If nothing else, can we all agree that the Democratic wagon is a heck of a lot better for ALL of us than the GOP wagon?

How many female or minority presidential candidates did the GOP offer America?  NONE.

How many pro-women, pro-children, pro-education, pro-worker's, or pro-healthcare legislation has the GOP endorsed?  NONE.

Let's all just be thankful to be having these types of discussions on the Democratic bandwagon site.....we'd ALL be banned from the GOP site a long time ago with pleasure!

Cheers to my fellow Blue friends!

A few months ago, Democratic voter registration surpassed Republican.  We held our state Democratic convention and had over 3,000 people attend....more than 2,000 more than usual.  Now, here comes even better news....the Republicans couldn't get enough delegates to RSVP their state convention to get a quorum, so they're cancelling!  This is shocking!

Dust off those blue, suede cowboy boots, people!

GOP cancels state convention; panel to pick Nevada national delegates

True story...how fitting!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush's years in office by slapping his name on a San Francisco sewage plant has qualified for the November ballot.

The measure certified Thursday would rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.

Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind by actions such as the war in Iraq.

When I was a little girl, my mom told me I could be whatever I wanted.  I could choose to be a doctor or a teacher or a police woman.  My mom taught me to speak my mind with logic, reason and common sense.  She taught me that it was no sense in roaring if all you wanted to hear was your own voice, so use it wisely.

Well, I'm using it NOW.  I will choose which Party to belong.  I will choose who to vote for President.  And, I will choose which issue I want to talk about each week whether or not a man or group of looney tunes say that is 'resisting' discussing women's issues.

How dare you?  How dare you condemn our votes...our choices....while asking to have a civilized discussion on a topic so personal and relevant to my life?  Our lives?

Y'all don't even have a clue how ironic this 'resistance' crap you made up is, do you?  Makes me want to sing a Carly Simon tune.....

Remember...MY choice, MY vote.

Now, BUMP that GOP pretender to the throne outta here!

Get ready to fist bump, disco bump and belly bump all the way to November people!  We've got ourselves a DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE.....yeah, he's no peanut farmer or backwoods Governor to worry about 'experience.'  We've got ourselves a Harvard Law man who's been a senator in his state and Congress.  HECK, YEAH, we're excited.

I'm pissed.  I'm sad.  I'm disheartened.  Even after reading Jacob's wonderful blog today.  I CANNOT believe the type of fighting going on here.  And I WILL NOT allow the friendships and relationships I have built since before the candidates even declared their intentions be ruined by trolls determined to put us into one 'gang' or another.

There are NO gangs here.  There are Democratic supporters and there are McCain supporters.  Ok, Betty...and at least one Ron Paul supporter.  How ironic is it that last night I was off the blog watching 'Fight Club' during all of your hooting and hollering.

I salute my Democratic supporters.  We are strong-willed, proud, spirited, hot tamales on the Fire-Breathing Liberal train.  Stop fighting each other and save your energy for McCain.  Sit down, stop your whining and have a margarita or two!

We've seen the headlines on CNN, NPR, Time, even Faux News....in light of hellish fuel and food costs, there is world-wide threat of mass rioting and starvation.  Yes, even America is not safe.....any one feel the urge to go to Sam's or Costco and stock up??

"Be afraid.  Be very afraid."   We are part of the global community and can no longer believe America will be immune to this type of catastrophe.  THIS is what we need to be focussing our efforts in finding a solution.

biofuels_v_food.jpg

Biofuels created from corn, especially, is one hot market for American farmers.  But many experts across the world are claiming the rise in food costs is directly related to farmers switching from food crops to fuel crops.  What is the truth?  What is best for the planet?  I'm not sure soy and corn-based biofuels are our best bet in helping the planet if we're only replacing one addiction to another without drastic reduction in the demand for fuel...made out of whatever people come up with.

 Here are two articles...

Biofuels called a major cause of soaring food prices

and a different point of view...

Could it be, that weather, not biofuels, are responsible for the increase in corn prices?

NOT!

Hahahahahahahaha….I crack myself up.

Oh, silly, silly people.  LISTEN to the speech for yourself, not the pundits’ opinions.  When talking about why our American kids should become bilingual, Obama stated, “IT is embarrassing…” when Europeans come visit and speak our language, but when Americans go visit all we can say is, “Merci bouquet.”  His accent is the only thing people should get their panties in a knot over.
Some people are very loyal shoppers....going to one store that they love and are comforted by knowing where everything is located and friendly checkers who remember your dog's name. I prefer a little variety. Depending on my mood and budget, I go stock up at Costco or head over to Safeway for some sale items or Trader Joe's for 2 buck Chuck wine and ginger cookies or Whole Foods when I want to spend too much on healthy, specialty items.

I look at PB as a co-op market that my mom used to take me as a kid. Everyone could sign up and join....and during any time of day you could find bums and hippies mingled in with college kids, families and rich trendy health food types with organic, non-animal, recycled material shoes. PB is like that...a great big mix of sweet and salty characters that I have come to mostly love, adore and respect, even if we don't see eye to eye on all the issues.   Read More »

I've just started Rep. Robert Wexler's book "Fire-Breathing Liberal."  Interesting reading about the Democrats in Congress....sad, frustrating, yet inspiring.

Opening the book is a quote by JFK...a reminder to all of us to proudly re-claim the label of "liberal":

What do our opponents mean when they apply to us the label "liberal"?  If by a "liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares aout the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties - someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "liberal."  John F. Kennedy, September 14, 1960

Fire-breathing liberals needed!  To two of my favorite Hillary dudes....please join the Friday Forums group and accept being admin/moderators!

Ok, fellow bloggers.  I need HELP.  Hubby works for MS, so I am buried deep in layers of Vista, Outlook and Internet Explorer that he's loaded on my computer.  Don't mention the word GOOGLE!  I have to sneak Google searches like a wino drinking cough medicine.  I've been reading about other people loving Firefox, etc. instead of IE.  So, help a sister out....please, give me logical, tech-savvy information for me to discuss with hubby.  THANK YOU!
Have I told you lately that I love you?
