Whether you are from Maine or not, we need to elect Tom Allen to the Senate. For those of you who don't know of him, Tom Allen has been in the US House of Reps for the past 10 1/2 years and has an amazing progressive voting record. His opponent, on the other hand, does not.

Susan Collins still supports the war in Iraq. She voted for Alito. She voted for the Patriot Act and the FISA bill. She voted for the Bush tax cuts. She has been the rubber stamp of the Bush administration. Tom Allen will bring progressive ideas and actions to the US Senate.

This race is of vital importance as it is one of a very few areas where we can swing the senate from a Republican seat to a Democratic one. I urge everyone to help Tom win!  If you can afford to do so, please donate to his campaign.  Whether you live in the state or not, please register on his website:  www.tomallen.org  for his email updates.   And please, spread the word.  I cannot speak highly enough of Tom Allen.  We need him in the Senate!

All I can say to this is, let it be so!! With Tom
Allen running for the Senate, who is running to fill his spot in the House? He has been a very good
Rep for Maine (I voted for him), and will do Maine proud as a Senator!!

There is a crowded field of terrific Democratic candidates to fill his seat. Let's see if I can name them all: Chellie Pingree, Mark Lawrence, Michael Brennan, Ethan Strimling, Adam Cote, and Jill Dutson. (I think that is it...)

I actually only read the first paragraph of your post before commenting, so now I must add that Susan
Collins has been a rubber-stamp for the republican revolution since taking over after Bill Cohen accepted the Sec. of Defense position from Bill Clinton.

In thinking about this inference I can realize the similarity, and also the locality of our House Representatives, because our House Rep here in 29-NY is the same exactly the same type of rubber stamper. I hope the Maine Democratic Party has a good replacement for Tom Allen to continue his work for Maine.

It's a cake walk

Is Tom Allen that ole war-mongering the best that the Maine Dems can come up with? We told Allen time and time again since the war in Iraq started that unless he spoke out against the war and voted to refuse funding for the war that Democrats all over the state of Maine will either bolt to the Greens or vote for Suzie Q...at least we know where she stands ...or in my case not vote at all.
It's better to vote for what you want and NOT get it...than to vote for what you DON'T want and get it.
We do not trust Tom.
Tom's staff has been insulting to Military Families Speak Out...For example his aid in DC told a member of MFSO..when she complained about the war...that her son "had volunteered, hadn't he?"
