It sounds as though Sweden is looking to the USA for examples on how to disenfranchise the work force :o)

don't understand why Sweden, of all places, would follow America's lead on this?

How are they selling this to your people.

Here they use scare tactics.

vigilance and reporting is needed by citizens

Celina, it is part of globalization, a two part agreement between leaders of nations and leaders of corporations that leaves labor representation out of the picture. This is the direction we are headed as a world--not just the USA. 51 of the world top 100 largest economies are not nations but corporation. Corporations are trying to acquire recognitaion and status as nations but without any of the responsibilities to the people. Here are some of my posts on the topic.

Be sure to research on MAI, if it were not for France who withdrew from the deal in 1999 and for citizens groups here in the USA, we would be in much worse shape today than we already are.

51 of the World largest economies are Corporations

Vigilance and reporting are needed . . .

I have never heard of such a blatant invasion of privacy in a normally progressive country. I am not sure what is going on there, but I sure hope Norway has better sense than to allow this to occur. Norway is where I am headed if McCain wins!

Security?

I saw on the BBC website that your security service in most counties an oxymoron has new powers. Is your present government leaning to the right it sounds like it.I my 75 years I've seen my country go from a model social democracy to an autocracy that's part of the hard right turn we made. Now both our physical and social infrastructure are in asorry state.

I Swedish friends here in the US and I couldn't believe them when they told me about the government eavesdropping laws! i thought Sweden was so much more freedom loving than that... plus, I didn't know that Sweden was in danger from terrorism?

History has shown that some people will always be willing to give up their essential freedoms in exchange for temporary safety.... it even happened here in the USA with the passage of "The Patriot Act"

But we will not allow it to continue, too many people here love their freedom and protection from government intrusion. We will reverse this law eventually.
