I have seen some postings in the blogosphere on the pros and cons of certain individuals as running mates for Obama, with most of the cons complaining that we would lose a Senators or Governors seat to the GOP.Some say ,that Obama is doing so well in Indiana he wouldn't need an Evan Bayh for instance.NONSENSE!WE need a balanced ticket to win,and I believe that this election is going to be very close electorally! If we lose a seat in Indiana and gain 6 or seven nationally I'm thinking we come out a little ahead and take the White House to Boot! And if the number 2 spot goes to Joe Biden even better, because his seat in Deleware will almost certainly go Democrat...My favorite choice for veep ,with Hillary not in the running would be Biden, but I think Bayh might have a little more clout as far as what he can deliver electorally to the ticket...I know a lot of lefties will bark about his DLC leanings,I say seal the deal, pick the strongest ticket and leave the ideological extremes at the door...

Questioning Matty's recollections of an event and her positivity does not promote unity.

No Matty, it was only someone's perception and you have no control over that.

Sen. Clinton (D-NY)...

... deserves the first call on this. Her extremely close second place finish in the primaries earned her this, IMHO. If she'd decline, my second choice for VPOTUS would be Sen. Biden (D-DE). If Sen. Biden declined, which I don't think he would, I'd go with Sen. Bayh (D-IN).

It is my understanding that my state's governor, Tim Kaine (D-VA) is on the short list. I like Gov. Kaine. He has done a good job in VA with a Republican legislature. We Democrats took control of the state Senate last year, by a 21-19 margin. However, I think Gov. Kaine would not be a good choice for VPOTUS. It would turn VA over to the GOP as our LTGOV is a Republican as is our AG. Gov. Kaine would be better suited for Secretary of Transportation, IMHO.

She should of been asked but it is not going to happen. So now it should be someone that could run for President in eight years and there are few choices in that category. As of yet I have not heard of anyone that fits that wants the job.
