Hussein? Are You Kidding?

After reading just one too many letters in my local paper, literally pushing the Barack Obama's middle name, without saying why.....being one of those who KNOWS why, the following was my response to my local paper:
I keep noticing how some on the extreme fringe right make sure that we all know that Senator Barack Obama's middle name is Hussein. Is it supposed to scare people? I mean really, a name? They never, for instance, mention Sarah Palin's full name. Sarah Louise Heath Palin. I saw that and thought "Oh my gosh!! She's English!!". And with my roots being so dominantly Scottish and Irish I couldn't help but think...."Is she going to bring the wrath of the British Empire back down on us??" Of course, then I remembered.....her running mate's name is McCain.
Everytime in my adult life that I have heard the name Hussein, there is one really bad reference in my mind and now, two really good ones.
Of course, Saddam Hussein...you know the guy responsible for bringing down the towers and killing on 9/11 over 3000 people on American soil......oh wait, that guys real name is Osama....now that sounds somewhat scarier. But when I realize that the Republican Party forgot who Osama bin Laden was for so long......that can't be too scary to those who have voted for them over the past 8 years.
So what did Saddam do that should scare us? Nothing that I can think of. I mean he was a bad guy.....he killed many political prisoners and gassed his own people. But is that much worse than Fidel Castro? Wow, that's the same last name as Jason Castro, the talented boy from Rockwall, Texas (20 minutes from my house), who did so well this past season on American Idol! He doesn't seem all that scary.....but then again.......there's that name, so it must mean something!
Anyway, the other two references that come to mind when I hear the name Hussein are very, very positive to me.
The first, the late King Hussein of Jordan who was a longtime ally of the United States, and whose widow is an American.
The other is Senator Barack Hussein Obama, the next President of the United States of America. And what exactly is Sarah Palin and John McCain hiding by not using their middle names like some people think Senator Obama is doing.
I realize that some are frightened to death of Muslims. And that is understandable to an extent, those Muslims from Iraq....wait, Saudi Arabia, attacked us. But I am a lifelong Southern Baptist. I have been taught since childhood to also have problems with such anti-Christian religions as Mormons and Catholics!
And keep in mind, Senator Barack Hussein Obama is a member of the Church of Christ. And what's more, these people know it.
They are so afraid that their party can't win on the issues, since they were the ones that gave us the mess we are in right now. And they are so afraid that the Supreme Court probably won't get the opportunity to appoint Senator John McCain....that good ole celtic name just rolls off the tongue.
Now if you really want to be scared, think about this. Senator McCain, a personal hero of mine, is 72 years old and had two bouts with cancer. The person he is wanting you to allow him to bring within a heartbeat of being the most powerful person in the world, should his health falter from having the most pressure filled job in the history of the world, is a woman who was the mayor of a town smaller than Commerce, and who was elected, less than two years ago to be governor of a state that has less population than the city of Austin, Texas. Who everytime she opens her mouth, Senator Obama rises in the polls.
Now that is something that, along with 4 more years of Bush policies that have worked so well for the middle class, is really scary!!

Every time she opens her mouth, it's a pure utterance of nonsense. She definitely couldn't have British roots. So why else did McCain choose her? We know it's not for her smarts and, experience on foreign affairs, with Russia and Canada being in Alaska. McCain must have chosen her for her beauty pageant looks, and cheerleader abilities to rally supporters. Well it backfired in favor of Obama. So now they must resort to condescending tactics, and name calling.
So for you Republicans who I know are reading the blogs on this website. Here's my advice. Use common sense, good judgment of character, understand the ramifications of voting for puppetry and lack of vision and leadership. Do yourselves a real favor, the nation for that matter, and vote Obama. McCain and Palin are about putting money in their pockets. It's time you put money in your pockets. Vote Omama and hell stuff your pockets full as he puts our nation back on track to financial recovery.
But don't insult the Russians. I live in Alaska and have worked with Russians, they're hard working and quiet people. Makes me sick when people had mouth them or use them in their jokes. We no longer find it kosher to tell Jewish, Irish, Black...etc jokes, so we shouldn't use them either. We need to build friendships with our neighbors and when you do, they don't want to harm a friend.
Let this duo continue to spew crap, people see through it, just counter it with truth nicely. They're using a technique called turnspeak, but we're not confused, SHE is. Funny how she wants us to believe we're confused and she botched in on Katie Couric interview.
Go start a thread and get others opinion on your OPINION or FACT, and just accept what people say with a grain of salt instead of getting so worked up.

1) If you want to talk about a name sounding scary, referring to "Palin", let's talk about a name that not only sounds scary, but IS scary - that would be Barack HUSSEIN Obama - not only does it sound Muslim, it is Muslim (named after BHO, Sr - a known Muslim).
2) Why shudder at the name Hussein? Because it is a Muslim name and happens to be the name of the candidate you support - who by the way, attended a "madrassa" for 5 years in Indonesia (madrassa is a radical Muslim religious school) and, yes, he did attend other schools as well.
3)And I believe you stated that you compared Saddam Hussein to Fidel Castro.. (NO comparison!!!) and stated that Saddam Hussein just murdered a few thousand of his people as though that was, well O.K. since it was just a few thousand. How many is not O.K.? And I guess it's O.K. with you that he and his sons brought teenaged girls (say 13-15 years old) to their castle and drugged and raped them - then if their families protested, Saddam would just kidnap the little brother, behead him and send the decapitated head to the parents as a gift - I guess that's not awful enough for you - or is it because you just aren't informed???
4) You want to make fun of Palin for some of her comments - you act as though she is stupid. Do you recall your wonderful candidate stating that there are 57 states? Or maybe you don't know how many there are... and oh by-the-way, Sarah Palin had to raise her own money (via beauty pagents, hard work) to attend college, unlike Barack Obama, who basically had a free ride through college because he is a minority.... All you young students out there, how many of you are getting a free ride through college? (I know I did't get a "free anything")
5) I'm glad you brought up character - Biden & Obama combined do not have half the character of McCain or Palin. Character is one of the most important traits a presidential candidate can have. How can Obama have outstanding character when he sits in the United Church of Christ for 20 years and listens (approves of) to Rev. Wright spew hatred for America - a church who posts on their website "their non-negotiable commitment to Africa, the cradle of civilization." Obama is influenced so much by Wright, that is the reason that he didn't wear a lapel pin or place his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. Only now that the dust has settled has he started wearing the pin, how ingenuine is that? and this is the reason that Michelle Obama (until now) has never been proud of America!!! Even though , she got all kinds of free scholarships to college and law school, and even then wrote vile papers seething hatred for America! And if that isn't bad enough, Obama is friends with Bill Ayers who is proud to admit that he bombed our Federal buildings and only wishes he had bombed more. And then there is the Resko association, where Resko is being investigated for fraud. Character?? What is Character to you?
6) You need to research the Community Reinvestment Act.. The liberal Democrat Jimmy Carter is responsible for that piece of legislation that was the beginning of this whole financial crisis by issuing sub-prime loans - meaning loans issued to people who didn't qualify for them; and then comes along Bill Clinton who deregulates the whole mortgage industry allowing Jim Johnson & Franklin Rains to receive MILLIONS of dollars in bonuses (in other words -yours and my tax dollars) from Fannie & Freddie and just passed on $700,000 to Barack Obama. They also received sweetheart mortgages (I guarantee you - you and I didn't receive mortgagees with low interest rates like they got) plus, Obama received 49 times more lobby money than any other senator!!!! check it out!!! In 2005 McCain led legislation to get the mortgage crises straightened out, but Dem Barney Frank blocked it.. they wanted all the bonuses to continue.. the dems had majority control of congress and controlled all of it.... they (the dems) could have voted "yes" on Monday for this bail-out all by themselves...(because they have the majority of representatives and senators) they didn't need the republicans to vote... they just didn't want all the negative press, because people like you and me don't want to be in debt for the next 100 years!!!
7) Re taxes,Senator Obama has raised taxes 16 times in Illinois - more than any other senator in the history of Illinois- the citizens of Illinois pay more taxes than anyone in any other state. (cigarette, gas, food, etc tax)Trust me, he will raise your taxes!!!
8) Just FYI, Sarah Palin runs a government (Government of Alaska) that is four times the size of Arkansas's government when Bill Clinton was Govenor and ran for president, but that was enough experience for him to become president, why not her? and by the way, Alaska is ranked 4th (out of 50 states) in best run governments in America. Liberal California has a billion dollar deficit. So, you just might want to reconsider who your want running this country. Thanks for reading. :-)

May I ask why the Name calling? What exactly is it that I said that makes me a racist? Name one thing! I didn't agree with what you said, but I didn't call you names.
The fact is everything that I wrote can be investigated and will be found to be true. What you wrote is just your opinion. Which is fine, but let's be clear about that fact.
If the truth is scary, then so be it. As Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer, says, "It is what it is." I am not trying to scare anyone, just state the facts. The fact that Barack Hussein Obama's father was a Muslim is a fact...and that can't be changed.... and that makes Barack Obama a descendent of a Muslim! He attended Muslim schools. That is a fact.
Saddam Hussein committed so many atrocities, they can't even be stated here. That is just telling it like it is, not trying to scare anyone, just inform them!!! Why do you call that a scare tactic? When someone states the true fact, that's a scare tactic? I just need to understand the playing field here.
But let's move on to the issues. Name one thing that makes Barack Obama qualified to be president. Name just one thing. The fact is, he is all talk. And he is fantastic at giving speeches!!! But that does not make a candidate qualified to be president. Name one piece of legislatiion that he has proposed in the Senate. Can't name one... He has been there to vote and that is it. Just because he has been in the Senate for less that 2 years does not make him qualified to be president. That is equivalent to a teacher teaching for 1-2 years and then becoming Superintendent of the school system! Or like an attorney practicing law for about 1-2 years and then becoming Supreme Justice!! (and there are all different types of attorneys, trial lawyers, estate lawyers, etc) Or lets say, a family practice medical doctor practicing medicine for 1-2 years and then becoming Chief Surgeon General. Do you think these professions should just waltz into these positions? I certainly don't think so. I think you get the point.

I think I know where you are coming from. Yes, there are many people upset with the economy today. I know I am... But, you are dreaming if you think Obama has the experience or the answers to fix it. Change, have you asked yourself: Change to What? What kind of change? Change from what to what? These are very complicated issues. He has not given one real example of what "change" means. He just talks about change. Everyone assumes that he means change for the better. Maybe it is change for the worse??!!!...
I'm not voting for Obama because of his race, and by the way what race is he? Everyone says he is the first black man to run for president. What happened to the other 50% of his DNA. He is half white isn't he. Then isn't he white? Why is he black instead of white? Does black trump white? How exactly does that work?
Why all the attacks on Bristol Palin being 17, pregnant and not married? Wasn't Barack Obama's mother 17, and pregnant with Barack, and not married when she got pregnant? Hello? That doesn't matter to me. Why does Bristol matter so much to the dems?
Look, I know you have your opinions, so do I. When I was young and misinformed and influenced by my parents, I voted democratic. I grew up in a democratic household. I voted for every democratic candidate on the ticket. In other words, I voted party, not for the best candidate. The last democratic president I voted for was Jimmy Carter. Boy was that a big mistake. He was probably the biggest joke for a president in the history of the United States; and I voted for him!!!! Since then, I have learned to research the issues, and be more informed about who I vote for. I know that I cannot change your mind, and that is fine. But, let's just be straight about the real truth... And that, my dear, is the advice I wish to share with you. (And I know you don't want my advice.)
Second, Palin is an idiot!
Third, Muslims belong to a religion that I don't agree with....just like I was taught about Catholics and Mormons by the Southern Baptists!
Fourth, Barack Obama is ten times more qualified to be president than George W. Bush was.
Fifth, a 72 year old man, who was put thru the ringer, almost literally, in Vietnam and has already had two boughts with cancer and going into, possibly, the most pressure filled job in the history of the world, decides to pick as his running mate someone who isn't even qualified to be a Senator to take his place should he not be able to complete his term.
Now, I understand that she has already been in that position, as runner-up in the 1982 Miss Alaska contest, she was always on her game in case the winner wasn't able to complete HER term as Miss Alaska.......but GEEZ.....
