Worried about Gustav
By Democrat in Tyler, TX Aug 29th 2008 at 8:35 pm EDT (Updated Aug 29th 2008 at 8:35 pm EDT)
I have huge number of family members living in Port Arthur, Beaumont, Liberty and Houston, Texas. Some family members in Port Arthur have already called me to let me know they are coming to my home in Tyler Texas if mandatory evacuation occur. I am wondering if Tyler, Texas won't get some effects from Gustav as well. Oh Well, stocking up on air mattresses here because I have a HUGE FAMILY.

I'm here in New Orleans, and waiting to leave.

The levees are not all completed. The major levee on the Industrial Canal is completed; however, the storm is coming in from the west, and this puts the westbank of the Mississippi River at grave risk, and these levees are not completed. All are not scheduled for completion until 2011.
