Yes its true, I am running. For those who do not know me, well let me introduce myself.
My Name is Titus Jay Nez, I am a 20 year old Navajo Democrat from Churchrock, NM. I am running for Mckinley County Clerk. There are about seven other Democrats vieing for the seat.
The primaries is to take place on June 3, 2008. I hope to make a change by being a young candidate and show that our younger generation are prepared to lead the people.

Does our Governor have a chance for the White House? I was looking at the polls and it seems he is always in 4th without Al Gore. He does have a 3rd place lead in N.H. and that is it. Instead of focusing on the early polls he should focus on the other 45 states. He will have a win in our home state of New Mexico, what about Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Texas. Gov. Richardson try other states in campaign, you will win them.

I am new to politics and want to learn more. I took a test once when I was in Washington DC. This test was to show how liberal or how conservative I was. As I was taking this test I thought hard about issues like: Abortion, gay marriage, social security, the economy, and immirgration. When I finished I added the score. I made a good -9.5 which met that I was very Liberal, just shy of -0.50 of being very liberal. So that is where I therefore stand.
I write this blog in order to see how my fellow Democrats on how I should be promoting issues promoted by the Democrat party. The Navajo Nation tends to always be the swing vote especially in Arizona, and the 3rd district of Tom Udall. Now I want to help build our party values and make the whole Navajo Nation blue. During the 2004 Presidential election, (We have 110 chapters) of that 110 chapters only two chapters voted for George Bush, the other 108 cahpters voted in favor of John Kerry. Just think if the Navajo Nation were a state, we could have solid blue leaders like Hawaii. Take our Navajo Nation leaders for example; Our President Dr. Joe Shirley Jr. is a democrat he supported John Kerry in 2004, our Vice-President Ben Shelly was the Chairman of the Mckinley County Democrats, and the Speaker of the Navajo Nation Council Lawernce T. Morgan also supported John Kerry in 2004. About 85 of the 88 Delegates currently serving on the 21st NNC are Democrats. But what I really want is your input on how to promote the values and strategy of the Democrat party.
