My Daughter assured me this evening that, however the election turns out in November, it will be God's will. I'm not so sure I totally believe that God stands at our shoulder in the voting booth and jars our hand...but... Then I wonder. The Muslims believe their god, Allah, is better than our God, at least, as we see Him. If the Muslims want Obama to become President...and he does...does that mean Allah is truly stronger than God? What strange things we think of in the middle of the night when we should be in bed...

Wow...now I really do have insomnia!! What scary thoughts!!

Maybe God intends that Americans and the Middle Eastern people like Iran should sit down together and come away friends. In that case Obama is right...we need to talk to them.

Or, maybe God intends for America to disarm Iran so that we don't have to face the end of the world by nuclear war...in that case we'd better vote for McCain.

Wish God would be clearer about these things and put them on tablets of stone, like he did the Ten Commandments...

Except

Obama is not a Muslim. Despite other things, this is a fact that needs to be acknowledged.

I do acknowledge that he says he is not a Muslim.

God is God

What you are saying imply there is more than one God. There is not.
There are more than one avenue to God but it is the same God.
People try to use God to divide us like you tried.

People divide us God does not.

Down, Boy...I have no intention of dividing anyone....

But you are making implications like you are.

I kind of like you are treating me like a horse just do not mess with God.
Sorry about the horse thing...

Not sure why you like it...but that's okay. Actually, that's what I tell my dog...and he is my buddy.

Make no mistake. I know there is only one God, and only one Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to forgive me of my sins...even the sin of sitting at the computer in the middle of the night writing silly blogs.

I too believe in Jesus Christ but i feel there are those who have never known Jesus but still know God.

There are many avenues to God. Jesus is the son of God. If you know God you know Jesus. You may just know it.

If you know God, then you know, and believe in, the Holy Trinity -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are one. At least that's what us old-fashioned Methodists are taught. :)

what's with all the fear crap? And yes, that is what this is, just like your other posts on this topic.

Fear? Let me think... No, fear is not the word for it. "Amazement" is probably the better word for what I feel when I learn that when I'm in church on Sunday morning listening to the pastor lead us in the Lord's Prayer, the black folks are listening to the Wrights and the Phlegers damning America and white people--and then telling people that it's perfectly okay and normal for black folks to feel that way...that they have a right to hate me because, you know, slavery. And that Wright and Pfleger are correct...white people must be stripped of the benefits we gained from having ancestors who lived in America during slavery.

On the other hand, "fear" is what I have when I think of what could happen when, a few years down the road we find out that we have made a huge mistake.

the opposite of Love/God/Good is NOT Hate/Devil/Bad
the opposite of LOVE/God is FEAR
FEAR IS AT THE ROOT OF HATE

FEAR that I am not going to get what I want
FEAR that I am going to loose what I have
RE-actions due to fear

When you are IN FEAR-----YOU ARE NOT IN GOD
Wow!!

Dinah does the word bigot mean anything to you?

Bigot -

1) n. bigot: A bigot is someone who holds predefined negative views about a class of people. Examples include anti-Semites, homophobics, racists, religious extremists of any religion.

2) adj. bigoted: A bigoted person is one who is a bigot. Can also be used to describe an opinion.

Or maybe...

Racist -

1) A label given to a person, or group of people who hate/dislike those who belong to a different race. This typically applies to hatred based on skin-color.

2) Someone who thinks that people of other ethnicities or cultures are inherently inferior to one's own.

you'll find both here Link

Oh, and before anyone says one word that I'm saying this to her because she is for Hillary, YOU are on the wrong track. Look at Dinah's posts, especially on Muslims.

You know
By illinoismel Jun 7th 2008 at 2:21 am EDT
I know there is a supreme being. I think many of us can agree with this. The supreme being I believe in is the Spirit of the Universe. I have an issue with a god telling me the people of Burma will not be accepted into heaven because they believe what they do. This is just one example of what I believe and am open to discussion.

Very well said, Mel. It would seem to me that the universe does not dictate on good or evil because they're not absolutes. The universe is far more harsh than that. The universe is not a decisive being that counts hairs on our head and wants us to love it/him/her.

A pedestrian that meets with a dump truck head on and loses - this is not God's will here, it's just physics (65% water, 155 lbs. versus 4400 lbs. of solid steel traveling @ 40 mph). Time is the only relative and dimensional space remains the variable.
