Can an HRC supporter please tell me how it benefits HRC to vote against her party if she is not the nominee?

She is not leaving the party and has not threatened too.

So why are you leaving her?

I thought you guys respected and admired her so much that you'd follow her example. You have been all along, so now why would YOU her devoted supporters turn your back on her on?

What if, by your actions of party dividing, it went down in the history books that HRC and those that supported her split the party and gave the WH to repubs out of sheer spite.

Doubt that she'd want THAT label or black cloud hanging over the rest of her politcal career.

One thing I give HRC, she's not a quitter and she doesn't give up simply because things aren't going her way all the time. That's obvious.

She has NEVER threatened to leave the dem party or move abroad either. Statements like that are divisive and immature.

Sure I entertained the thought of abstaining if Barack were not the nominee, but what the heck good would that do me?? Another 4 years of a repub admin who's views, platform, and self righteous rhetoric, I strongly oppose. I may be somethings, but I am no fool.

That quality of commitment HRC is demonstrating by staying in this primary until the end is diminished by the very one's SHE states she's doing it all for in the first place.

I'm hoping it's venting - and they will follow her lead.

Right now - it seems that 40% of all posts say they are leaving.

well

Deborah, Hillary has been a great inspiration to many of us that support her. This site is not helpful,at this time, for many of us. Too much anger from some Obama supporters if we even hint that we might not vote for him. It is not healthy nor does it help with the unity efforts.

I am waiting for Hillary....the race is not over and it is too soon to declare victory. As I said earlier, remember the fable about the turtle and the hare?
Re: well
By Deborah Williams May 9th 2008 at 3:32 pm EDT
the frustration is with the attitude that if the mindset is to not vote for Barack because HRC is not the nominee, you've got to be either 1) abstaining or 2) voting McCain. Either way thats turning one's back for spite.
Re: well
By pcmoore28 May 9th 2008 at 3:52 pm EDT
I disagree....some of us are principled voters that are definite about the issues we value.....We had Gore and Kerry, 2 democrats that were not the best candidates and I was not comfortable that they were electable....held my nose and voted for them. I am not doing it again. I said to myself after Kerry, I am never doing that again...I truly do not believe Obama is electable in the general.

We have been told repeatedly he can win without us. Why, all of a sudden, is there this clamor for wanting to know what we will do?

Could it be that some won't vote for him not out of spite, but that they don't feel he's qualified?

Your Opinion is as worthless as the votes in Florida and Illinois

Opinion is not fact! Means nothing, it is about as worthless as the votes in Florida and Illinois.

there you have it.

I have met Hillary on two occasions, and at both times she has spend time telling us to back Obama if he is the Nominee.
She believe it is critical, vital, to have a Democrat in the office and she said she would campaign "vigorously" for Obama.
I believe her.

Will Obama campaign vigorously for Clinton?
Michelle Obama will not.

Sharpton will riot if Hillary is the Nominee.

So there you have it.......

That old Politics that Obama does not like, includes loyalty to the party, team playing and that part of the old stuff, is Clinton.

A true Democrat...........

you do know they... DNC and all Dems are gaining more Democrat base with each state that has a play in these Primaries. They, the states, are motivated to be involved.....

This will benefit the GE...... Republicans are not building their base.
Re: there you have it.
By Deborah Williams May 9th 2008 at 3:37 pm EDT
and you have nothing to base that on.

You have not read that Michelle would not support HRC. That's just your excuse to have a reason to stay ticked off.

If you are as proudly dem as you say you are, then stop playing games and walk the talk.

When Michelle was asked by a reporter, not a staffer, if she would support Clinton if she was the Nominee?
She said, "I will have to think about it"
It was immediately after Bill Clinton
By Hollywood May 10th 2008 at 5:35 am EDT
had made some rough comments about her husband. She was pissed. I would have been, too.
Michelle Obama
By Hollywood May 10th 2008 at 5:34 am EDT
She has a job and two young children, you know. It's not like she's a professional politician with a lot of time on her hands. She's also the family's main bread-winner.

When Bill Clinton ran for POTUS, how many of the wives of other candidates did you insist give up their lives to go out and stump for him?

Eleanor McGovern? Jane Gephardt? Niki Tsongas? Eunice Wilder? Ruth Harkin? Matilda Cuomo? Beryl Bentsen?

bitter voters?
By ihaveavoice May 9th 2008 at 3:37 pm EDT
No and that's what will cost the dems the election. For many people it's not that easy crossing over and what they say today may be out of emotion but comments like bitter voters will be on their mind when they cast that vote. let me tell you something, stand in your office and if you are a lifelong member of the democratic party most everyone in your life knows you are. So when you stand there and say your voting republican, people listen to that. That's alot of power in the decision and for people to get to that point to make that decision it has alot more to do with issues, common values and beliefs and valid fears and concerns, not bitterness.

I see a candidate who has enjoyed unprecedented positive media, I see a candidate who has outspent his opponets by millions and millions of dollars and he is barely winning. I see decisions this party made from polling places and silencing voters, and superdelegates being paid to bring us to this nominee. How is voting for a candidate who reached his nomination in the way Republicans conduct business helping the party? By turning the other cheek we are telling this party go ahead and strip voter's right whenever you want, go ahead and silence us. Go ahead and turn the other cheek when AA delegates are threatened. I can't condone that, especially when I am all but convinced I am the american that will be taxed and taxed and taxed to pay for all these programs of the demographics he has courted. There is no one else LEFT to tax except white, middle class working americans and gays and seniors. The demographics he can't win will be the ones to pay for his agenda. Why would I vote to make things harder on myself?

Take a good long look at McCain he is going to be much more formidable then you imagine na dhis choice for VP will probably win him the election.
....

again, you make your decision, you have to live with it. there is no amount of justification you can offer to make it legit.

congress can keep him in line.
And, he too will bring troops home when he sees that his turn at winning fails.

believe what you want, but I not trusting a repub to do the right thing, least of all McCain. And stop making excuses.

Hillary's supporters
By Darlene (DEC) May 9th 2008 at 3:43 pm EDT
are not done supporting her, we haven't given up on her and she hasn't given up on us.

Once a nominee is chosen we will see where everyone's head is. Emotions are running very high on both sides. Of that there can be no dispute. Obama supporters are putting forth the same philosophy. They wouldn't support Hillary if she is the nominee. Both sides need to stand back and let this process play out.
Re: Hillary's supporters
By Deborah Williams May 9th 2008 at 3:48 pm EDT
You want to know why that is? Because on both sides - we have punched each other silly. Can't even have a rational conversation anymore. Not without someone going over the top.
Re: Hillary's supporters
By Democrat in Valley Village, CA May 9th 2008 at 3:50 pm EDT
His base will lose more not supporting Hillary and allowing McCain to win.......... the poor and lower income middle class always pays the price of a Republican Administration.

I am not all that poor..or lower middle class. In fact Obama's plan to raise Captial gains from 15% to 28% will hurt me.

You see..... it is easier for me to vote McCain than Obama.

Hillary will raise it %15 to 20%

McCain won't raise it.
Re: Hillary's supporters
By Deborah Williams May 9th 2008 at 3:55 pm EDT
well now you have your excuse. vote for McCain.
Re: Hillary's supporters

thanks. but there are other issues.....

The best one for me is Clinton.
