When someone speaks of gun control, they often speak of preventing the purchase of guns versus the right to bear arms. I could be wrong, but I cannot remember a registered gun owner ever being involved in an incident like what happened at Va. Tech on Monday. We do not know where this student obtained his weapons. If he obtained these weapons illegally, then harsher laws to obtain guns legally donâ??t prevent yesterday's tragedy. Harsher front end laws would not have prevented Columbine either. In that instance, the criminals obtained their weapons from a person that fully followed current gun laws much less stricter ones, their grandparents. Read More »
Letter to the Democratic Leadership -
I voted Democrat, most notably for Mr. Carl Levin. I would vote Democrat again. Like most other Americans, I do not want America involved in Iraq any longer. Our president and other top leaders have failed to this point with their handling of the Iraq conflict. Unfortunately, at this point the Bush administration is not the cause of the current set backs and poor course of the war. Read More »
