The surge secret is that Petraus put Iraq back to the way it was when we invaded, with the Iraq Army providing security between the three factions. The Mission Accomplished set off the Bush Blunders that cost US a Bush Civil War. When Bush flew onto that aircraft carrier in a flight suit and unfurled the Mission Accomplished if was the start of the Blackwater campaign. When Bush took the American in charge of Iraq that was getting things done in the Arab way, and then Bush appointed Bremer, who fired the whole damn Iraqi Army making them choose one of three sides in this Bush made civil war for carpetbaggers. Bremer did not have the troops to provide addditional security without major flaws in the system and his Blackwater Corporate Armies were running amuk shooting at everyone causing more anguish.

What Petraus did was to re-institude the Sunni militias, and work with the factions like what had been done for centuries. He did what was being done pre-Bremer days. In other words he countermanded the Bush doctrine of redefined Iraqi Bush Freedom and Democracy. It is like after Bush leaves office, it will take a year to undo all his Constitutional damage and abuses that he has done to this nation.

The Surge should be called The Anti-Bremer Campaign.
