Post from Hollywood:
The fuzzy logic of the anti-Obama brigade

I don't have to tell you who's spouting this tripe, you already know.

Some of them say, "McCain is American and Obama is not". Strange - Obama was born in the United States. McCain was born in Panama.

Some say, "Obama is Arab". No, Obama is half white American (English roots) and half Luo (Kenyan). Ralph Nader is Arab (both his parents were Lebanese immigrants).

But rather than pick up on McCain's being born in another country, or Ralph Nader's genealogy, they try to say Obama is two things he is not.

Now, a lot of people would say this is to do with race, but some of the same people have said they would happily vote for Colin Powell if he ran for President. As Colin Powell's parents were both born in Jamaica, I figured out what was happening.

These are Republican "talking points". So the people using these falsehoods against Obama are a combination of Republicans and rabid Hillarites who will use any old garbage to try to "punish" Obama for daring to run against Clinton. I believe if Clinton was the nominee, the latter group would make up stuff about McCain, and if Powell was her opponent, they'd make up stuff about Powell.

Most are not racists; only a handful are Republicans. The rest are just plain old sore losers.

"Ralph Nader is Arab (both his parents were Lebanese immigrants)."

...and they (Anti-Obama Trolls) either voted for Nader or have expressed that they will vote for him. Very interesting.

Who claims he's an Arab and that he's not American. So please spare me the BS. If you don't like him because of his policies or his political track record, then say so. Don't continue to lie about his ethnic origins or nationality.

Watching Obama Fight For Democratic Values
By D. Tree Jun 29th 2008 at 10:38 am EDT
as more and more people see Barack Obama fighting for the things that matter to them, I think they will come to understand he is not any of the mean, nasty things people say about him; rather, he is the person he claims to be, and he is sincerely fighting for the values we hold dear.

the more people see this, and the more they get to know about the things he has accomplished by working across the separations that divide us, i think they will come to love him as a candidate.

just wait until he takes the gloves off on John McCain, the republican party will not know what hit them!

will there be some who vote against him? you bet, just as in any general election there will be a lot.

but by all indications so far, the winner of this election will win by a landslide.

that is because we are at a turning point in our history, and if we need to leave some voters behind as we embark upon this grassroots and people powered revolution - only to show them the light once we do get a democrat in office - then so be it.

Perhaps

Some of us just don't believe he is the right person to lead our country.
Then why don't you just say so
By Hollywood Jun 29th 2008 at 11:58 am EDT
and stop resorting to Republican lies to attack him?

You have continually questioned his citizenship

I put this to you. He has a United States passport with the state and country of birth imprinted on it. He would have had to provide a legal copy of his birth certificate along with his passport application.

Since you obviously have never applied for a U.S. passport, you wouldn't know this. Those of us who have know the requirements.
