Last night, I attended a delegate training meeting in preparation for our state convention next weekend. In light of the recent contentious relationship between candidate groups, I put on ALL my cheerleader buttons...Obama, Hillary and Edwards. This brought out quite a few smiles at the meeting and I was extremely pleased by the consensus of the group - elect a Democrat to the White House!

When I returned home, my youngest daughter - age 6 - asked to wear my Hillary pin. I asked her why she liked Hillary and my daughter responded, "Girls rock!"

Then I said, "But I thought Edwards was your favorite." She replied in a serious tone and a frown, "He's a quitter." (Apparently, she remembered quite well my grieving stage over Edwards "suspending" his campaign.)

So this Mother's Day, I'm not going to feel guilty about my lack of housekeeping skills compared to my mother's or my lack of cooking skills next to my grandmother's...I'm going to remind myself that at least I've been able to continue the family line of strong, caring, politically-active women in our family.

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Peace.

:) We would not be Democrats if we didn't have differences and spirited conversations.

The opposite of love is not hate...it is apathy. Cheers to your mother and all the mothers of people on this site for not raising apathetic citizens.

I know many people see you as a mother figure. You sure are honored! Happy Mother and Mother's Figure Day! Thank you for helping me, when I first, got here. Tell your daughter John never quits, on other people. or the American Dream! I thank her for her Hillary support, as, I am stunned, a strong woman like Hillary has even been treated like her accomplishments are a big whooping nothing. I, personally, was "going" after the six year old vote! LOL! You are brave and valliant wearing all 3 pins! Soldier on Blueberry-- hot mama! I think Hillary is a hot mama, too; pantsuit mama!

Thank you for sharing this with us. It put a smile on my face and I needed one right now. I missed it Sunday but guess I wasn't meant to see it until now.
