Dent County Missouri Democrats

This group is for Dent County Missouri Democrats to come together to see that democratic candidates win, and that they do the will of the people after wining elections. That the will of the people is listened to by their elected officials not just corporations, and that rich and poor people deserve equal representation not one sided representation. This group is here to build a grassroots movement in Dent County Missouri, and to build communications with other members to effectively help democratic candidates win on all levels of government. This group favors candidates and elected officials survey all of their constitutes electronically, and with ground mail on all issues except time sensitive emergencies such as natural disasters, so that the voices of the whole community is heard from and considered on all issues. This group was not designed to promote one Presidential candidate over another, but to offer a look into all Democratic candidates for you to decide who will be the best candidate, so may the best man or woman win. I am working to make more information available about all the Democratic candidates, and I hope to have more in the near future. If you look at my profile page you will see that I have made friends with half of the Presidential candidates, and hope that the other half will respond to my friends request soon. I hope to have an open forum for the Presidential candidates and more local candidates as well, and will be working all levels to provide better information on them soon. THE ONE THING THAT IS CERTIN*******NO MORE REPUBLICIANS! I am from Jefferson County, and noticed that there was no public group for Dent County Missouri Democrats, so I decided to make one. This group is in need of administrators from Dent County Missouri, so please contact me if you are interested.

Important Change: Jay Nixon At Jefferson-Jackson Dinner St. Louis Missouri.

As Democrats, we take pride in our commitment to working families. When workers are standing up for their rights, we're standing right there with them.

So, as a show of respect for the union workers currently engaged in a labor dispute at America's Center in St. Louis, the Missouri Democratic Party has made the decision to change the location of its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.

The Jefferson-Jackson Dinner will now be held at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis -- just across the street. The date (April 5) and the time (5 p.m. reception/6:30 p.m. dinner) will remain the same.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, but we will never waver in our commitment to Missouri's working men and women.

If you have not yet reserved your ticket, it's not too late. Please see the updated invitation below.

John J. Temporiti
Chairman, Missouri Democratic Party
Chairman John J. Governor

FENTON, Mo. -- At a United Auto Workers (UAW) Retirees Meeting here today, it was announced that State Representative Sam Page is Missouri UAW's endorsement for Lt. Governor.

Glenn Kage, Financial Secretary for UAW Local 136, called Page "... a true friend of the people who works to expand health care coverage for working families in the State of Missouri. He avoids partisan bickering and is respected on both sides of the aisle, but when needed, Page fights for what he believes in, like affordable health care."

"The UAW is proud to endorse Dr. Page for Lt. Governor," continued Kage. "He has the energy, the expertise and the commitment to healthcare that Missouri needs. Sam and his wife Jenny have three children and as a family man he brings his own understanding to the problems of Missouri's families. UAW members and retirees across the state will work tirelessly to ensure his election to the Lt. Governor's Office."

"The UAW has a track record," said Page, "of endorsing few candidates, but working relentlessly for those that they endorse. I'm proud to share their commitment to family values and their commitment to access for affordable healthcare for all Missourians."

Representative Sam Page was first elected to the Missouri House in 2002. Before that he was elected for two terms to the Creve Coeur City council. A Medical Doctor, he earned his degrees at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is married to a fellow physician. Two of their three children attend public school in the neighborhood; Jake, the youngest will in time join them.

Page seeks the Democratic nomination for Lt. Governor. The office is currently held by Peter Kinder, Republican. Kinder abandoned the office to run for governor when Blunt announced he was not seeking reelection. His party leadership told Kinder they had other plans for the office. Kinder is again running for re-election.

Help us celebrate this important endorsement by making a contribution to Sam's campaign today!

About Sam | Record | News | Volunteer | Make a Contribution Paid for and authorized by Page for Missouri
17 Windsor Terrace Lane, Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141
Barbara Hoffman, Treasurer

Click here to forward this message.
Sam PageDemocratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor

Today - early this morning - I left for Jefferson City. On arriving at the Secretary of State's office, I officially filed for the office of Lieutenant Governor at 8:00 a.m. today when filing opened. At 5:00 p.m., on March 25th, filing will close.

I have spent the last 12 months making new friends across Missouri, so you might say I have been campaigning for a year. In reality today the starter's pistol is fired. The race is now on for real. I am now a candidate for Lt. Governor.

My opponent, the incumbent Lt. Governor, Peter Kinder, decided to run for Governor and so left the office open, but then the heads of his party informed him that they had other plans for the Governor's office. Peter is now back and running for reelection for his present office, Lt. Governor.

Peter is a first class campaigner and - more to my detriment - a first class fund raiser. Unlike his party's leaders, I respect him as an opponent and I respect him as a campaigner. I do not respect his handling of the office. I'll speak to that in the General Election. What I will say now is that it is time to raise some real money for the coming TV, Radio, Newspaper Ads, Signs, and Direct Mail. Will you help me?

The maximum contribution allowed has been raised from $1275 and is now $1350. I will need many maximums to generate a million-dollar campaign budget. But I appreciate that each must contribute to their ability. I understand that.

Please do what you can.
