In my opinion Gov. Palin is committing political suicide by the hands of the Republican Party, and a desperate John McCain. This to me is nothing more than a political media stunt to wow the sheep of the GOP party, and a ploy to attract the hard core Hillary supporters that are stupid enough to play into this idiotic desperate attempt.

For those of you that are hard core Hillary supporters or for that matter Obama supporters, I stress the fact that I am nether. I am a democrat, and the powers that be have nominated Mr. Obama. That is my vote. And if I were to choose Obama would have my vote if I were an independent.

My point is the Mrs. Palin can't even see what her party is doing to her, and this woman could be the next vice president. (I hope not, but???) I have a problem with that. What's your opinion?

I ran across this by accident today, and it just proves my point that the educational system of this country has failed miserably. Comedian or not, does this idiot not realize he is setting an example that kids today are watching. I can only hope this guy has a little more gray matter upstairs then he displays on camera. But then again given the fact he pulls the race card for being illiterate just shows his ability to process basic intelligences.

I personally am appalled by this clip, as it just proves we have failed our children in this country, and education needs to be a priority. Lets bring back the basic. Reading, Writing, Math, Proper English, and last but most defiantly not least, Civics. We need to throw Ebonics to the curb. In my opinion we should have nipped it in the bud years ago. We need to stop running our children through school like cattle just so school can pay administration cost and start worrying about the students. Also we need to set an example for our children unlike this moron. Personally I think this guy need to put down the crack pipe and go back to school. When people such as this, are part of main stream media, this should be a warning sign of things to come. How can we expect our young people to make rational decisions when this is what were feeding them

With the weather getting worse and worse every year, when is the government going to wake up and stop turning a blind eye to global warming. While we watch flash floods becoming common place due to record rains, and tornados ravishing the Midwest almost daily. Not to mention the fact that hurricanes are becoming stronger every year our government seems to just close their eyes like it is going to go away. Not to mention what they obviously will due when a disaster actually happens. Katrina and New Orleans is a perfect example of that.

The rest of the world is looking at solution, and we choose to ignore it. Are we that greedy we can’t see were killing ourselves in the long run. Mother Nature is saying it’s payback time for destroying her planet, and if we don’t start thinking this as a priority number one issue, she will wipe us off the face of this planet. Please I urge all of you to write your representative about this.

In the mist of the presidential race with Hillary and Barrack in the forefront, and the June third elections coming up, I’d like to take this moment to remind all of up to vote for your democratic representatives in your district.

Myself I live in a district that now has a republican congressman representing us. I have written him many times with no response. His agenda is not, nor will ever be “for the people”. We here in the fiftieth district in California have two democratic nominees and I for one have made my choice of one of those to hopefully be our next congressman.

I urge everyone to do your homework on the seats that are open in congress and on a state level and please get out there and vote. I stress the fact that we have the opportunity to not only have a democrat in the oval office, but we can make a statement to the Republican Party that we have had enough of business as usual politics in this country.

For those of you in the fiftieth district of California please take the time to look at the two democrats running. Myself, after communicating with both nominees for congress I am going with Cheryl Ede. Now, that being said, I personally feel if you do your homework, which one should do before voting for any candidate that is running you will agree with me on my choice. Here are my reasons for making my choice.

She is completely against the war in Iraq, and supports Universal health care. Also she believes in Education, and making it a priority.  And last on my list of things she believes that green energy is the answer, and will support programs that further the development new renewable energy. There are other reasons why I chose Cheryl, but those are most important to me.

Anyway, that’s my choice. But my main point here is wherever you live in this country take a moment to sway your thoughts away even for a moment from the presidential race and research what is going on from a local level as well. If we can get more democrats in office on the state and local levels it will be much easier to pass laws that are most important to us as democrats.

I would like to take some time off the norm around here. (Obama / Clinton crap) and try a little fresh air for a change. After coming down off the ceiling, while watching Glen Beck on CNN Headline news today, (Obviously a republican idiot.) I calmed down and wrote this.. I am amazed at this guy and can only pray there are not too many people like him. Getting to the point this idiot is blaming the oil crisis on polar bears. Yep you heard me right, Polar Bears… Now I don’t claim to be a tree huger, but I am aware that global warming is an issue that we all need to pay attention to it and the bottom line is oil supplies are running out. But this guy is blaming the fact that oil prices are the way they are because of laws protecting the polar bear and the Alaskan wild life. With gas at $4.00 a gallon, and oil companies showing record profits I say bullshit.

I have been here almost a year now here at the DNC, even though I have been a democrat most my life. This post got a little lengthy but I just wanted to say what was on my mind.  After listening to all the rhetoric and crap that the media has to say about the democrats, not to mention reading the daily blogs people have posted here, I have concluded that it is no wonder the world thinks the democrats are a bunch of  spineless idiots.

I have been watching CNN, most of the day, and I have come to the conclusion that I already knew, that CNN is and always will be a Republican run broadcasting network. In the process of remodeling my home,(Buy myself, because I can't afford a contractor.)and watching for several hours now I have seen every speech from every Republican candidate, but have only posted results of the democratic party. But this goes to show the media machine that is clear and present danger. I hope this election is not turned by people watching TV. It is obvious how that will turn out if that is the case.

I pose a question to all those democrats that supported other candidates other than Obama or Clinton. The question is: Will you use the debate tonight to make up your mind as to whom you will vote for on Tuesday?

Myself, I am and never have been a fan of either Obama or Clinton, but will not cross my party line. Here is the dilemma, as I do not like either candidate so which do I choose? I personally think Obama to be the better of the two, as there are more independents out there that will vote for him over Clinton and that will help when the actual election comes; however, to me he is just doing lip service to be elected. As for Hillary, I think even though her heart may be in the right spot, the media and the republicans will eat her alive before the elections get here. Therefore, there is my quandary and I do not think I am the only one in this position at this point. I for one cannot base my decision on one debate.

I have totally lost faith in the people of America. I have concluded that they as a whole are complete idiots! The media machine has once again raised its ugly head and swept away the brain dead of this country. The Democratic Party has lost its only hope to win the white house (John Edwards), and now we are throwing Ralph Nader into the mix. Have we not learned from history of the last elections what happened? The Democrats lost because the independents voted for Nader.

It just goes to show that history will continue to make bad decisions if we do not learn from our mistakes. Wake up people. We need to send a clear message to Ralph that we do not want his help, and to stay out of the race. This will only result in another loss for the Democratic Party just as it did the last time.

Way to go America. You should be proud to be this stupid!!!

Amazing is the word that comes to mind. You people are just amazing. First, it’s down to three candidates, OH NO… The world is ending… We all knew this was going to happen. After reading the blogs and comments in the last few hours, you would think the sky is falling.

I personally wanted Edwards to win, but do you hear me falling on the floor in grief thinking the world is doomed and life as we know it has stopped. For Gods sakes folks, we have 49 states to go, get a grip. My view is Edwards came in second, by 8% I can live with that. There are allot more states out the over the following months that 8% isn’t a bad start. I really think some of you here need to relax a little or your going to have a nervous break down or a heart attack before this is over. And that means whoever you are supporting.

Never the less, I am a democrat, and I will vote my party. Even though I would like to see Edwards get the presidential nomination, Barack is not a bad second to me. So I personally am going to relax a little till NH and see what happens there.

I am however sad to see the people that droped out of the race tonight go, and I wish them the best. Maybe next round...

Did it ever occur to you why mainstream media is pushing for Hillary, and Barack? I personally have figured it out, and it makes perfect sense. America as a whole will not vote these two into office therefore it will give the republicans a better chance to win the white house.

This being said, yes I am biased as I am voting for Edwards, however, if you stop and think about it for a second, you will see what I mean. America is defiantly not ready for a women president. Call me what ever you like, if you were to ask the country as a whole, there is no way Hillary can win, and we will end up with another republican in the oval office if she gets the primaries. Now, I have been known to be wrong a time or two, but on this, I am sure of, and believe me if I am wrong, I will post a sincere apology to all you Hillary and Barack supporters out there. I am just asking you to think about how the media is going to sway, and swing this one.

As to Barack, his cause is a good one, but there are just too many Podunk idiots out there with small minds and a voter registration card. That being the case, I just do not see it happening.

I am not trying to slam Hillary or Barack here, I am more attempting to reason with your logic, and trying to make you see that it is vital to have a person on the democratic ticket in 2008 that is not carrying this kind of baggage with them. The average republican voters are no more than sheep. Hence, they will vote their ticket regardless of what it is doing to the country. We have to have a strong candidate on the ticket that can swing the independent voter our way, and if the media is scared of him, we may swing the independent voter. That person in my opinion is John Edwards.

All it is going to take is someone like Ralph Nader getting into the race, and the republicans will get it for sure. So before you cast that vote for Hillary or Barack, think about that for a moment.

I have recently moved into a new neighborhood in the town where I have lived since 1968, and overall it is a great neighborhood. As it is only my wife, son (25), and granddaughter (6) I was concerned for Shannen (Granddaughter) and the environment she is growing up in. Obviously as a loving grandparent, I am concerned as to who my neighbors are and their kid, etc. The neighborhood is a great one, many children, off any major streets and quite a few families with children her age. For a six year old, it is Utopia.

Therefore, in the last few weeks I have managed to meet and get to know most my neighbors. (A very rare thing in Southern California these days I must say.) Over all, a very nice bunch of folks I might add. Coming from Iowa roots, this I am elated.

Anyway, I was speaking with one of my neighbors and ask him as to who he was voting for, (yes a dangerous thing to do) and he said he was a republican. As I had drank a few cocktails in the mist of this conversation I ask him why. Now let me fill in the gaps here. Here is a well-rounded person obviously educated at least to college level, good job, family, and over all has both feet on the ground. Now that being said, I brought up all the crap I see the Republican Party doing, or at least the idiot twins in office today. As I said, I had a few cocktails.

The funny thing was, he agreed with me on most of the issues this country faces today, and simply stated that the only reason he is going to vote republican is the fact that with a republican in office there will be lower taxes. I was very shocked. Here is a fine young man with a great family that obviously had his head on his shoulders, and agreed this country was going to hell in a hand basket, and still was willing to vote for the people that are doing it. Being on my best behavior, I left the conversation at that, but I wondered to myself, is this the way that most republicans think? If that is the case, we are dealing with people that will mindlessly follow their leaders straight off a cliff.

I am however curious, how many of you have had similar conversations with your republican friends or neighbors, and did you get similar results?

It is New Years Eve, time to send out the old, bring in the new, and reflect and attempt to learn from ones mistakes that they have made last year. Then after one has reflected where they have been, and what they did, make a point or resolution to do better this year. We have thought this for years, moreover, hopefully for years to come also.

That being the case, why not make a point to apply this to what we do in government also this new year. Let us make that resolution to do something about corruption, and corporate greed. Do something about global warming. Even if it is on a local level, after all is this not where it all starts anyway.

Let us make a point to vote for people that can get the job done, not people that are going to make things worse, not that it really could. (Crossing one’s fingers) Make a point to write everyday to our representatives that were not going to accept business as usual anymore. That being the case, tell them directly, “do your job or we will vote for someone who will”.

Nevertheless, most of all make sure, that you did the best to do your part this New Year to make a change. That is my new years wish this coming year.

Regards to all, best wishes, and have a happy New Year.

Ron & Family:

I became a member here at PB about a year ago now more or less, when I became disabled and had a little more time on my hands then I wanted. Therefore, I decided that our administration had gone too far and wanted to do something about it. Since then I have read some interesting post to say the least. I will say it has given me an interesting perspective on how other people are thinking.  I have also read the flaming rants of shall I say people that forgot to take their medication, and decided because they had a vocabulary, and half a brain that they were the only one with an opinion that counted. In addition, the rest of us should convert to their way of thinking or they were going to sue or worse yet the world was going to end.

Reality Check here people… It is just a web site, nothing more, nothing less. As the primaries are getting closer, you people are going stark raving mad. I mean really, get over yourselves for Gods sake. Please feel free to read other peoples opinions, soak it in, voice your own opinion, but stop worrying about trolls, and plants and other crap like that.

Bottom line is, I have no idea who Asher or Opis are, nor do I care. If I were to read more of something they had written here and had an opinion, they would be the first to know. That is it; see how easy that was.

As to JP, well, where do we start? Last time I checked he was about a hair close to being kicked off this site, and I think that was the case. Being that I have not really heard much of him of late, it may be.  In all honesty and my opinion only, JP is one of those brilliant minds that just snapped one day, and he just does not know it yet. As to the Fixer, I am convinced that he is nothing more than an alter ego or personality of JP. Could be wrong here, as I said this is just my opinion. In all honesty, I kind of miss the mental mêlée one had to play with him, and let us face it; I rather enjoyed the challenge.

Anyway, think about it for a second or two. This is a site where people can get information, and network. This part of the site is where people can blog and voice their opinions, there is no conspiracy theory going on here, it is just the opinions of other people. So please put it into perspective and stop the madness.
Sitting here this morning, on this day of rest so to speak, wondering what chores the wife has planed for me to do. Thinking about the ever-important football games coming on later, I sip my first cup of coffee slowly and take in the week, as I perceived it. The thing is, and it actually woke me up this morning thinking about it was, Does the rest of the world really want democracy as we know it? Yes, my brain works a little strange first thing in the morning, however, think about it for a second or two.

NOTE: This post got rather lengthy as my mind was wondering, but please read it, and give me your opinion, as I would like to know if I am the only one who feels this way.

If you lived in another country, and were looking at our country these days, and President Bush saying we need democracy on a global scale. The first thing I would do is look at the United States, and how it is doing with this thing called democracy. So I thought about it some more, and came up with a list.   Read More »

As the primaries are closing in on us, and business as usual in the oval office, I stop to ponder what, and if I really made a difference in the way government is going these days. I mean, let’s face it. I voted for a democratic controlled congress, and succeeded but to no avail as they don’t have the guts to confront the corruption that is taking place by this administration, nor have they done anything to stop the war that so many of us are against. They just keep passing bills to fund the atrocity that our fearless idiot of a president has us “staying the coarse” to. Is this not why we voted them into office in the first place, to take care of these problems. Not to mention the fact that at this point we are the laughing stock of the rest of the world. Have to admit I feel very good about that!

It seems to me, we need to stop worrying about everyone else’s problem in this world, and start worrying about what is happening right under our noses. For example, we are watching our constitutional rights slowly and silently striped away from us one by one by this administration. However, it seems we are doing nothing about it. Oh and here is another one. How about making healthcare available to the average American Joe who is either has a choice of feeding his family or paying outrageous premiums so he and is family can see a doctor. In addition, God help you if you actually get sick or are hurt. The Insurance you have or at least can afford, most likely will not cover that, or there is some small loophole in your policy that says you are responsible for that part. Nevertheless, you do not know about that until you are lying in a hospital bed that the hospital wants back because your insurance does not cover it and they throw you to the streets.

Last time I checked it was “We the PEOPLE”, not “We the Corporations” and I have pondered this repeatedly, Where and When did that change? Not to mention why did I not do something about it when it happened. It seems we are in a situation today where the people that we elected into office are crushing middle class, as we know it into poverty level, because they cave to business as usual on capital hill and our government today is nothing more than lobbyists who do not give a rat’s ass if we live or die.

I mean let us face the facts. We have become a society that lives in cubicles watching the ever-present propaganda that is streamed faster and faster into our lives believing the crap the corporate owned media machine wants us to believe. We have taken civic out of our educational system as we know it, and students are nothing more then a number for school administrators to base their funding on for the next year, and they don’t care if the student gets an education or not. All in all this is a sad state of affairs if you ask me.

So I ask myself, what can I do? Here is where I am at a loss as to what to do. I attempt to vote in people that I think are going to do something about these issues only to be disappointed repeatedly. I vote on local issues that involve things happening in my local community, only to see them crushed by some federal law. I try to get the word out there by letting my voice be heard, only to have it fall on deft ears.

The only thing I see is actually changing for the better is the young people of this nation are now starting to wake up and participate in government and are getting out there and voting. Hats off to you, and I hope they can be the voice that might change things. As to my plight, I am not giving up, and maybe some day I will make a difference. Let us hope that day is soon.

Well, here it is September and it is the same old thing going on. The War in Iraq is still taking live on a daily basis and it seems to me anyway, that nothing is being done to end it. I have been a Democrat most all my life, and in my opinion, the democrats we have in office today are a bunch of spineless idiots that will not do what their party wants them to do. The wimps crawl back under their rocks at the first sign of confrontation.   Read More »
To the people of America, I say it is time to stop these criminal actions against this great country of ours, and the people living in it. While people like Scooter Libby are allowed to get a slap on the hand, and others like Michael Ray Aquino goes to jail for six years for receiving classified information stolen from U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's office. There seems to be no balance in the sentencing of people these days, while this administration is acting as if they can get away with murder.

On top of that, where is the justice today? Valerie Plame risked her life to stop terrorists from getting WMD's and murdering innocent Americans. However, when her husband Joe Wilson dared to tell the truth about Bush's pre-war lies, Karl Rove declared her "fair game"; and conspired with Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby to expose her identity, destroy her career, and endanger the lives of everyone she worked with to protect us.

What is happening here? Judge John D. Bates, who by the way is a loyal Bush supporter, throws out Valerie Plame's civil case as if it was no big deal. It seems to me, there is no justice left in this country. This is a great example to show our children how the law works in this country.

It is time to stand up and call for impeachment of President Bush, and Vice President Chaney then start working our way down the ladder to rid this country of this corruption.
