Let's talk - let's not talk
By Letitrip Jul 17th 2008 at 7:32 pm EDT
What Jesse said was true, BO panders to whites by talking the way he did to blacks. To Jesse, he spoke negatively, instead of uplifting like Jesse. In reality, BO talked about black fathers failing to take care of their offspring causing these children to commit crimes, and do drugs. Whites don't cause this, black fathers do. What Jesse said, what FOX did (putting this private comment out there for all to see) only focus's the spotlight on problems within the black community, then keeps it on the racism plate because the minute whites respond to say the things I just did, nails fly. Then the focus is on white-black relations instead of their own responsibility in life and how they blame us for their failures.

BTW, see the black sisters that made it to the Olympics? Onward to the tennis match.

I don't know many people who would say Jesse is "uplifting"- at least not since his own dirt was exposed in terms of his having a baby with an aide and using his coalition funds to pay for her personal expenses.

Regardless of color, what Jesse said was WAY out of line IMHO.

Sorry, I don't really follow the Olympics :)

well being black I guess I might have a little bit of clout and can address your comment.

it's an issue in the african american community among other things.

jesse was wrong - not because of who he is - but for his reason for saying it. he has yet to honestly admit why he feels the way he does. i believe it was personal and a very stupid thing to say.

barack does not talk "down" to black people - he doesn't talk down to anyone.

no one black that I know feels that way and I know quite a few black folks.

as a matter of fact - at the last meeting of black folks we have decided to renounce jesse jackson and permanently take away his black club priveleges.

needs to stay off Fox. Just a stupid thing to say and he was not right and he is NOT the voice of the African American community.

So the solution is to stay off Fox? I don't follow. Are you saying it would have been OK if he'd have done it on CBS?
