Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness. George Washington

The people of Mexico are standing up to be heard. The justice system in Mexico is in the process of radical reform and what they need is support from thier neighbors.

"On a recent evening, the 30-year-old lawyer explained Mexico's new rules of justice to a class of 200 professionals with the clarity of a preschool teacher: "The accused is IN-NO-CENT until proven guilty! Confessions cannot be coerced. Which means the person cannot be submitted to ...?" She paused for a response.

"Torture," several students answered in unison."

With Democrats in charge in Washington the Mexican government can be helped to speed up these reforms and secure human rights and prosperity for the people of Mexico.

"Under the old rules, suspects are routinely paraded in front of cameras before they have been charged, sometimes holding weapons allegedly used in crimes. Lawyers often pay witnesses to write favorable testimony, Gonzalez said, and there are no cross-examinations of witnesses, emotional courtroom exchanges or clever closing arguments."

Thier is no fence or surveillance system than can do the job of a society that gives people the freedom and security to prosper.

The League of Conservation Voters gives Sen. McCain a zero rating on his 2007 congressional score card.  He missed every vote the environmental group identified as criticle last year, even scoring lower than members who died in the middle of the term.

So for getting the lowest score in congress here's to you McLame.

In a 6-3 decision by the US Supreme court decision stating states are not bound by all US treaties. It was signed by the President and ratified by 2/3 of the Senate, and was specifically one written and insisted on by the US. In a case where Mexican nationals were denied thier right to consular access, we now can expect US citizens to recieve the same treatment.

We do not want more of these Supreme Court judges. This is what to expect with McCain. It is time to put pressure on the talking heads on TV, we know they will bow to pressure from the right. We have the power to bring them in line with responsible journalism, contact Matthews,Blitzer and alike because those are the ones who propetuate the sound bites. Even Faux, sorry, Fox News. Dont give them a break, we can get them to cover the stories.

50 years ago on a Easter weekend in London, marchers left the city for a factory in the country where Brittain built the atomic bomb.
Gerald Holtom made the peace symbol combining N and D, in the naval sign language of semaphore, with a circle around it. Using the N and D for nuclear disarmorment, opposing the bomb in Soviet Union, USA and Brittain.

So far this year thats how many breaches in Obama's pasport. Thats outragous.
I found this on a political cartoon. Michigan regulators approve surcharge for 911 calls from cell phones.

Not a very funny cartoon.
This won't cure global warming but beginnings have to begin some where. When I first started to join in I thought if there were nearly 300 million people (now over) in the US, if every one did 1 sustainable thing, like changing to florescent lights to shrinking the size of your lawn. This could make a significant difference. After I started I expanded to cover every one in my family. And now I am well beond that becaus I found how easy it is.
I encourage every one if you have already started keep going and if you havn't, give it a try. Remember the key is sustainable. Please keep it in your mind.
Thanks Norm.
