I`m supporting Brarack Obama because he are looking like a good leader and a honest politician ,
There are many candidates who s like that but one of the reasons that I`m supporting him is because he was against the Iraqwar from the begining and not needs to stand there and say that it was a misstake to vote for it ,
he seems to be a person who really cares about the people and what they wants.
I`m writing this just because everyone are telling me about John Edwards, Who I already have read about twice,
and still are thinking Obama wolud be a better president.

For some reason , people want to pretend that doesn't matter much but it does. Judgement trumps experience even though Obama has been in elected office longer than the other contenders. It's his judgement that makes him more qualified. He doesn't have to wait to be told to do the right thing. I can trust him in advance to do the right thing.

You're correct about Obama. You don't hear that cynical political talk very often from him. There is a sincerity in his speech that most of the other candidates lack. I'm old enough to remember Bobby Kennedy, and Obama gives me that same hopeful feeling that he will do something different.

Too many times people let their doubts rule when all they have to do is listen to their hearts.

Why
By RDillon Mar 30th 2007 at 11:33 am EDT
I support Edwards. Check out this quote:

At what point does Edwards hold an event where Elizabeth's health isn't mentioned? Trust us, the campaign doesn't want to be talking about this on a daily basis. It's a delicate thing for both the press and the campaign; it's the elephant in the room whenever someone is covering Edwards. The campaign hopes that her health isn't "in the room" when talking with possible Democratic caucus voters. To date, Edwards is winning the policy primary, but Democratic activists aren't indicating that they are that interested in policy just yet.
Labor ranking: 1 (But he doesn't have a lock, and unless a candidate can get a lock on labor, it diffuses enough that no one gets a true bump).

Link

First, the 1 rating from organized labor. Growing up in a union household I realize how important organized labor is and we have no better friend than John Edwards. Also notice this quote:

To date, Edwards is winning the policy primary, but Democratic activists aren't indicating that they are that interested in policy just yet.

Edwards has all the ideas and policies and even neutral people are noticing. Democrats need to start looking at policies, not personality, because policy is what will turn this country around, not hype.

Odd to address one's support for Edwards in a group for Obama. I like him too but he is not Presidential in his demeanor. He looks desperate most of the time. I am truly impressed with how Barack Obama conducts himself along with the wisdom that comes out of his mouth and he is four square for Organized Labor. He reminds me a lot of of Colin Powell who has great appeal for both Democrats and Republicans.

Many of us will work hard.
By Mike Jamieson Mar 30th 2007 at 4:50 pm EDT
Hi Celina. Many of us here in the USA will be
working hard to put Obama in the White House.
Real hard. May your hopes regarding this become
reality!

BTW, the polls (including latest Time Magazine one) show Obama as the strongest Democrat against GOP candidates.

We will be working very hard.

Many of us in Iowa are working hard to help Senator Obama get elected in 2008. I feel that he has what it takes to bring this country back together, and he has proven his judgement is sound. His honesty is a breath of fresh air.

A lot of us in California are working to elect Senator Obama our next President. I am a 72 year old independent thinker who has voted Democrat most of his life and I dont believe we have had a better qualified, more informed, honest and hard working candidate than the Junior Senator from Illinois. To our Republican friends, do not forget that a former Jr. Senator from Illinois became one of our best Presidents, Abraham Lincoln. I see a lot of Lincoln in Senator Obama.

I agree with you...
By Jessica Xu May 26th 2007 at 9:23 pm EDT
I totally agree with you, even though I can hardly call myself a fully fledged democrat, being only 11 years of age, and having started reading the news only 2-3 weeks ago, I think I've read enough about Sen. Obama to think that he is an honest person, and would help this society prosper and grow.

Tell your friends Jessica Lu. Start a club or something. Every bit of attention can help. Sometimes parents actually listen to their kids...try to make sure their folks are registered to vote. Try to get your group in the newspaper. Be repared to tell why you support Obama and want people to vote for him since you can't.

Why I support Sen. Obama
By Democrat in Mesquite, TX Jan 26th 2008 at 2:32 am EST
I'm voting for Obama because I believe in what he stands for. I was a long time Clinton supporter but listening to Sen. Obama he has won me over with his demeanor and his stance on the important issues. I'm on disability so I especially like where he stands on healthcare.

I support Obama because.....
By Democrat in Los Angeles, CA Feb 26th 2008 at 6:22 pm EST
He is an exhibit of what Americans have been pleading for for years. People will continue to argue his "inexperience" and his "blind ambitions", but from where I'm standing, he's where he's at today because he NOT any of those things. He comes from the background of a typical American whose family had very little. And here he is running for the president of the united states, how can anyone possibly challenge or recognize him as incompetent with what he's already achieved; not just for himself for but his country?

I support Senator Obama because I AM Obama.

Be Careful What you Wish For...
By Kay AZ Feb 27th 2008 at 1:53 am EST
I truly believe that the Republicans would like nothing better than to have Barrack Obama nominated. Notice how silent they are at the moment. They will eat him alive. Every moderate independent voter that I have spoken with says that if Barrack is nominated they will vote for McCain. Honestly, Barrack may be a nice guy with some decent ideas; however, who heard of him before late last year? I certainly did not. He has not done much in his very short tenure as a Senator. He has most recently proposed legislation (SR 2044, The Independent Contractor Proper Classification Act of 2007) which will allow the US Treasury to define independent contractors vs. employees and will hold employers to severe penalties for noncompliance. Republicans, especially business owners, will not take such further government intervention and regulation of free enterprise sitting down. They will fight back--loudly. It is not to say some of these ideas are not laudable. However, to get things done in Washington and in 4 years as President, you must know how to work within the existing system (as flawed as it might be) and you need to pick your battles. We Democrats will now be lucky if we win the election (and if we were unified we should have won this election handily),we will likewise be lucky if we can (1) get out troops home in some safe and reasoned method; and (2) get (universal) health care coverage for all Americans. We need to focus on these two issues and get them done. Hillary Clinton can get these done for America- she has done so much for all of us Americans throughout her career. If Barrack Obama is elected and we lose the election, you will have yet another election that the Democrats have completely messed up on their own. The Republican silence about Obama (and the support of the mainly Republican owned newspapers and media outlets for Obama) should tell all Democrats something. Be careful what you wish for!

A nominee by May
By johnnyk03 Mar 8th 2008 at 12:03 pm EST
Why can't the Democratic Party reduce the number of delegates to win the nomination by the total number of delegates that will not be counted by Florida (210) and Michigan (156)? The new number of delegates then becomes (2025-366=1,659). We would then have a nominee within the next few months. Why keep the number that was set when 50 states would be counted? Both states could then have a caucus and send delegates to the Convention based on the results. The States would pay for the caucus. Howard Dean would have made his point because a nominee would have been chosen not using those states votes. The states however, could send their delegates to the convention. There they would have a voice in ratifying the nominee and we would not have to depend on Super Delegates to determine the outcome of the process.

Obama support in the UK
By Michael Clark May 12th 2008 at 11:55 am EDT
I really do agree with everything here. He's really the first politician I know whom I would trust with literally anything.

Anyway, I wanted to say something about the state of support here in the UK. I help out with the campaign (I'm an American) so I hear plenty about him. There's a simple truth: THe British love him.

Also, the February 5th London primary results:

Clinton-433
Obama-998!!
