The Democratic Party has gone from being a party of the people; to a party of sellouts, punks, and schoolyard bullies.
This current Democratic Party is lacking in Democracy, Fair play, honor and integrity, and perhaps in common sense.
Despite dominating in recent primaries, defying extreme outspending odds, and connecting with the voters in each of the states. Not to mention being the strongest candidate to beat Senator John McCain in November. The Democratic Party Elite have continually snubbed their noses down at the voting results; disrespected and tried to diminish Senator Hillary Clinton at every turn.
Every time Senator Hillary Clinton would get a Big Primary Win and dominate in the voting results in States like Pennsylvania, West Virgina, Kentucky and so on; then these so called democrats on the Obama side would come out with their scripted and staged endorsements for Obama, despite Senator Clinton's overwhelming victories in the primaries the night before.
What utter disrespect for the voters of this land and in those States. It's like these schoolyard bullies in the Democratic Party saying to the voters in these primary States; that they are little people and what they think doesnt matter.
BUT, YOU ARE VERY WRONG! THIS IS AMERICA WHERE EVERY VOTE SHOULD COUNT AND BE COUNTED THE WAY IT WAS CAST.
A perfect example of this is the Democratic Parties Rules and Bylaws Committee's decision on the Michigan votes and delegates.
HOW IN A DEMOCRACY, AND HOW IN AMERICA; does the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee justify taking away delegates from Senator Hillary Clinton, that she honestly Won in Michigan and giving those UNEARNED delegates to Senator Barrack Obama.
THAT IS NOT DEMOCRACY, It's tampering with the voting results. period.
And further to only give the Michigan and Florida delegates half a vote at the convention is like only giving the voters half a voice. It is tampering with the outcome and an attempt to diminish and silience the voices of those voters.
Now, we hear talk of party unity, WHERE HAS THE PARTY UNITY BEEN DURING THIS ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY PROCESS?
I still support Senator Hillary Clinton as our Nominee, despite the DNC's scripted math and numbers for Senator Obama.
The Democratic Party needs to find it's soul again, because your games are losing a lot of the Democrat core voters, who have been invisible to you, ignored and disrespected by the elist bullies in the DNC throughout this primary process; and it is shameful.
ABC News NightLine did a nice story on Senator Hillary Clinton tonight. I wish the media would have done more stories about the candidates like this one.
Senator Hillary Clinton is Still the Best Candidate to Win against Senator John McCain in November.
The threats of intervention to supersede the process by the Gestapo like tactics of some Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, and Howard Dean do not faze me or deter my wholehearted respect and dedication to my candidate Senator Hillary Clinton.
I am my own person and I support who I believe in and that is Senator Hillary Clinton, All the Way To The Convention.
What is so wrong with taking this to the convention? Everyone talks about a Floor Fight, why can't we have a discussion, and reality check on the prize in November as Statemans.
Isn't that what Democracy is suppose to be?
Clinton 08.....All The Way!
In America, We are suppose to have a representative government of ALL the people. A Nation of where Freedom and Liberty prevail....A Country where Every American Citizen should have the right to vote, and for those votes to be counted exactly the way the votes were cast.
ANYTHING LESS IS TAMPERING WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE VOTES.
The suggestion by some at the DNC to count only Half the votes of Florida and Half the votes in Michigan, and only give the delegates half a vote, UNDERMINES OUR DEMOCRACY AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
What we are seeing in this election, in the attempts to Silence and Suppress votes is something we would expect to see in an election in some Third World Country, with a dictator in control.
NOT IN AMERICA, AND NOT ON OUR WATCH.
If the Democratic National Committee wants to impose a Hefty fine on the Democratic State Parties of Michigan And Florida, Do that.
But, Do not disinfranchise the voices of over Two and a half Million Voters in Michigan and Florida.
WE ARE A COUNTRY OF 50 STATES OF THE UNION, NOT 48 STATES.
To the DNC: Count ALL the votes, the way the voters voted, and seat ALL the Delegates, so that ALL 50 States are Fully represented at the convention. That is the way Democracy is suppose to work and that is what America STANDS For.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.
About that memo from the DNC, to summarize that memo regarding the seating of the Michigan and Florida Delegates: Here's an idea, We (the DNC) will only silence and suppress half of the voters of Michigan and half of the voters of Florida.
WHAT A STELLAR EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRACY. It reminds me of the 2000 Presidential Election when the Republicans were trying to stop the votes in Florida from being counted. All Democrats were standing up and screaming about that and rightfully so. Every vote of every American Citizen should be counted and counted as the voters voted. Period.
It is totally disgraceful for the Democratic Party to be conducting itself in the way it has been doing. The bottom line goal here for Democrats should be not to disinfranchise ANY of the voters from Michigan and Florida.
When these voters voted, they did not cast half votes. They exercised their rights as Americans to vote and vote their heart. For the Democratic Party to seek to silence, suppress, or attempt to tamper with the outcome of those votes is Un-American and undermines our Democracy as a nation.
If the DNC wants to impose a hefty monetary penalty, a fine on the State Democratic Parties of Michigan and Florida that's one thing, but to effectively change the outcome of the votes cast is not only shameful, it's unethical.
It is like part of the Democratic Party has been taken over by the Invasion of the Body (Obama) Snatchers. And their end does not justify their means; To silence or diminish the voices of the voters of any state is WRONG!
Maybe, the Democratic Party truly has lost it's soul. I certainly hope not.
On this Memorial Day let us all give thanks to all of our Veterans for every war they have fought and for the sacrifices they have made for this country.
Especially, the World War II Veterans; with the passing away of each one of these great hero's; we are losing a wealth of knowledge. These men and women were great patriots who loved their country, respected our flag, and truly believed in the words "God Bless America".
My Father's best friend and my best friend Howard Judd was one of these people. My Dad had died when I was three years old and growing up without a father is tough. It was Howard Judd who taught me everything I know about cars, who was always there to give good advice when I needed it. You could always count on Howard Judd, rain or shine, if you needed help you knew he would be there.
These were the kind of values the World War II generation held. They were soldiers for the cause and when they came home they were patriots and mentors. Beyond being my Friend and sharing his knowledge and experiences, Howard Judd taught me, the lessons of life.
Maybe some of you, have known your own Howard Judd; So on this Memorial Day while we are cooking on the grill, or at the beach, some state park or home in our own backyards: let us remember what this holiday truly represents and let us remember those who have gone before us with sincere thanks.
God Bless Our Veterans, God Bless Our Troops and God Bless America....
Have a Blessed Memorial Day.
The two terms of President Bill Clinton is a place in memory lane that Republicans want us to forget and some Democrats choose not to remember, Because it does not suit their own personal climb up the political ladder, or so at least that's what they think.
In going through some boxes of newspaper clippings my mom had saved over the years, I came across a business section from the Flint Journal, dated February 6, 1999.
Here are some excerpts stories from that business section:
Jobless rate remains low at 1999 start
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON - The American economy entered the new year on a tear, creating 245,000 jobs in sales, construction, computers and other fields and holding the unemployment rate at a 28 year low of 4.3 percent.
The government's first major economic report of the year, issued Friday by the Labor Department, showed January's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate matched the level achieved in December, April and, before that, in 1970.
The unemployment rate for whites was unchanged at 3.8 percent in January. But the rates for blacks, 7.8 percent, and Hispanics 6.6 percent, fell to the lowest levels since the government began tracking them in the early 1970's.
"It's a great time to be an American worker", said economist Bill Cheney of John Hancock in Boston. "The job market, except for manufacturing, remains remarkably vibrant."
The increase in employer's payrolls was nearly 100,000 more than expected by economists and came on top of a 298,000 increase in December.
"Sluggish (corporate) earnings and weak growth in the rest of the world should eventually temper the U.S. economy." said economist Gerald D. Cohen of Merrill Lynch. "However, that is not yet evident."
The report, along with private reports on auto and retail chain sales and manufacturing activity, shows the U.S. economy last month had considerable momentum after growing the final three months of 1998 at the fastest rate in 2 1/2 years.
It raises questions about how much longer the Federal Reserve can resist raising short-term interest rates. At Fed policy-makers' most recent meeting this week, they decided to hold rates unchanged.
But Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan expressed concern that labor shortages would propel wage increases, which in turn would drive up inflation.
But, Labor Secretary Alexis Herman said she wasn't worried about a rate increase.
"There are no signs of inflation...Productivity is in line with real wage gains. That's exactly the kind of balance you want to see." she said.
Friday's report showed the average hourly wages of nonsupervisory workers raising 6 cents in January to $13.04. It was the largest monthly increase since August. Over the year, hourly earnings have increased 50 cents, or 4 percent.
In a separate report, the Federal Reserve said consumer borrowing advanced at a strong 6.9 percent annual rate in December, to $1.34 trillion. The gain was led by auto loans, up at 15.9 percent rate, the fastest in a year.
During the Clinton years in the White House our economy flourished, people were working, the stock market was booming, and gasoline was $1.23 per gallon.
And it was the leadership team of two great Americans, President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton. And for all the nay sayers read the article below found on the same business section as above.
Recognized: Clinton lauds microenterprises
WASHINTON - President Clinton and the first lady are recognizing outstanding "microenterprises" and urging Congress to increase technical and training assistance to such small entrepreneurs. At a White House ceremony Friday honoring six sucessful microbusinesses, Clinton was highlighting a 159 percent increase for microenterprise in his fiscal 2000 budget. Microenterprises typically are businesses that employ five or fewer people and need less than $25,000 in credit to get up and running.
Under the leadership of the Clinton Presidency the economy was booming and those were good times for America. It will take a Clinton to undo the damage of George W. Bush. Hillary Clinton has the experience and the solutions to get America back on track. Senator Hillary Clinton needs to be our nominee for President.
