I think Obama and the Campaign Veep Committee has a Vice President contender right on the Committee. Her name is Caroline Kennedy the daugther of John F Kennedy. She is bright no baggage and would be a great Women to have on his ticket. It would to me make for a strong ticket. I am going to contact the Obama campaign and suggest they consider Caroline Kennedy for the 2nd spot on the ticket. How many Democrats on here like Caroline Kennedy and would support an Obama/Kennedy ticket?

Kennedy is joining Obama's VP search team.

I'm not sure....

It seems like a great COKE commercial....bringing back the Kennedy love and dynasty. But what are her real political accomplishments? How would she shore up his votes in the South? I think it might look like pandering for a Camelot vote *an* the female vote. She would be a great campaigner....but I'm looking more to someone like Wes Clark to strengthen the ticket.

Oh great way to choose a president, photo op cuteness factor. We will be in deep poo in that case. We are choosing a president and vice president, not an American Idol!

I agree with Blueberry. Obama needs someone who can bring more than the Kennedy name to the ticket. It's good that she is on the committee to help him decide the VP, but to have 'her' as the VP would be a mistake, IMO.

I agree Blueberry. Caroline will be great for exposure but I am not sure about her being in position as vice president. I too am impressed with Wesley Clark and possibly Jim Webb.

Not me

She is just as inexperienced as he is in many of the same areas.
He needs someone older and wiser who actually IS a politician. I mean if you say Caroline is good, then you might as well say he should choose Chelsea, or Amy Carter.

A Better Choice

Now that's a bit silly. The real choice for a VP is Bill Richardson. He's got tremendous experience; Secretary of Energy, UN ambassador, Govenor of New Mexico (with great success). He is called upon frequently still to travel to different parts of the world to work out solutions in very difficult situations. He is the one that could rectify our reputation in the world. He is well known and liked overseas. Lots of experience without the baggage. Could easily bring in working class, women and Latino vote.

I like Bill Richardson, too. He made be on the short list since Barack is trying to change the electoral map and Richardson could help with Colorado, New Mexico, etc. Richardson could be instrumental with Latino votes in Florida, New York, PA, etc.

Not a candidate for VP

But she does have experience in selecting people:

From WIKI:
Kennedy is an attorney, editor, and writer. She is one of the founders of the Profiles in Courage Award, given annually to a person who exemplifies the type of courage examined in her father's Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same name. The award is generally given to elected officials who, acting in accord with their conscience, risk their careers by pursuing a larger vision of the national, state or local interest in opposition to popular opinion or powerful pressures from their constituents.

Kennedy is currently President of the Kennedy Library Foundation, a director of both the Commission on Presidential Debates and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and Honorary Chairman of the American Ballet Theatre. She is also an adviser to the Harvard Institute of Politics, a living memorial to her father.

Change not Experience
By Progressive Democrat Jun 4th 2008 at 9:23 pm EDT
If your an Obama support its not about Experience its about Change.
Experience is what people do not want in a poll that has been consistant for weeks the top thing people want is Change.

Someone fresh with new ideas not experience as a seasoned politican.

I would say that Caroline Kennedy would be a great VP because of her lack of experience that would be the strength. She is well educated and can bring alot of the Country together in a United way .

I do not think anyone honestly can say they do not like Caroline Kennedy.
