HELP WIN A MAJORITY FOR DEMOCRATS IN SENATE
SWIFTBOATING OF OBAMA HAS BEGUN BY THE MEDIA AND REPUBLICANS:
As you all know the Convention has kickstarted the Campaign season and we all know that it is getting down and dirty already.Yesterday Senator Obama called on all supporters to actually boycott - yes - boycott the media channels that are willing to run a set of swiftboating ads that are willing to portray him as a threat to National Security. These ads are being financed by a 501(c)4 group called the American Issues Project and is being financed by the same Republican billionaire and accomplice of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth in the 2004 election cycle.

The US main stream cable channels are no longer an independent entity giving the public fair and unbiased reporting. After the repeal of the Glass Steagall Act in 1998 and the permission given to corporations to buy different kinds of outlets in the same media market - our country has not been the same. We lost the Gore and Kerry election due to continuous spin and distortion provided by talking heads on all these channels. Should media outlets be independent of Political Parties? Should they be allowed to donate and influence election cycles?
For the benefit of readers we extracted the following data:
In the Year 2000 election cycle:
Time Warner AOL - owner of CNN - donated $1.6 million to GW Bush's Year 2000 election campaign.
GE -owner of NBC, CNBC and MSNBC - along with Microsoft - gave $1.1 million to GW Bush's Year 2000 campaign.
Microsoft gave another $2.4 million to elect George W Bush versus Gore in the Year 2000.
Westinghouse owns CBS Inc - it is part of the Nuclear Utilities Business Group of British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) - who's behind this company - none other than Frank Carlucci - of the CARLYLE Group - Has anyone noticed how nuclear energy is suddenly so big on McCain's agenda this year - well - guess who is going to benefit if he wins.
Disney owns ABC - donated $640,000 to George W Bush's campaign in Year 2000
and of course most important:
Rupert Murdoch - owns NEWS CORPORATION and FOX NEWS CHANNEL - donated $2.9 million through Philip Morris to GW Bush's Year 2000 campaign.
Why is this important? We are fighting an uphill battle when large corporations use their large profits to create monopolies or oligopolies that work against the interests of the American People. We have been asking for better energy policies, environmental standards, healthcare for all, good quality high paying jobs - but do not see adequate action on any of these issues.
Please start spreading the plan of action:

MASSACHUSETTS LAW SCHOOL DEAN CONVENES �CONVENTION� TO STRATEGIZE BEST WAYS TO PROSECUTE BUSH ADMINISTRATION FOR WAR CRIMES
For most of his adult life, Lawrence Velvel, the dean of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover, has managed to remain anonymous to all outside of his field of specialty. With his announcement, this morning, that he is preparing to convene a �convention� to strategize the best ways to prosecute members of the Bush administration for war crimes, this is no longer the case.
Velvel�s Convention announcement comes as the House Judiciary Committee ponders Articles of Impeachment against the corrupt, unpopular administration. In other potential synergies, the timing of the conference, September 13-14, is being projected by Beltway insiders to coincide with a rumored attack by US and Israeli Air Forces against Iran. Such an attack, should it come to pass, besides being illegal and outside the scope of the President�s authority, would further deplete our already over-extended military resources.
Truth be told, I prefer Dean Velvel�s approach to the idea of impeachment. Given the frustratingly slow pace of Congress, and the fact that very little of importance ever gets done, particularly in an election year, it�s a good bet that Dean Velvel�s group will be ready to bring charges against the President and other key members of his administration long before impeachment ever even comes to a vote in the House.
Then there is the matter of punishment. All impeachment would do is remove the administration from office. Congress does not have the stomach to punish, perhaps it is the â��he who is not corrupt among youâ�� â�" and they are ALL corrupt, argument that fuels this attitude. Unlike the House of Representatives, Dean Velvel has pledged to â��pursue the guilty (Bush, Cheney and their enablers) as long as necessary and, if need be, to the ends of the Earthâ��. But even better, Dean Velvel promises to â��insist on appropriate punishments for the administration, including, if guilt is found, the hangings visited upon top German and Japanese war criminals in the 1940â��s.â��
Of his proposed prey, Dean Velvel writes, �the man ultimately responsible for the torture had a unique preparation and persona for the presidency. He is a former drunk, was a serial failure in business who had to repeatedly be bailed out by daddy�s friends and wanna-be-friends, was unable to speak articulately despite the finest education(s) that money and influence can buy, has a dislike of reading, so that 100-page memos have to be boiled down to one page for him, is heedless of facts and evidence, and appears not even to know the meaning of truth.�
Sounds like Dean Velvel is a pretty good judge of character. If only the people who voted George Bush in 2000 and again in 2004 were as good a judge of character.

I certainly believe so - he radiates so much positive energy and talks to the better angels in all of us. No wonder he has so many people lining upto meet him. After 8 years of the Bush White House - people are looking for peace all over the world.

Hi Everyone, Not only is it important to win the White House - but it is equally important to defeat the folowing Republican Senators up for re-election this year. We want to see to it that the policies that we the American people want our Congress to pass is not hijacked by corporate lobbyists and the Republican machine.
