "system," no one wants to be stuck with the toxic-waste (the bad debt) it produces, which has now been devolved to the taxpayer with a regressive tax code by public authority (state capitalism, not state socialism).

Story about Obama helping a woman 20 years ago....

A breaking story about how a kind, quiet man stepped in to help a new bride get back home. This comes as no surprise to those of us who respect this man and want to see him elected.
Blogger Leisha has posted a translation of the original story first published in a popular Norwegian magazine.
The Story:

Obama Story, Norway
Mary lacked money to fly home to Norway â€" Barack Obama saved her love
ÅSGÅRDSTRAND (VG): Mary was a newlywed and ready to move to Norway, but was stopped at the airport because she didn’t have enough money for the trip. Then a stranger turned up and paid for her.
Mary Menth Andersen was 31 years old at the time and had just married Norwegian Dag Andersen. She was looking forward to starting a new life in Åsgårdstrand in Vestfold with him. But first she had to get all of her belongings across to Norway. The date was November 2nd, 1988.
At the airport in Miami things were hectic as usual, with long lines at the check-in counters. When it was finally Mary’s turn and she had placed her luggage on the baggage line, she got the message that would crush her bubbling feeling of happiness.
-You’ll have to pay a 103 dollar surcharge if you want to bring both those suitcases to Norway, the man behind the counter said.
Mary had no money. Her new husband had travelled ahead of her to Norway, and she had no one else to call.
-I was completely desperate and tried to think which of my things I could manage without. But I had already made such a careful selection of my most prized possessions, says Mary.
Although she explained the situation to the man behind the counter, he showed no signs of mercy.
-I started to cry, tears were pouring down my face and I had no idea what to do. Then I heard a gentle and friendly voice behind me saying, That’s OK, I’ll pay for her.
Mary turned around to see a tall man whom she had never seen before.
-He had a gentle and kind voice that was still firm and decisive. The first thing I thought was, Who is this man?
Although this happened 20 years ago, Mary still remembers the authority that radiated from the man.
-He was nicely dressed, fashionably dressed with brown leather shoes, a cotton shirt open at the throat and khaki pants, says Mary.
She was thrilled to be able to bring both her suitcases to Norway and assured the stranger that he would get his money back. The man wrote his name and address on a piece of paper that he gave to Mary. She thanked him repeatedly. When she finally walked off towards the security checkpoint, he waved goodbye to her.
The piece of paper said ‘Barack Obama’ and his address in Kansas, which is the state where his mother comes from. Mary carried the slip of paper around in her wallet for years, before it was thrown out.
-He was my knight in shining armor, says Mary, smiling.
She paid the 103 dollars back to Obama the day after she arrived in Norway. At that time he had just finished his job as a poorly paid community worker* in Chicago, and had started his law studies at prestigious Harvard university.
In the spring of 2006 Mary’s parents had heard that Obama was considering a run for president, but that he had still not decided. They chose to write a letter in which they told him that he would receive their votes. At the same time, they thanked Obama for helping their daughter 18 years earlier.
In a letter to Mary’s parents dated May 4th, 2006 and stamped ‘United States Senate, Washington DC’, Barack Obama writes**:
‘I want to thank you for the lovely things you wrote about me and for reminding me of what happened at Miami airport. I’m happy I could help back then, and I’m delighted to hear that your daughter is happy in Norway. Please send her my best wishes. Sincerely, Barack Obama, United States senator’.
The parents sent the letter on to Mary.
This week VG met her and her husband in the café that she runs with her friend Lisbeth Tollefsrud in Åsgårdstrand.
-It’s amazing to think that the man who helped me 20 years ago may now become the next US president, says Mary delightedly.
She has already voted for Obama. She recently donated 100 dollars to his campaign.
She often tells the story from Miami airport, both when race issues are raised and when the conversation turns to the presidential elections.
-I sincerely hope the Americans will see reason and understand that Obama means change, says Mary.

59% of voters would like to throw them all out and start over again.

Only half (49%) believe that the current Congress is better than individuals selected at random from the phone book. Thirty-three percent (33%) believe a randomly selected group of Americans could do a better job and 19% are not sure.

By the Way - it is Actually a $6,300,000,000,000 Bailout.

The primary function of the federal reserve is to create money. If a U.S. government security for $1,000 is held by the federal reserve it can then have the Treasury Department to print $1,000 worth of federal reserve notes which Treasury then gives to the federal reserve.

The federal reserve now has $1,000 in cash, or more properly "fiat" money. The federal reserve retains a percentage of this cash, say 10%and loans the remainder to a second bank. This is known as "fractional banking" because only a fraction of the money is actually on-hand at the bank.

The second bank also retains a percentage of the $900 - say $100 - and let’s say two of the bank’s customers obtain loans for $400 each and this money is deposited to the customer’s bank accounts. The bank deducts a percentage, say $100 and this bank now has an additional $700 which it then loans to a consumer.

The original $900 which was loaned to the bank by the federal reserve has been transformed into $1,700. How? Fractional cash reserves at bank total $200. Loans to customers one and two total $800. The loan to customer three is $700. Loans of $1,500 plus cash in bank of $200 equals $1,700.

This process can go on and on and on. At least until people ask for more cash than is actually in the bank. Then the federal reserve send more "money" and the process starts all over.

Until people ask for more cash than is in the federal reserve system. Then congress has to authorize an increase in the national debt so more money can be created by the federal reserve.

That is why one of the items in the bailout just passed by congress was an authorization increasing the national debt - which basically is the money we citizens owe the federal reserve.

Now take that $700,000,000,000 authorization and multiply by at least 9 - fractional banking. Remember? That is at least$6,300,000,000,000 in new money that could soon be in existence.

The real question is, what is the financial oligarchy going to do with that mone. One word - CHINA.

The Free Flow of Capital

The Free Flow of Capital

Now that big financial corporates have used the capital to leverage maximum profit with minimum growth, consolidating the benefit for Wall Street amd devolving the detriment (the bad debt on a consolidation of capital) to small street with this bailout bill, described as a rescue plan, the argument to be made now by predatory capitalists is to ensure the free flow of capital in a global economy.

Remember that predatroty capitalists operate with consolidated power (capital) and mass money flows (volume), described in a previous article.

The next step in consolidating power, and keeping it, after plundering The People is to continue to operate with the force and legitimacy of public authority that will not act to redistribute the consolidated gains and recapitalize the marketplace to add supply or competition (supporting prices and profits).

Dictatorships NEVER Give You a Choice

One of our members made the following comment on one of my posts:

"Moreover, the American people need to understand better what is going on in this country and stand up and contact their representatives. This time, they congress had no choice. "

Dictatorships never give you a "real" choice. Look up the word "dictate."

The only choice dictatorships give is, "submit or be forced to submit."

That is why those farmers at Lexington are worth being honored. They KNEW that they would get to fire one (!) round and that then the British bayonets would be shoved through their intestines.

The vast majority of people have no where near enough courage to make any dictatorship show itself for what it really is,
