Dear Annie,

Millions of voters in Florida and Michigan are depending on you to help make sure they have a voice in this race. Will you stand up for them today?

Thanks to your efforts, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of people who have already spoken out, the DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee is meeting May 31 to make a decision about whether or not the votes in Michigan and Florida will count.

Now I need you to urge the DNC to make the right decision on May 31. I need you to remind them that in the Democratic Party, we count every vote.

Tell the Democratic National Committee to count the votes of Florida and Michigan.

On May 31, the DNC has a chance to make it clear that the people of Florida and Michigan have a voice in our party. The decision is especially critical given the important role these states will play in November.

And your voice could make the difference for the millions of people who went to the polls in those two states to make their choice for president.

Stand with me today and tell the DNC to count the votes in Florida and Michigan.

I have consistently said that every vote must count. It is such an important principle in our party. I really appreciate you standing up for the values we share.

I would like some truth now. Why are gas prices up?

Is it because we have a short supply: FACT: NO

Is it because consumption is up? FACT: NO, our consuption is down

Are foriegn and Americian investors bidding higher prices on oil: YES

What is OBama going to do about it?

I would like to hear solutions instead of rhetoric. Please copy his statement, not another opinion of a pundant or someone on this site.

I can't find his solution statement anywhere.

Draft the Bush Twins

I was listening to Christopher Lydon on Open Source and he was interviewing two Marine Captains. Both were ivy league grads and have great careers ahead. And both are soon going back to Iraq for the nth deployment.

They expressed the weight of the heavy burden they carry, being responsible for 40 Marines. And they also feel that the burden is not very well distributed across society ... the same people are going back over and over and getting the same result. In effect, we are driving America's finest insane.

I think that we should share the burden more evenly and I propose that we institute a draft.

But this draft should have special rules.

Rule 1 - Anyone between the ages of 18-29 must register.

Rule 2 - Children of the administration and congress would automatically be drafted if they are fit for service. As a sign of goodwill to the American People that their interests are being served well. No exceptions or exemptions on this rule.

Rule 3 - No exemptions, everyone must serve regardless of religion or heritage.

Rule 4 - Native Americans are exempt.

Draft number 1 and 2 would go to the Bush twins, and so forth through the administration and down to the newest member of congress. So if Dick Cheney's daughter was young enough she would get draft number 3.

It sounds like such a perfect arrangement and it would undoubtedly bring about some swift changes.

But then I thought ... what would happen if we gave George Bush another 200,000 strong to force his vision on the rest of the world. Not acceptable.

So my heart goes out to the Marine Captains and I hope they are able to bring most of their men and themselves back home.

But what I wouldn't give to see Bush's daughters in these guys shoes.

The original statement by Senator Obama was that he would sit down and have face to face talks (leader to leader)
with our enemies.

Senator Clinton took great exception to this and Senator Obama stuck to his guns (so to speak) and reaffirmed his original statement.

When did it become a diplomatic negotiation?

Yesterday everyone, including myself, was in an uproar about comments President Bush made in Isreal concerning
appeasers and Hitler.

I stated why I believed it was said in a post that in no way attacked Senator Obama.

Many Clinton supporters were upset that the comments were made outside the United States and in Isreal no less.

Every Obama supporter I talked to was outraged at such an attack against Senator Obama.

One thing I failed to notice, something I haven't heard anyone mention on this site...The president did not mention Senator Obama. We all assumed that he was talking about Senator Obama. It is an obvious conclusion, but the truth is, Obama was never mentioned.

My question is this...

Why did everyone from the people on this site, the Obanma campaign, the Clinton campaign and every media pundent simply assume that this was a direct attack against Senator Obama?

What does it say about the current psychology of the campaign that everyone assumed it was directed at Senator Obama when he was never mentioned, or referenced, in the statement?

You can start screaming at me now, but if someone wouldn't mind at least considering the question it would be appreciated.

Pete Stark Endorses Obama

Pete Stark, one of my favorite congessmen from California just endorsed Barack Obama.

Pete Stark is a man of conviction who is not afraid to stand up the Bush and the current administration and call them for what they are. You may not remember, but back in October, Pete Stark was forced by our coward's Congress to apologize to George Bush. The ONLY apology that any citizen of this country should ever have to make to Bush is if someone said something bad about a member of Bush's family. Otherwise--nothing is too bad for Bush.
