By nominating Barrack Obama, the Democratic Party would be give themselves the greatest opportunity to win the 2008 Presidential election and they would increase their base substantially in the coming years as the younger generation makes decisions of their party affiliation.
The Democrats are the party that could not prevent the worst President in the history of the US from being re-elected.
That shows the need to make changes.
Hillary Clinton would not be a change. The Clinton campaign is showing the same unethical tactics the Bush campaign used.
If the Democratic party chooses Hillary over Barrack they do not deserve the Presidency.
The Democratic establishment must step aside and let change happen. Change is Barrack Obama.
Many unhappy Clinton supporters are saying they will vote for McCain, a third party or not at all out of protest that Hillary was cheated out of the nomination by unfair DNC rules. They want to send a message to the DNC. Who pays the price for the protest vote? Brave American soldiers serving in Iraq Americans in desperate need of some type of universal health care Americans in grave financial situations looking for economic reforms. Any of the protest votes will facilitate the election of John McCain. He will carry on the Bush Iraq war policy that will end in more brave American soldiers unneccessarily losing their lives. Obama's Iraq policy is very close to Clinton's John McCain does not support universal healthcare. Many American's are desperate for universal health care and will suffer without it. Obama supports a modified version of Clinton's universal health care. John McCain's economic policy is very close to Bush's. The only ones prospering under the Bush/McCain economic policy are the very rich. Everyone seems to lose. Obama's economic policies are very close to Hillary's. It is America. You have your right to your protest vote. But think who will be paying the price for your protest vote.
Losing is always tough. It is a better measure of personal fortitude than how one handles winning. I certainly understand disappointment in Clinton's loss for those who supported her. It was particularly difficult because the results were so close. I have been impressed by many Clinton supporters. There have been a group of Clinton supporters that are extremely immature. They are whining about an unfair process, they continue to lambaste Obama, they say they will vote for McCain out of protest. If these disenfranchised Clinton supporters feel McCain is the better candidate I respect thier decision. If they are voting to make a point, Im have news for them they are not. If you plan to vote for McCain for any reason, go out and advocte for him.Don't hang around this web site and whine about Obama.
Clinton took the first part of her victory speech in Kentucky to praise Ted Kennedy and to wish him well.
That shows what is needed in the nomination process, differences must be put aside.
Clinton reached out to Kennedy despite his support for Barack Obama.
Many Blogers on this site could learn from Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama and his supporters do not have to be villified. Fight your battle for your candidate but do not make ridiculous assertions about Obama or his supporters.
Clinton has pulled back from her overly negative campaign because it is not what the majority of Americans want.

The failures of the Bush presidency are well documented. He has the lowest approval ratings of any president.
The theme of the 2008 elections for both the Democrats and Republicans is change. No one wants to repeat the mistakes and inmorality of the Bush years.
But the devise negative campaign tactics developed by Carl Rove are alive and well on this web site. As the Bush Presidency fades into history the campaign tactics that resulted in him being elected are being repeated by many Democrats.
It is not good enough to support one candidate over another. You need to destroy and villify the opponent.
George Bush and Carl Rove would read many blogs on this web site and feel good their legacy moves on. Their strategies are even being used by members of the Democratic party.

Clinton's strength, uneducated white voters, is even a bigger strength for McCain.
Clinton is winning the uneducated white vote but the indications are that in the general the uneducated white voters will go with McCain

The next few weeks will say much about Hillary Clinton.
You cannot argue that the Clinton's are very savy politicians.
They have kept their ear to the ground and know what strategies have been successful.
They were put in a very tough situation after the Missippi primary. The stratagy, they thought they could win the 2008 nomination with, was not working.
They do not agree with George Bush on too many issues but he had a winning strategy in 2004.
Hillary immediately went negative as Bush had done to Kerry. She has been successful.
Bush was very simplistic in his national security stance. He claimed his hawkish stance in the middle east will keep America safe while Kerry is soft on terrorism.
Hillary came out with her promise to "obliterate" Iran if they attacked Isreal. Obama has promised swift retaliation to Iran if they attacked Israel but would not go so far as to say obliterate.
The Clinton campaign has been implying Obama's national defense stand is not tough enough.
Go negative and tell the electorate your opponent will not keep them safe.
The American public bought it in 2004 and elected George Bush.
Many are buying it in the Democratic primary in 2008 giving Hillary Clinton a chance for the Democratic nomination.
If she gets the nomination she will not be able to use the strategy against John McCain.

This is the way I see it when it comes to principles and issues for the candidates
McCain
Principled Off on too many issues
Clinton
Unprincipled On on most issues
Obama
Principled On on most issues
Bush
Cannot spell Principle. He has never been right on an
Would not want to be issue
accused of having any
I really want a principled President that I agree with on most issues.
Guess who I am for
The good news is that no matter who are next President is, they will be light years better than the current idiot

Rush Limbaugh is encouraging his listeners to vote for Clinton to prolong the Democratic primary.
Limbaugh explains the longer the Democratic primary goes on the more the Democratic party will tear it's self apart benefiting the Republican's in November.
He is an idiot but he is correct on this issue.

Benefit
The Gas tax holiday gives the average citizen (and non-citizen) $25 in tax saving durring the entire period of the tax waiver
Cost
The loss of tax revenue will require a moratorium on many road repair and road construction projects.
The moratorium on th projects will result in a loss of an estimated 300,000 jobs this summer
Not only do the middle class and lower class receive the tax relief but also the very richest Americans and everybody in between.
In an economy where we are losing jobs why would we want to pass legislation that will eliminate more jobs
We are in desperate need to improve our infrastructure to meet the needs of individuals and business. Why would we pass legislation that set back updating a crumbling infrastructue
The cost benefit analysis speaks for its self
This is politics as usual by McCain and Clinton to pander votes from people who only see the benefit and not the cost.
This about votes not good government

People are sick and tired of the nasty, devisive politics of the Democratic primary except the Republicans. They are loving it.
Supporters of both candidates are leaving this blog because of the nasty tone of everything involved in the primary.
On the blog the Clinton supporters feel Obama and his supporters are splitting the party and setting the negative tone.
The Obama supporters feel it is Clinton and her supporters responsible for the split and the negativity.
Who is right?
Among the Democratic heirarchy including super delegates we have had several members of the Clinton camp defect to Obama claiming the tone set by Clinton is splitting the party and Obama is the better candidate.
Not one member of the Obama campaign has defected.
Dispite Clinton winning in PA, more undeclared super delegates have gone to Obama than Clinton since the primary.
Do these people in the know know something we do not?

Coming in to the primaries the stage was set for the Republicans to be in turmoil over picking a candidate. They had the religous right, fiscal conservatives, the moderates, how do you distance your self from the worst President in history. There were many issues the Republicans had large disagreements.
None of the Republican candidates resorted to the negative devisive Rovian strategy that had been so successful for Bush in the 2000 primary the 2000 and 2004 general. That allowed the party to unite around John McCain.
The Democrats were set to unite against George Bush. They had several good candidates to choose from. All the polls showed any Democrat would beat any Republican in the 2008 general because the electorate wanted a big change away from George Bush.
After Missippi it looked like the Democrats had their candidate, Barack Obama.
The Clintons only hope was to turn to the Rovian tactics that were so successful for George Bush. The strategy is successful.
And here we sit.
The scenario playing out in the Democratic primary gives the Republicans a good opportunity to win the Presidency in 2008.
Carl Rove must be laughing. His devise, unethical tactics were used to beat the Democrats twice.
Now the Democrats (the Clintons) are using the tactics to beat themselves.

Daniel Berger, a New York lawyer and a major Clinton donor has said "I think she is destroying the Democratic party...the only way she can win is by destroying Obama"
He is now providing financial backing for Barrack Obama.
The same is true of William Louis-Dreyfus a long time backer of Hillary Clinton.

If I could cut and paste I would but there is an interesting blog on MSN Slate asking if it is time for Obama to pull out.
The contention was Clinton should have pulled out after Mississippi but she has shown she will not drop out no matter what the consequences. (Bringing the Democratic party not the Republican party down in flames)
Obama, dispite leading in delegates and popular vote, agrees to step aside for the good of the party. This would restore the luster to his reputation ripped apart by Hillary.
It would stop the party in fighting. The Clinton's would stop their hissy fit that they are entitled to the nomination
The Republicans are excited to face Hillary and will win.
McCain does not solve the problems of the Bush presidency. In 2012, after Bush and McCain, the US electorate will not be denied a change.
The Democratic party will be united around Obama pulling in more young voters, independents and disenfranchised Republicans.
Obama goes on to a successful 8 years.
The healing can begin from the devisive politics of the past 20 years.

Obama has energized the younger generation like the Kennedy's and Dr. King energized my generation. This was eloquantly discussed in a previous Blog.
JFK did not have anyone from within his party viciously tearing him down like Clinton is doing to Obama. If so he may never have been elected.
The leadership of my generation are becoming stale and out of touch.
They are trying to apply old solutions to new problems. They are stuck in neutral.
My generation is fearing change when change is the answer,.
Clinton is playing to the irrational fear.
For the sake of our nation and the younger generation we need to embrace change.

Politics has been all about lieing and cheating for too long
Bill Clinton lied and cheated then he lied to the American public.
That laid the base for the biggest liar and cheater in political history, George Bush.
He lied and cheated his way to the Republican nomination and the 2000 US presidency.
He lied and cheated to take us into the Iraq war.
George Bush then lied and cheated his way to a second term.
He lied and cheated to survive both of his terms.
Hillary Clinton understands the results of lieing and cheating better than anyone.
But when it came down to the only way to keep her candiacy alive was to go to the darkside, she went to the darkside.
Hillary and her supporters feel the results will justify the means I disagee.
HOW CAN WE ELEVATE OUR POLITICS OUT OF THE GUTTER?

I have great respect for John McCain denouncing the ad run by the North Carolina Republican party using The Reverned Wright as a reason to question Obama's patriotism.
I feel is actions are genuine. He suffered from the unethical tactics of the Bush campaign in 2000.
Unethical campaigning resulted in Bush receiving the nomination and ultimately the Presidency.
Dirty Politics are very effective. It is a very sad commentary on our political system.

Dirty Politics are very effective. It is a very sad commentary on our political system.
Our society has lost it's moral compass.
The mind set is win at any cost. We see the mantra play out in the business world with Enron, World Com and the sub prime lending tactics.
We see it in sports with the steroid controversary in baseball, cycling and football.
We are making token attempts in business and sports to at least control the illegal activity.
George Bush was the prime example of an unethical, immoral campaign. What is sad, is it works. It is obvious now the campaign did not result in the best candidate becoming President. But he was willing to get in the gutter and do what it takes. The strategies of the campaign are mopre important than the candidate. How else could a totally incompetent man be elected not once but twice by free thinking people; George Bush.
I feel Hillary Clinton had no plan to use the politics of George Bush to get elected. But she hit a crossroads when she was behind and losing momentum.
She had a decision to make, do I keep on the high road or do I stoop to Rovian tactics which have proven to be affective. She took the low road because it gave her the best chance to win.
It is not entirely her fault. If the American electorate did not reward the tactic it would not be used.

Congratulations to Hillary Clinton and her supporters.
As an Obama supporter my disappointment in his loss in Pennsylvania was lessened by a positive victory speech by Hillary Clinton.
I hope the tone continues through the rest of the primaries.
The tactics used in the Democratic primary have been similar to tactics used by George Bush. I am sick of devisive, negative politics.
I hope both Democratic candidates take the high ground for the rest of the primary and may the best man or woman win.
I support Barrack Obama because he is the true candidate of change. We have never needed change more.
