Happy New Year...Off to the races... The news features tonight, both nationally and in Albuquerque, spoke of Bill's kindness to the other democratic candidates as all comes to the line tomorrow in Iowa. Hopefully, Bill will wrangle some attention and pick up the Veep Seat or ah, something good for all of his hard work and $$$ spent thus far.The end of the road may come tomorrow but whatever comes down, New Mexicans are proud of his efforts despite missing his personage in the Land of Enchantment this past year. The Rock Star-Candidate-not-so-much has done well for himself and for our state. Should his followers fork over the reins to Obama? The fires in California are one more kharmic sign to me that the USA made a big mistake in the endless war to avenge Senior Bushie. Katrina right up the middle of our country and now a blazing west coast...World record disasters, just coincidence?

Gay Giraffe? Our morning paper had a huge headline that read Gay Giraffe...or so I thought at first glance...Turns out it reads GAY GAFFE HAS GOV. REELING. May as well be a 'gay giraffe' as far as Gov. Bill Richardson is concerned. New Mexico has been gay friendly for years on many levels. It is too bad the Gov. screwed up his chance to 'stand out' at the coming out debates. He stood out in a gay giraffe sort of way by stating to Melissa Etheridge that "homosexulality is a choice"...ouch. It's enough to turn a giraffe gay. Bill not so much. A bit tired and more 'sad' than 'gay' after this gaffe comes in on top of his use of the word "maricon" on Don Imus's canceled show. Sign of the Times: The most conservative newspaper in our state, the Albuquerque Journal, ran these two sentences over the weekend...Hard to believe they were in the Journal:
A president who has now proven he can't manage a war, keeps his No. 2 in line or apply any leverage to legislation now in Congress now demonstrates almost total ineptitude in affairs of justice...
Do whatever it takes to advance the policies and power of this administration, the president's got your back-- that's the appearance of Bush's overruling a judge's considered sentence. Wow. Only took 6 or 7 years for their editors to get tired of abuses by DUH PRES.

Congratulations to the new campaign to DE-AUTHORIZE the war by Mr. Bill. I have not seen much PR for this...Some of the more 'freshly chaotic' things Bill stands for have apparently been given a back seat by the uppercrusts at the Democratic Party. Another reason to visit http://www.FRESHCHAOS.com

THE BIG DEBATE (or not so much) Finally, the 8 'Democratic Hopefuls' were all there on one stage, decked out in patriotic colors and vitriol...But the debate seemed a bit bloodless, humorless, and goreless (ha ha). Perhaps for now this is as it should be. Alphabetically, these 8 folks were in the running tonight... Joe Biden Hillary Clinton Chris Dodd John Edwards Dennis Kucinich Barack Obama Bill Richardson Next up the Republicans will do their dance with these 8 folks: Sam Brownback Rudy Giuliani Mike Huckabee John McCain Mitt Romney Tom Tancredo Tommy Thompson Now with the SWEET SIXTEEN...It's still a long way to '08...More moolah down the war hole and more lives lost daily. American politics. So cool. Stay in school, don't do drugs, and think about bringing back the draft while you're at it. Or give up on war as our biggest worldwide option for success. Really if Kucinich was only six feet tall, the world could be saved. Our New Mexican Governor is 'the most highly qualified candidate', says Jim Carville on CNN after the debate...on paper at least his resume is superb. Bill could've smiled a bit more...
All in all, a great night for Bill!!
