I heard today that it still hasn't been determined whether or not Stevens has won his re-election in Alaska. They said it's still too close to call. I find it preposterous that the people of Alaska actually voted for the felon. Then again, they did elect Palin for Governor. Still and all, I am just amazed!
I think it is very ironic, all the things that are being said about Palin. She doesn't even know that Africa is a continent or which countries make uo North America. Unbelievable!!! Well, maybe not so unbelievable. Let's hope that she just fades into oblivion, out there on the frozen tundra. If she thinks that she even has a remote chance of running for President in 2012, she is even more stupid than we thought.
The country is breathing a huge sigh of relief. Can you hear it?? We did it!! My faith in the American voters has been restored. After Bush was reelected, I was seriously considering moving to Canada. If McCain had won, I was even more serious about moving there. I have never felt so confident in a President (elect), as I do about Obama. I know it's going to be a very tough road ahead and that it will not be possible for him to accomplish everything he wants to, but at least we're headed in the right direction again. I'm especially excited that Obama is going to continue to send Emails to his supporters about what he is doing, as well as a blog site for us to give him our feedback. This is so important. It will make us feel like we really matter and keep us involved in what is happening in our country. I would like to thank all of you who joined in the fight to get him elected, as I did. Lastly, I want to congratulate Obama and the entire Democratic party for uniting and making it happen. My prayers go out to him as he works on cleaning up the huge mess the Bush adminstration has gotten us into. If anyone can do it, Obama can!!!!
It is so sad that Obama's grandmother has passed on, just one day before the fruits of all her efforts and sacrifices, are rewarded. She must have been an incredible person, to help raise such a compassionate, intelligent, and even tempered grandson. I have had several family members die of cancer or other terminal illnesses. The thing that always seemed to stick with me, as they passed, was their strong will to hang on until a certain momentous occasion took place. I'm sure she held on as long as she could. Maybe she was at peace and already knew that Barack will be our next president. I'm sure that she is looking down with great pride. My sincere condolences go out to Obama and his family. It has to be very difficult for them to concentrate on the campaign at this time, but his strength is just one more reason that I know, for sure, he can handle any situation that should be placed in his hands.
I know it's very late in the game, but living in central PA aka Pennsyltucky, I have to post this, in hopes that Obama's campaign will read it. Now, I know that Obama is ahead in the polls, here in PA, and I've heard he isn't planning anymore stops here before the election, but in my opinion, he has to either make one more stop in central PA, or at least run lots of campaign ads, assuring the people in this area that he is not going to take away their guns. In talking to people here, that seems to be the prevailing reason they will not vote for Obama (and of course there is the race factor, which no one can really do anything about). My husband asked one of these people why he thinks Obama will take away his guns. His reply was that the NRA is saying this. I think PA is still going to be a very important state in the final decision on this election. I don't want the Obama camp to take for granted that he will win PA, just because he is up in the polls and that Kerry took the state. As an insider, I can tell you that I see many more McCain/Palin signs and am very concerned.
I just had to share this. I live in central PA aka Pensyltuckey. Last night my husband and I went to a Halloween parade in a little "red" neck town, not far from where we live, where it is rare to see an Obama sign. Towards the end of the parade, a Republican float came past, touting the local Republican politicians running, as well as McCain/Palin. Well, I didn't hear any cheering. What I did hear made me laugh. A boy, probably about 10 years old, said "we should throw stones at that McCain thing". Now, I don't condone doing anything like that, but I couldn't keep myself from "booing" them. Then, a few minutes later, something I never expected, happened. An Obama float came by. I almost fell over when I heard cheers and applause from the parade watchers (mine being the loudest). I can't tell you how encouraging this was. Even though Obama is leading in the polls, in PA, it is hard for me to feel optimistic, living in the heart of PA, where racism is rampant. My faith has been restored. I just had to share this, in hopes that other Dems will take some comfort, as well.
This latest bull crap lying that the Repugs are doing, especially Sarah "Failin", is really disgusting!!! It's evident that they are clinging on for dear life, to the point that their lies are becoming even more absurd and hateful. The latest lie that Obama "pals" around with terrorists makes my blood boil!!! I would highly recommend that Obama and Biden start fighting back HARD!!! Not that they should make up lies, because God knows there are enough bad things to bring to light about McLame/McFailin, that are TRUE!! I say enough is enough to the blood sucking scum bags who are fabricating all of these lies.
I had been away from this site for awhile. I was so sick and tired of a few people posting their negative blogs. These people are obviously Republicans trying to tear apart the general unity of the posters, here. Freedom of speech is one thing, but these people are not welcome here. There are plenty of other sites they can voice their opinion on. Wouldn't they rather blog with people who share their same opinions? I guess they are just born instigators and thrive on being disruptive. My advice to posters, on this site, would be, don't give Patriot08 (or anyone who is not welcome here) the satisfaction of arguing with him/her, in hopes that they will just go away!!!
I was a Hillary supporter in the primaries, but now support Obama wholeheartedly. What I want to know is, why isn't Hillary doing more for Obama's campaign? After conceding to him, she said she would do everything she could to help his campaign, but we never hear her doing anything to help him. In fact, we never hear anything about her, at all, lately. Considering all the angry and disollusioned Hillary supporters who said they were going to vote for McLame, after she lost the primary election, I feel she should be out there trying to reach her supporters, full force.
I just read the results of a Stanford University poll, regarding Obama being black. The results showed that there are enough voters who would not vote for Obama, because he is black, that would prevent him from being elected, should the election be a close race.
I find this very disturbing. Why is it that everyone, including the media, constantly neglects to mention the fact that Obama is also half white? Especially since he was raised by a white mother and white grandparents. He didn't grow up "in the hood", or anything (not that that should matter anyhow). He is more intelligent and highly educated than many white people in America. The poll asked participants to give adjectives that they feel relate to black people, and many said "lazy". Obama has accomplished so much, in his 47 years, that I would hardly say he was "lazy". You would think that so many years since the civil rights movement, there wouldn't still be so much bigotry in America.

Just wondering if anyone watched the CNN special, McCain/Obama Revealed? If not, I believe they are airing it again tomorrow. It's definitely worth seeing. It certainly doesn't show McCain in a very good light. He cheated on his disabled first wife consistently. Now, even though I do not condone adultery, I do not believe it has any effect on a person's ability to run the country, but, what I really found disturbing is that McCain actually applied for a marriage license, to marry Cindy, before he was actually divorced from his first wife. This is not just an absence of morality. It is an issue of legality. What does this say about McLame??
I was sitting in a restaurant/bar when I saw that the Rep puppet chose the unknown and inexperienced Gov Palin. I just about fell off my chair. I knew he was stupid, but this tops all of his other poor judgement decisions. Then I started thinking, hey, this could actually be a good thing. It's obvious that his puppet masters convinced him that picking a woman VP would pull all of the Hillary supporters over. While there may be some women who will be naive enough to fall into his trap, I think most women are strong and smart enough to see what he's doing. It's not about gender. It's about the issues. Palin does not represent most women. I think McLame just screwed himself out of any chance of winning the election. If this decision hasn't ruined him, he has plenty of time to screw up, some more. I plan to sit back and enjoy watching him destroy himself.
that no one is posting anything about the Michelle Obama smear campaign. If the McLame camp (and Fox) want to play dirty, because they have nothing else they can do to win, then turn about is fair play. How about Mrs. McLame..is she the perfect Barbie Doll Stepford wife, or what?? I think the Reps chose to pick on Michelle because it is evident that she and Obama have a very good and loving relationship, so attacking Michelle is like going after Obama's Achilles heel. If that's the best they can do, then McLame's got no ammunition and will not win. I personally feel that his campaign will be shot out of the water when the debates begin. I can't wait for him to let the "f" bomb drop. I hear he has a very bad temper and uses the "f" word quite often. Should be entertaining.
to withdraw from Iraq, this morning, talking to Matt Lauer. He says it's the number of casualties. What in God's name does that mean???? It's a war. There are going to be casualties. Does it really make it less serious if the number of casualties goes down? Even one casualty is too many. All the casualties that have taken place, so far, are an abomination!! OMG...The more I hear him talk, the more terrified I am. Hopefully, he will continue to make stupid remarks, and kill his own candidacy.
I just saw the "long" short list of VP possibilities, for Obama. I have to admit that I'm not familiar with a few of the names on the list. I did vote for Hillary in the Primaries, but am not so sure if she would be his best choice. Not that she wouldn't be well qualified. I just think that she could be more effective either staying in the Senate, or possibly a different cabinet position. Also, I haven't decided yet whether she would help or hurt him, by being his running mate. They are reporting that Obama may want someone who has a strong military background. I suppose that would be helpful, but there are so many variables to be considered. In my opinion, after watching Dennis Kucinich, the other night, trying to get impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, I think he would be a wonderful choice, especially since he is from Ohio (a crucial state in the general election). Unfortunately, he is not on the list though. I'm interested in all your thoughts on the issue of the VP. Thanks.
Have any of you seen McLame's campaign ad, on TV, stating that he hates war? If he truly hates war, how can he say that he would extend the war in Iraq for as long as it takes (even 100 years)? What a hypocrate!! Don't his supporters see this? I would say that he needs a new campaign manager, with putting out contradictory TV ads, like this, but instead I say "keep on running these ads that just show how stupid McLame really is".
Thanks, Liz, for letting us know about Dennis Kucinich. I am so angry, right now. I knew Bush was doing illegal things, but hearing all the details and facts, it really hits a nerve. I hope and pray that it doesn't get tabled. I wish it would have happened years ago, though. Our country would most definitely not be in such turmoil (that is, of course, if Cheney went down too). This just reinforces my strong convictions that we CAN NOT endure another 4-8 years of McSame!!!!!! No matter how many times McLame tries to distance himself from Bush, he is just as evil, and will most definitely carry on the same policies and criminal acts.
I have a suggestion to all true Dems, who post on here. Let's all band together and not give any replies or comments to the few bloggers who are trying to divide and sabotage the party with their "I will vote for McCain" rhetoric. I admit, I have been replying to all the negative posts, thinking I could change their minds, but I am vowing to stop, from here on out. It's just not worth it. I'm convinced that they had planned to vote for McLame, all along, and are only on here to try to divide the real Dems. Hopefully, if we ignore them, they will go away.
Does anyone else feel that FemDemo should be gone from this website? Her blogs are just plain crude! Everyone hs their right to voice their opinion, but using foul language is totally inapropriate. I'm not a prude, or anything, but I find her very offensive. She is certainly not doing a very good job of representing herself. Her choice of words show me that she has no intelligence or couth. I'm sure she'll have plenty of wonderful ladylike names to call me, after reading this. That's okay, I can take it.
I just read a release from the AP that Hillary will officially end her campaign tomorrow, and will back Obama wholeheartedly. She wants to get the party united, behind him, for the sake of our country. If Hillary has the character not to be bitter (as so many of her supporters are), then why can't her supporters, who are threatening to vote for McCain, out of spite and anger?? If you traitors are true Hillary supporters and trust her judgement, then it's time to get on board and follow her lead!!
