The Traveling Troupe had a great day on Saturday, April 21, 2007, and I'd like to tell you a little bit about our first two (ever!) Recruitment Excursions.

The Spokane County Democratic Central Committee quarterly meeting was convened at Carpenters Hall Saturday morning, and the Troupe was mentioned several times. During the Good of the Order, I told them what we do. Several people approached me saying that they'd like to join. So, we should expect some new members as a result of that gathering. It turned out to be a good Recruiting Excursion, even though it wasn't planned that way.

Immediately following the SCDCC meeting, Andrew Brewer (who provided 133 passenger-miles of carpooling) drove Nan Ingalls, Coralee Brewer and Brian A. Sayrs to the 7th LD quarterly meeting at Reardan's community building. This is a great group of folks! They had fried chicken, spaghetti, green beans, salad and rolls ready for the hungry travelers from all around the northeastern corner of the state. Those Lincoln County folk sure do know how to set a table!

Guessing, there were roughly 30-40 people at the meeting, including fellow Troupers Nancy and Gordon Ellis and Walt Kloefkorn. Walt and I made a quick presentation toward the end of the well-run, two-hour meeting (props to 7th LD Chair Ellen Miller) and the room was electric. We've got a great group of Democrats out in the 7th who will truly appreciate our upcoming efforts!

They observed that this was a huge gathering of Democrats in the 7th, compared to years past. Gordon said that just a few years ago there were only 3 participants at a 7th LD organization meeting! And, hopefully, the participation of the Traveling Troupe resulted in increased revenues for their operations. I'm figuring that they raised a couple hundred dollars on an annual budget of $1000. So, it appeared that it was a pretty good day for the 7th.

The Traveling Troupe has quite a reputation even before we've even embarked on the 2007 Outreach Campaign. What I think is so great about the concept is that we can help out our brothers and sisters in rural 5th CD communities and have fun doing it! I should have the schedule out this week. Are you ready?

Democrats Everywhere All the Time!

A True Patriot, Must listen to

If you are tired of politics as usual, you must listen to this Link Send it to your contacts.

You will hear a candidate who speaks the truth, does not dance around, is not held hostage by Special Interest Groups. This candidate had the guts to file a bill to get us out of the Iraq debacle. He wants government as transparent as possible.

This is a Proven, True Patriot, with the experience to lead this country, unlike Hillary, John, Barack.

Thanks,
Rick Linet
