first quest
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 9:07 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:07 pm EDT)
What is the fastest way to help people in these economic conditions?
Re: first quest
By Jan CO Oct 7th 2008 at 9:15 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:15 pm EDT)
Second questions, how will the fiscal recorery package help people? McCain did not answer that question at all in any way.

: ) HIYA DEB!
In Tune
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 9:22 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:22 pm EDT)
Barack is more in tune with the economy issues - and has a clearer perspective and more specifics.

not just chanting "reform" - he is actually definng his plan - now not everyone can grasp the entire problem because its over most of our heads - Barack has a plan lined out.

McCain is talking about working with Lieberman and coming up a plan and looking at rhetoric and "talking" to watchdog organizations.

BUT WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW MCCAIN?

another non answer answer from mccain.

October surprise
By Steve Wilson Oct 7th 2008 at 9:19 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:19 pm EDT)
McCain proposes to nationalize the entire mortgage market. Wow!
Re: October surprise
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 9:23 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:23 pm EDT)

reforms again
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 9:25 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:25 pm EDT)
why does mccain saying him and Lieberman? he didn't pick lieberman as his running mate....i guess that guy wasn't cute enough.
Re: reforms again
By Jan CO Oct 7th 2008 at 9:27 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:27 pm EDT)
LOL yeah, that and Liberman isn't a Democrat anymore and even when he said he was he wasn't.

By Jan CO Oct 7th 2008 at 9:26 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:26 pm EDT)

I wish...
By snakelips Oct 7th 2008 at 9:34 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:34 pm EDT)
I wish someone would have the balls to say that the best way to get out of debt is CUT SPENDING...across the board, but with the biggest cuts in those programs which are not constitutionally mandated be done by the federal gov't.

Oh, wait...McCain just said something about it...

Re: I wish...
By snakelips Oct 7th 2008 at 9:36 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:36 pm EDT)
...And have the balls to quit telling me what gov't is going to "do for me". F that! Tell me how gov't is going to get out of my business and focus on defending the country and securing our borders!

Re: I wish...
By snakelips Oct 7th 2008 at 9:40 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 9:40 pm EDT)
...And how about eliminating capital gains taxes and slashing corporate income taxes (while plugging all those ridiculous loopholes)? If you want to see money gushing back into this country, those would be a fine way to start.

And here are two senators who are IN FREAKIN' CONGRESS and have the power to do those things. Of course, Obama can't be held too responsible...he's only been there for a short time.

Tom Brokaw????
By marsha Oct 7th 2008 at 10:16 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 10:16 pm EDT)
Is anyone else ticked @ Brokaw?????
What's with the questions from him???
I thought this was a forum????
The time issue seems to come up when Barack speaks and I have not seen him give approval for Barack to rebutt McCain...
Grrrrr.
peace,
marsha
Re: Tom Brokaw????
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT)
brokaw has issues. not a good moderator. he had something to do (i believe) with the olberman switch.
Re: Tom Brokaw????
By Deb Wiliams Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT)
in other words - this is a canned debate.
Re: Tom Brokaw????
By Donia19 Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 10:19 pm EDT)
This was Brokaw's way of trying to control the debate. Initially, there never was time for Barack to do a follow-up, and he allowed McCain to use up time in the early parts of the debate without calling time. When Barack tried to do it - there was never enough time.

Barack - then figured it out, and ignored Brokaw, and made his own time!

Hurrah - Barack!!!!

Barack is doing great. You can't be that close to him and not pick up the "vib". He's a good man and it comes across.
McCain is sunk, Brokaw or no Brokaw.

marsha

Re: Tom Brokaw????
By Jim A. Oct 7th 2008 at 10:37 pm EDT (Updated Oct 7th 2008 at 10:37 pm EDT)
