WHO NEEDS A DEMOCRACY WHEN WE HAVE THE MEDIA TO MAKE UP OUR MINDS FOR US?
Bad? Brilliant?

Well, it's decided. The media had declared Obama will is the chosen one. Is the primary over, has the party spoken?
No, because the media says so. They have been trying to control this campaign from the beginning, and there is no doubt as to who they have wanted as the Democrat's nominee. Even Keith Olberman said, at the beginning of this camapign, that he thought Hillary Clinton was being "SAVAGED" by the media. Now, apparently because he prefers Obama, or maybe he wants to keep his job, he bashes her constantly?
How's this for irony. Olberman got into trouble back when the "Liberal Media," includuding MSNBC, was firing people like Phil Donahue for being "too anti-war."
When Olberman's job was on the line, Sen. Hillary Clinton and her family spoke up on his behalf and helped keep him from losing his show. Olberman himself has admitted that Hillary did this for him.
So, is Olberman doing whatever his bosses say to keep his job? Has Mr. OLberman no concept of loyalaty?! What a snake either way.

Dan Abrams took the complaints of anti-Hillary bias in the mnedia, that began very early in this campaign, seriously enough to actually do a study on this. The study found that thre were roughly TWICE AS MANY ANTI-HILLARY COMMENTS on the news media. A study by "Media Matters" showed that many of the attacks against Hillary were very sexist in nature.
But no one made a big deal about these studies. Why not? Are gender issues just plain not worthy of discussion? If it had been Obama in a racist manner, would such a study have been disregarded?

Yet proof that the "News" media has spent this entire camapign bashing Hillary, attacking the first viable woman presidential candidate, often in profoundly misogynistic comments, has gone unmentioned. Again, Why?
From the other end of the political spectrum, Lou Dobbs has said that, in his entire time working in the media, he has never before seen such blatant and unfair bais against any candidate, until Hillary Clinton dared to run for president. Again, Why is that?
It's time the media resumes it's job, REPORTING THE NEWS, not taking sides in a campaign and even declaring the "winner" weeks before the end of the primary. That's the job of the American people.

Keep in mind this is the same so called "Liberal Media," who blocked out Ted Koppel's "Nightline" in six states, for reading the names of fallen troops in Iraq. Who blocked out the showing of "Saving Private Ryan" in on third of the nation, so as not to dampen enthusiam for the war. So what is the reason for this "Liberal Media" bias against Hillary Clinton, a "News" media that is owned mostly by a handful of right wing extremeists?
Could it be these right wingers know Hillary is by far the stronger candidate against McCain? Naw, we all know the righties never would try to rig elections.

I'm not a mess. I'm mad as hell and wont be silenced by the sorry likes of you.

By the way, you might want to clean up a little yourself. For example, it's not "your" a mess. It's "you're" a mess. You see, "your" means something like ownership. "Your" command of the language is less than inspiring, for example?

By the way, I don't cry. I don't give in. I fight back . . . No Retreat, No Surrender.

Yes, yes you are. "You're" attacking my english not my principles. Hillary loses and "you are" crying and throwing sand. Dust the sand off and quit bein a baby.

How insulting it has been!

These media types have shoved Obama down our throats. They obviously see the public as a bunch of stupid cattle. Now they are discussing what chance Hillary has to win. Well, they say, she just stays in hoping some big scandal involving Barack will crop up. Let's see, like being a coke addict? How about attending a racist anti-American church for 20 years? I can mention quite a few more but I've made my point. No matter what surfaces, they will put on the spin, and talk it into oblivion.

sshhhuuuusshhh! We aren't allowed to talk about that stuff. This is Obama! I mean Obama, man! We can only praise him, just like the media. Obama can not sin. Just can't happen.

All hail the man who would be king. I'm just waiting to see what the reaction is when Obama declares himself the winner, as he's said he will.

Can you say backlash?

I sure can.

She never had a chance, thanks to the media
By Democrat in Waterville, OH May 9th 2008 at 7:16 pm EDT
I read that the leaders of the Democratic Party think that after June 3, Senator Clinton will be asked to step down gracefully, Senator Obama will be the chosen one, and the Party will heal. It is also believed that Senator Clinton's supporters will smile, say "All is forgiven, and Obama is our choice now".
Wrong.
Thanks to the media crowning Obama as the victor, and the leaders of the Democratic Party actually believing that the Democratic faithful will meekly accept him, many members have been brainwashed into calling for Senator Clinton to give up.
Also wrong.
The superdelegates are already pressured into declaring their support ahead of the convention.

There are millions of voters who cast their ballot for Senator Clinton in the primaries. I am one of those voters. I will not forget the lack of support shown by the Democratic Party leaders, nor the media's biased coverage and manipulation of the election. I will not support Obama if he is the choice at the National Convention. Instead, it is my intention to vote only for local and state candidates and issues, and I will not cast a vote for President to protest the actions of our Democratic Party leaders. I hope that all other Democrats across the country take a similar stance to protest the mess that our Party has left us. I am also seriously considering leaving the Democratic Party after the election to join the ranks of Independents. I have been a lifelong member of the Democratic Party, and I have come to believe that it is time to leave. I will not forget, nor will I throw any support to Senator Obama.

I agree. I'll also support local Democrats, but I am keeping track of those that support Obama. I won't vote for them. You are so correct about the Party leaders so sure we will all fall in line and support Obama. Too bad they won't get the message until November. I am an American first, a Democrat second, and I will not support a candidate that my very best thinking tells me is bad for this country.

OK, you Democrats in Irwin and Waterville: I like your idea. It would work best as a wide movement. How can we advertise this intention and recruit others to do the same?

Dirty politics....
By JEA May 10th 2008 at 1:05 am EDT
Wow, u got that right! That is the root of the problem of this country....remember when Gore ran, well, this is just another example of that. When I was younger, I didn't want to accept that the media and rigged elections were possible in this country...I mean, this is the USA, right??? But now, after this whole obvious ploy to fracture the Democratic party, it is blatantly obvious that the problem is for us as Americans to hunt down the people behind the scenes that are accountable. Makes me sick that the majority of the American population are too blind &/or stupid to see what is really going on. We have as a nation become too apathetic and just take our 'rights' for granted. For the most part, we have become like a bunch of lemmings, not thinking, and just following the rest over the cliff. 'They', whoever 'they' are, have managed to keep Americans so occupied with partying, paying bills, distractions by ridiculous entertainment (i.e. celebreties, reality shows, etc.) so we are to brain-numbed to see what is happening. Or even if we do, we are so tired or discouraged, that we don't do anything about it. Reminds me of King Louis IV o France's regime that held elaborate parties and required the public to attend and/or dress and act in a certain way to distract them from realizing how he was ruling the country, and keep them from revolting. It's time that ALL Americans join together to weed out the rats and get our country back on track b4 it's too late for our children. BTW, if you have teens/young adults as I do, you will notice that they have already picked up on how this country is in a downward spiral and I have heard countless times how my children and others of their age want to get an education (here or overseas) and leave b4 it's too late. I never would have thought that it could be this bad 20 years ago, but now it is so obvious, u would have to have blinders on not to see it. I never have and never will commit to a particular party. Elections, or any job, shouldn't be based on who you are associated with. It should solely be based on solid qualifications. This whole thing is like reverse racism. Goes to show that race is even more powerful than gender as well. I am an Independent, only chosen because we have to choose something to be a registered voter. I think the days of 'parties' need to be re-evaluated and gotten rid of. It's the person that counts.

I have lived overseas and been in quite a few 'backward' countries. If every American had a chance to do that, they would see that there are plenty of other beautiful and much more peaceful and simple places in the world to live. I love this country, but it is not perfect, just as no other country is,,,,people better get a clue fast because there are plenty other world powers that are just circling over our heads ready to dive on for the kill.
