I'm getting nervous that Barack may announce his run for POTUS before seriously considering how much more potent his leadership could be as part of a team led by Wesley Clark. They compliment each other more highly than any other set of Democrats and so I simply wish that Senator Obama would do the right thing and approach the General as his Vice President, ready to be the 2nd top executive of the U.S. Government- aware of how much he could accomplish for the country while Wes takes care of Bush's foreign policy disasters and repairs our place in the world as only this former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO could.
When and how will people realize what a Godsend it is to have, at this time, someone who is truly good and progressive and a Democrat, AND who also understands how to reign in the out-of-control Military/Industrial Complex through first-hand, inside experience? That 'reign in' must be the first major priority of the next administration. Will Wes Clark follow his gut and make himself available to the cause? and quickly please. The ground is quite fertile for the moment.
So will Wes Clark and Barack Obama get together and talk about this? At least on the phone? I sure hope so, and soon. Clark/Obama would win 60%+ in November 2008.

I strongly urge all Americans to take a long and deep look at
making General Wesley Clark the next Commander-in-Chief
of our great country.
I'm not here now to make the case for why I feel he would be the best person to lead America out of the gigantic mess the Bush Administration has gotten us into. I'll just say that I believe Wes Clark has the right blend of experience and character. I will, however, go on to say that I am for a Clark/Obama ticket.
Here's why. All the Democrats running for president, and others, are good people that should all be given a position from which their strengths can best serve the country. For example, I would love to see John Edwards become the next Attorney General. As a lawyer devoted to Justice for the common man on a nation-wide scale, I think that would be the best position for him to serve from.
Al Gore would be great at Energy, Vilsack at Agriculture, perhaps Richardson at State. RFK Jr would be great to head the EPA. Going bipartisan, Giuliani would be a natural to head FEMA. The more senior senators should probably stay in the senate where they already have important positions on the team.
Since Obama is very new to the senate yet has obvious star power, integrity, and the ability to draw a large diversity of people to the ticket, as well as major media attention the likes of which Clark needs, I think it makes the most sense to pick Barack as the VP. With 8 years of that experience under his belt, where he can focus on a progressive domestic agenda, he will be well groomed to become POTUS in 2016. That's a great long term strategy for the Democrats to maintain power and proper stewardship of the country. Let's just hope that Sen. Obama has the vision to see that teaming up with Gen. Clark is his ticket. I'm worried that his advisors smell power and may be urging him to go for the gold right now. That would be a potentially disasterous miscalculation. Above all, it is imperative that a Democrat win the presidency in 2008.
I think the GOP field, so far, is weaker than in 1996 or any other time since WWII. That said, i'm still very nervous about the Dems picking the wrong candidate-AGAIN-and losing. Clark is actually the only Democrat I have 100% confidence in to defeat any of the GOP candidates. If only Obama thought the same way and asked the General to lead a ticket with him. The public announcement of that would generate a tidal wave of media attention and electorate enthusiasm that the two of them would surf right into the Oval Office. Knowing this, I believe the other Democratic candidates would line up for their position on that team rather than waste time, money, and political capital opposing them. The GOP would be stunned almost into oblivion by that show of Democratic unity. This is what the country hungers for and it has ever since the assasinations of the 1960's. Bobby would be proud.
I close this entry by saying you will never find a die-hard Republican eager for a Clark/Obama ticket. Many in the GOP would love to see Hillary, Obama, Edwards, or others win the nomination because they know these people are vulnerable.
The Smear Machine is being lubed as we sit here now. It is VITAL that we put together the strongest, brightest, most qualified, intelligent, progressive, and unified team of caring people to win back the Presidency of the United States of America in 2008. Democrats must defeat the Machine!!! It's as if our lives depend on it. Thank you and may we have a happy new year on the road to better government.
