That since the inception of the Internet the number of experts has grown by leaps and bounds. Especially in the blogosphere. Everybody now has the ability to find a source that supports their position, supply a link and cite it as fact.

Often times the link brings us to a columnist with an OPINION that supports our own belief, yes I said our belief because I know I'm guilty of this as well. We often forget that this is still just opinion.

I've been in the same trade for over 30 years and I still learn something new everyday about my trade. I've turned my trade into a moderately successful company and I learn something new everyday about business.

I may be an expert in my trade but that's about as close as I come to being an expert in anything.

I never graduated high school but I had my GED before my class graduated. I never went to college but I have some college credits. I hold an engineers license from the state of Mn. I've met some people who are full of common sense, yet they have no book learning. I've also met people full of book learning with zero common sense. I guess I fall somewhere in between.

On this site we seem to have trades people, nurses, Drs., Lawyers, writers, vets, party activist, home makers and some mystery occupations. My wife and I each own separate businesses, I'm in the trades and she has a fairly successful accounting firm.

I'm not exactly sure why I'm writing this but I have been thinking of it for awhile. The point I'm getting at is I wonder why people still stand on other people's candidate in an effort to gain stature for theirs. This has been written on before on this site to no end. This is not a plea for everyone to make nice, I'm convinced that ain't gonna happen. It's just that I learned along time ago that you can't throw mud without getting dirty yourself. I'm no pollyanna and I'm not entirely innocent myself, but I try to save my wrath for special occasions. I don't turn the other cheek easily but I won't let another persons hate dictate my life either.

On this site I ask questions, try and share topical and timely articles. Make occasional lame attempts at humor or contribute to the conversation that others have started if I have something to contribute.

We collectively have a vastly varied background of experience. For me, I've got many interests. I read constantly. I've read 2 newspapers everyday since I've been 12 years old. I've been an avid reader of history, science and politics for many years. I'm no expert in any of those fields (duh), but I know more than some, less than others. I think I, as well as the majority of Party Builders fall in the same category, fairly well rounded folks with some common sense. We do have our professionals in certain fields and I wish we could use them more to our collective advantage. From what I've seen here, there are many passionate people with allot to say. People with legal experience, people who have been in the political trenches longer than me with real grass roots building experience. I'll point out Carrissa for example, look what she's doing for Military spouses. She should be our standard barer.

Well that's enough for now, my pressure relief valve has been reset. Please remember, no one here is better than anyone else. Some are smarter, some have more life experience, some are better critical thinkers and some have more common sense. Remember that please before you write or post another negative post about our candidates or another Party Builder. I'll even try to bury the hatchet with Ham, we'll see how that goes.

You know, I just re read this before publishing and I still don't know why I wrote this. Here I go, I'm gonna hit the 'publish post' button and let the chips fall where they may.

Got a firehose to wash off all that mud?!

Good luck, lone ranger....we already know you've got more common sense than the average bear or PartyBuilder, for that matter. :)

Thanks Kathleen, I'm still trying to figure out why I wrote that. Just venting I guess.

I noticed.

Sounds like you captured what unifies the Democratic party, lots of people, with lots of ideas.

Within our party of "people that rule," there are liberals, progressives, moderates, social conservatism, centrists (Hillary)...
Link

WE have: Economists, Professionals, Academicians, Organized Labor Unions (AFL CIO), Middle, Working, Working Poor, Upper Middle, Under class (99% of whole pie), these are people making less than $200,000./yr...the tax payers.

There are lots of people here I disagree with but I respect for the most part, I mostly agree with you on most issues but I disagree with My Vote on him never being able to support any Dem candidate. But he makes a great argument and I respect that. I guess mutual respect is what I was after here.

How do we turn our passions into reality?

For what it's worth

Mike Link just posted this post on the main blog. Wow!

It just goes to show you that a person never knows what is gonna capture peoples attention.

That was kinda my point, I feel passion for many subjects and I write a post, the response nothing! I write post that's so so and it grabs Mike Link's attention. It's weird what gets people to talk isn't it?

Just so you know...I always appreciate your input and insights.
Our differences make us strong.
Tolerance of everyone's opinion will make us stronger.
Please forgive my passionate replys, my intent is never to offend anyone.

Back at you, I'm guilty of passion myself. We're good! It's funny how passion can also alienate isn't it? I try to stay in the middle, not overtly offending anyone...but I can be stubborn.

Well said

Excellent post. As Spock once said, "your thoughts to my thoughts", or something like that. I think you nailed it about the Dems and diversity. Me I'm here to learn something. I've never been a political person until I worked for Mark Ritchie (the now MN Sec. of State) to make sure we got someone in office who would count every legal vote. Now I have a realted post I need to write. ;-)
