To be fair to Obama (and his supporters)
By average guy Jun 2nd 2008 at 8:56 am EDT
Obama blind sided Clinton with the AFrican american vote. All good in political terms. Blindsiding an opponent is a well established, and valid way to win in lot's of things. And, to be fair to Obama and his supporters, THEY PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTHS WERE. That cannot be discounted. The BO supporters are WAY more individually excited and determined to have Obama, than we Clinton supporters. We've whooped up a big stink, but kept our wallets relatively closed.

In the general election, that ground swell of money will make a huge difference. The blindsiding factor will be lost though. You can only come out of the shadows once, you're under the harsh spot light from then on.

Like it or not, many millions of people are AFRAID that Obama is a supper left-wing radical. If he wants to win the general he's going to have to say things that his groundswell base doesn't like.

Cassandra

A Cassandra that can't spell or use proper grammar has no credibility.

BTW, elections are not win/lose occasions; they're a hiring process in which the voters are the true agents of choice.
If you don't like the candidates, fine.

As Senator Clinton said in New Hampshire, if the war in Iraq is most important and the voters disapprove of her support for the authorization to use force, there are others to choose from.

That's as true now as it was back in 2007.

Wake up!!
By Democrat in Windermere, FL Jun 2nd 2008 at 9:13 am EDT
I hope this train stops timely in it tracks before it derails in November and everybody wonders what happened. The Democratic party should think real hard if they want to take Mr. Obama to the altar and try to win the election with him. One word says it all " baggage" . This groom may look great at the altar but that will fade away very quickly when the Repbublican party will do their number on him. He is just not electable for many reasons . Too many undecided voters will sway the other way. I hope the leaders of this party will wake up from their euphoria and choose the candidate the Republicans are the most afraid of, Hillary Clinton. On her there is no new dirt to dig up because it's all been done before. I am an independent and planned to vote Democrat. I just can't vote for Obama.

The democratic party will not be talking him to the altar but the White House and the podium. You al, give the republicans too much weight. Primary campaigning was one thing, the general election is another way of campaining. Could it be that the republicans really wanted HRC because they are afraid of BO. They know some who are behind the scenes campaigning for him and truth be told they should be scaredecause he will be the POTUS.
