My 12 year old mind.
About the Author
I, Jessica Xu, swear that I will not tell lies, and everything I write here is my own opinion, set into my own words.

turned 12!

that's not it.

I've been busy and I recently joined about 5 clubs in school, have 3 piano competitions coming up, and I need to work on my math, but somehow, I will find a way to blog here.
I wonder what Mr Bush thinks, deep inside.Does he really think what he's doing is helping society?!?!?!?!?!?!? I can't believe that he would put our entire society on the edge of mutiny for oil. Does he even look at us and see what he's done, or does he listen to his supposed voice of god all day??

It's always hard to see the other side of this argument, but you can always see the tip of the iceberg. This time, you can't even see a sliver of his dissapating empire.
I wonder what started rascism in the first place? What really makes us think that we are better than any other person? It's ridiculous. We are born equal. If you take our parent's social status away, we are all born equal. It's our choices that set us apart.

Then, why does our skin color matter? Why does our backround make a difference? Why should people suffer because of something they CANNOT CHANGE? We have limited control over what we will look like. So why are we judged that way? We have no control over nature, or any other person's feelings. We can only affect what is truly ours. Our choices.
actually, many things do, but,

I am young, but I'm allowed an opinion, right? I write what I see happening before my eyes. I am a true democrat, but most of what I write are opinion essays, neither angled toward republican, nor democrat. What I don't understand is why some people think our actions, I mean, mostly the war in Iraq, are done just to as one said, "salvage an already severely damaged American international public image!"

please tell me that's not what we're fighting for.

aren't our desicions made for us? what we think is right? I'm not saying we don't go back on our judgement sometimes, but shouldn't the decisions made for this nation be because that's what we want to do?

I don't understand much, but please, don't tell me that we do everything that we do just to save our reputation.
I lied. I just was in a bad mood, because I think I failed my Algebra Final. I really want to get into Algebra 2H next year, and I'm really mad at myself.

But, I shouldn't be taking it out here...
Annie B is gone now. We lost another one.

WILL SOME OF YOU PEOPLE DO ME A FAVOR PLEASE? IF YOU AREN'T A DEDICATED DEMOCRAT, IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LEAVE AND DON'T COME BACK. EVER.

THIS WEBSITE IS FOR DEMOCRATS, OK? NOT TO JUST JOKE AROUND.

DO US ALL A FAVOR AND JUST GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU ARE EXASPERATING PEOPLE SO MUCH, TO THE POINT THAT THEY JUST LEAVE!!!!!!!

AND THIS IS ALL TRUE. IT'S NOT JUST AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD THROWING A FIT 'CUZ SHE DIDN'T GET A FULL SCORE ON THE ALGEBRA FINAL!

JP FENYO ISN'T AS MUCH OF A PROBLEM AS YOU ARE, AND THAT'S SAYING A LOT, CONSIDERING IS FENYO AND HIS HANDFUL OF SUPPORTERS VS. WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO HOME!
(not literally)
We are dubbed the land of opportunity. Why are we in Iraq?

We claimed we gave equal rights to everyone. Why are black people still considered different? Why did they have to fight in the first place?

What are we doing?

Our soil is stained with the blood of fallen soldiers. Our air is polluted with our carbon dioxide emmissions. Our brains are clouded with the >3 hours (on average) that we watch per day. 80% of my friends, and our future, are becoming lazy, depending on makeup, and, supposedly, what is "hot" at the time. Ipods, the wii system, Playstation, and Nintendo systems. Violence.

I'm not saying this is everyone, because truth is, it's not. But, as a whole, America is steadily spiraling down, like a side of a downward facing parabola.

Do we want America to have this kind of reputation?

And I ask you again.
What are we doing?

"we are democrates,"

Look at us fighting against eachother.

There's been some fighting going on on this site. One person, Daniel Kennedy, said that we are all democrats.

We are all democrats! I belive that every single person that comes here is a democrat. (Or a liar) Tell me, don't we all share the same views? Do we not fight for a common goal? Even if our exact views are not all the same, we all fight for basically the same thing. We even have something in common with the Republicans. We all fight for the stability and prosperity of our nation! Granted, we all fight in different ways, but at least probably 90% democrats fight for the same thing.

So tell me, why do we have to fight among ourselves?

United we stand, divided we fall...

So why can't we stand together? We fight for a common goal, we fight for the US, and as sadly demonstrated by JP Fenyo, lyla, and some of the other people on this site, we fight among ourselves. Do we have to?

I am 11 years old. I have no right to get into the fights between some people. I have no right to say some of the things I want to say to Jean-Pierre Fenyo. Yes, I harbor some feelings against him too. But, I keep my anger at bay, and my toungue in check. Because, we all have to stand up together, whether we like it or not. We are bonded together by what we BELIEVE in. And, belief is a strong thing.

Again,
United we stand, divided we fall.
I know you probably already saw this, Bernard, because it is on my other blog, but;

so,

I asked around my school; Democrat, or Republican?

So;

The 7th graders are almost all republican, with out of 5, 4 very dedicated republicans, and 1 not-so-dedicated democrat.

The 6th graders are almost all democrat, with only 1 really dedicated republican, and the rest, somewhat dedicated democrats.

The eighth grade,

Ben Chang: Democrat
Wade Homer: Democrat
Brian Ng: neither

I was going to ask Harrison Yu, but he doesn't like talking to me.

yeah, just ignore the names.

My county in NJ, Somerset, is more republican, (according to my teacher)

and there's this kid in my school that says that Al Gore's books are all enigmas.
I have, just recently picked up a book, recommended to me by the people on this site, called "The Assault on Reason" by Al Gore.

Not only is the Earth being threatened, but the public sphere in America. In 2001, 3/4 of Americans thought it was Saddam Hussein who attacked us on 9/11. Now, 5 YEARS later, people still have the wrong idea, and almost half of the people think that Saddam Hussein should take the repercussions.
Mr. Bush directed all the public attention from Osama bin Laden to Saddam Hussein. His ideas on life are just too simple. The world is not separated into good and bad, white and black. It's much much more complicated than that.
Television is basically, taking over the world. On average, and American watches 4h 35min per day. It interferes with the way we think. Too much attention is diverted to TV.

Well, I may be just a little kid, but I can understand some stuff your average kid cannot.
Plz write to me to tell me if I have missed something or the other. Comment, maybe.
When you ask my classmates;
Republican or Democrat?
60-70% will answer;
Republican.
Why?
They say: My parents are republicans.

Many children have no minds of their own. This is why; right before the 2004 election, a group of friends and I organized a mock election.
Mr. Bush won by a ratio of 5:3.

And why?
Because he is already our current president, and he got in once, so he must be worthy enough to become president again!! I was one of the 150 people that voted against him, but the other 260 had to vote for Bush.

OH YEAH?
HOW MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE THINK GEORGE W. BUSH SHOULD HAVE BEEN ELECTED A SECOND TIME? IN FACT, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER OFF IF AL GORE HAD JUST BECOME PRESIDENT IN THE 2000 ELECTION!!!!

We are lucky we have the rule that you can not be elected for a 3rd term as president. I will support Barack Obama in the 2008 election. (even though I can't vote. Yet.)
I might have faulty infromation, because I really only started reading the news 2 weeks ago.

I'm kind of disgusted with the president. I'm totally against war. Sen. McConnell said that they are givint the Iraqi government a chance at a normal country. So what? If they honestly don't want a normal country, just go and leave. Big deal. Through September 30th, about 95 billion dollars will be spent on the war. Is that worth it? I'd be really grateful if someone could explain this to me, because I'm a little late to join the party, but I'd like to know what it's really about...

Do we really need to be labled as a country of war? What is this war worth? Please try to take a little time to explain this to an interested little kid.
Who says children can't have an opinion? We are people after all. The kids that come here have especially strong opinions, because we chose to voice them!

Many of my friends have been living in political darkness. They don't actually understand a word of what is going on. They listen to what their parents say, and repeat them. Life doesn't work that way. You can't take credit for someone else's work.

A lot of kids have a strong argument for some political topics, but they just can't say anything because kids are considered nearly blind to this kind of stuff, just because most of us can't voice an opinion. We are quieted because of our youth. Some of us can see debating and voting as more than mindless arguing, and bad versus good. If you ask me, this generation has more to offer than what people see in us.
Hey, I'm not gay, I'm not a tree or a flower, and I don't pretend to be. I believe in certain rights that we were born with, and that SOME (aggravating) people try to smother. Our freedom of speech, freedom of religion, our right to do some things. Same thing goes with gay people. Many people dislike them because they're different.

GET OVER IT! they have a different set of beliefs. SO WHAT? So I can't be friends with say, Owen just because he's Christian and I'm athiest? Why should anybody else care? So what if to people of the same gender want to get married? Is it really that different than when 2 people of the opposite gender get married?

And this environment thing. Sure, cut down the trees. Produce way too much carbon dioxide. Nothing will happen. YEAH RIGHT! Even if you don't get punished on Earth, god will punish you. He will punish your children, he will punish the Earth itself. Global warming is happening people. Whether any of the ignorant people of this society want to belive it or not. The ice that is breaking up is, for the first time DROWNING polar bears. You rob the Earth of it's vitality to set up your metal monsters, your brick building blocks. And once the Earth is half destroyed, and ready to crumble from it's core, you'll try to keep it together using metal girders or somthing. You don't believe me now, but He will punish us. ALL of us. And boy will you be sorry then! Soon we'll have to drop giant blocks of ice into the ocean, just like that Simpsons episode. What will we do when the forests are all destroyed? What if it's before we can create some kind of oxegen-creating machine? If this keeps up, our great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will be living on the moon, and just like Al Gore said in his, "an Inconvenient truth", they'll all be wondering how we could have let this happen to the Earth. And once humans destroy everything, what's going to happen? The Earth is not immortal, people. It's resources are not to infinity. And, some of us, I'm sorry to say, will just have to learn from their mistakes, because they are just to ignorant to see what we are doing. It's the truth people. But some can't see it coming when it's shoved in their face. They can't see it when you give them evidence they CAN NOT steer around. The plain and simple truth can be hardest to comprehend, because, people are simply to STUPID to see it.

And, your children are already poisoned. They can't see it either. All they see are the illusions of temporary comfort. Computers, ipods, cell phones. Many of my friends don't belive there is such thing as global warming. Some think that it's not our fault.

It's happening. And it's ALL our fault. The Earth. Our planet. Home to 6 billion people. That is nothing that we can risk. As of now, some parts of it is still beautiful. And I don't think we have the right to violate it. The Earth CAN fight back. Katrina is an example of this. Even if we did have the right, we can't take advantage of the Earth's kindness. It's not without boundaries. Eventually, in my life time, I wish to have everybody see what we've done, and do something about it. My classmates are still young. They can change. But we can't keep going the way we are. We just can't.
The gas prices have finally come down. A little bit anyways. .02 cents to $3.225. So for every 20 gallons of gas that you buy, you only save 4 cents. With that, you can go 82 feet further. Big whoop. The national average has been above $3 since May 4th.

The people in Ohio have probably been suffering, as the prices there have increased 17 cents in the past couple days.

There was a 2.7 cent drop in Minnesota though.

It's interesting how much can change. Last year, from what I saw, a gallon was $2.49-$2.79. It's so strange, in my community, that there are 3 gas stations within walking distance of eachother.

My mother has been buying gas that has a higher octane content, and therefore, a higher price. According to her, it's a 'treat' to her car. She loves that BMW.
My actual blog is a google blog,

I'm new to this politics thing, and it's overall very interesting.
