How can someone of you vote no matter who the candidate is as long as they are so called the "Democratic Nominee". I could name a lot of names and you would sound kind of silly to go for them; but that is basically what you are saying. When did people stop caring about the quality, morality, responsibility, good judgement, showing patrotism (including our " Betty Ross" Flag), untrustworthy associations with people who truly do not love America, secret meetings (not meant for public ears, etc. of the Democratic Candidate? Do the things just not matter to you? Unless you are the wonderful young voters that I am proud we have on board, how can you deny our country was doing GREAT when Bill CLinton was the President? If the young people knew this, they would and could be just as excited for Clinton; but no one has informed them, like the certain "Obama" networks. I feel like it was and is the networks responsibility to be fair and just to all candidates so that everyone has the information that they need to make their own responsible choice. This was not done. Doesn't any of these things mean anything to some of you? I just do not understand? We have some very passionate people her on this site; but I just feel like some are just so blinded. At least, admit things were good for most of us when Bill Clinton was President. Think about it. Hillary helped and was so involved during those years. I know I lived better, as well as my kids. Now, I am a struggling, paycheck to paycheck parent trying so hard just to make it without healthcare, etc. I just cannot figure you guys out? Believe me, I have tried. What has happened to this party, when we at least cared about WHO we were electing for the good of America?

My thoughts exactly Rubymom. We have become a bunch of sheep who would jump over a cliff if told to do so by our party leaders.

Iraqi war, women's right to choose, the economy, 47 million Americans without healthcare, Iraqi war, America's standing in the world, homeless vets, Iraqi war, Supreme Court Justices, education, illegal wire-tapping, Iraqi war, gay rights, military budget, Bush's Tax relief for the Country's wealthy, the Iraqui war............

PS- I'm 54 years old, have voted since 1972 and was around for Nixon, Reagan, Watergate, the Kennedy and King murders, etc.
I'm a DEMOCRAT for a VERY GOOD REASON and that reason is NOT that I'm a sheep blindly following a party line. Our Party is the people's party - that's why I'm a DEMOCRAT and PROUD of it!

Then tell me WHY some of the people do not care about electing the right one?
Re: Hello?

The Communist Party was a "People's Party" too. So were the Nazis. And both those parties had the support of the "people".

Hello? We could be in alot MORE trouble if the wrong person is there for the wrong reasons! I stand on what I just asked. Yes, we need a (what I call ) Democrat in the White House; BUT the wrong one could do more damage. Oh My Goodness.

I can't wait to see who McCain picks for the upcoming Supreme Court openings. Oh My Goodness.

Inexperience, vague replies about issues, association with America haters, white people haters, bombers, reparation supporters. A man we know nothing about and a "first lady" wannabe who says she is not proud of America, that Americans are "broken", that America is a "mean" country.

You want more?

It is very interesting how the turn of a phrase changes its meaning. This unfortunately is a problem we have been facing in this primary season. Phrases that have been turned to suit or support ones own aurgument.
Re: Hello?
By Rubymom May 9th 2008 at 1:28 am EDT
I wasn't changing any phrase to suit my purpose. I am asking you seriously. Do you really think that just the word Democrat, with ANY person will help our country. OR, could it be Only the right person, who is hopefully the Democratic nominee.

Very interesting question.

You are a great, intelligent, responsible person. I can tell by your responses. You are going to be a great leader for this country in whatever field or area you decide to go into. We need more young people like you to get involved in our society. LOL

T'a'a' iiyisi ahe'hee Maam,

I pray the Great Spirit Grandfather will make it come to paass. I will settle to be a humble public servant for the people and not my pocket. I was told that honest public servants do not last long, because they all fet corrupted by money and power. that to survive in the public service you are forced out if you do not bercome part of the vicious cycle. I pray the Great Spirit will help me prove them wrong.
True it is money and power corrupt, but only if you allow it.
By forgetting your humble begining and the goal you set for yourself.
My goal is to be fair and honest, not deviate no matter what happens. Money does not buy integrity if you chose not to betray the people.
Better a poor humble public servant than a wealthy hypocritical proffesional politician.
If I were to sell my integrity I would be dishonoring my Native American Ancestors.
I would preffer death over shame.

Sleeping like an infant, he is stable, I have to check on him at 2:00 A.M for his pain medication, and the other meds that he has to take for his condition.

I watch over him 24/7, I was allowed homestudies for the balance of the school year, so I can help my grandma tend to him.
When he awakes I will let him know. T'a'a' iiyisi ahe'hee

When the alternative
By Maggie May 9th 2008 at 1:06 am EDT
is not someone you can vote for and you believe it is your responsibility to exercise your right to vote, you do what you have to do. The right to vote was hard won by many before us.

My grandpa and all those that have survived previous wars will back you up on that Sir, Maam.
Too many americans to count that gave their life for that right prior to 4,057 more KIAs from the present war in Iraq.

Very well said, Dine. We should always carefully consider who we vote for because our ancestors have died to make sure you and I have that right.

Bill is not running
By Pale Rider May 9th 2008 at 1:56 am EDT
In case you have forgotten. But, I am not young and lived through those days when Bill was president as a working professional, making good money. Yes, I was very happy with the way things were going. But, I knew who was responsible for our economic high times then and I still know: Alan Greenspan. For people who have no, or a limited, understanding of how the economy works, it looked like Bill Clinton was the genius that brought us the prosperity. But, for those with more knowledge of what was going on, who know how the stock market works, who realize that the prime rate controls the stock market to a great degree, we KNOW who held the keys to the mansion. It was not Bill. Greenspan made credit readily available, that sparked the economy to grow. The internet was in its infancy, showing promise of a bright future in online business transactions. Lots of startup companies were invested in if they had anything to do with the internet. Their stocks would climb to enormous heights before they ever sold a single widget. Stock funds climbed to as much as thirty times their initial value. Everyone felt rich because their 401ks and investments were going through the roof. They felt like spending more, so they DID spend more, creating real capital gains for a wide segment of our economy.

What those people feeling rich forgot was that all their gains were just on paper until they got OUT of the stocks or funds. Then, Greenspan saw this irrationality on the part of investors and tightened up credit. All of those paper gains people though they had? Gone in the wink of an eye.

Bill made a fine, but singular, contribution to the boom times: he worked to have a balanced budget, creating the budget surplus that George W. Bush inherited and squandered. I strongly applaud him for that achievement and that achievement alone.

Hillary helped, you say? By her own words, she WATCHED as Bill handled the tough issues. That was from her own mouth, so to speak, since it came from her book.

You speak of being blinded and I can say that I agree with you 100% concerning some who back both candidates. But, I cannot understand their willingness to allow this country to be the victims of their spite and hatred as so many are saying they intend. They want their candidate and no one else no matter what the consequences of their candidate's failure to secure the nomination. Then, they want to blame the party instead of themselves or their candidate. And you want to know the REALLY sad part? They blame those who support the other candidate for their refusal to back that candidate. ??????????????????????? "Damn that person's stance on the issues. It doesn't matter that their stance is very much like my own candidate's stance. I don't like his/her supporters, so I won't vote for him/her, EVEN if my candidate supports that one." What a totally assinine way to vote for a presidential nominee!

The Clinton Years Were Very Good Times In America....
By William Bain - Democrat in Flushing MI May 9th 2008 at 2:03 am EDT
President Bill Clinton was one of our country's greatest presidents. During the Clinton years in the White House this country experienced 8 years of prosperity. The economy was booming, energy costs were reasonable, we had a goverment surplus, and long term plans for funding social security were actually in sight. Bill Clinton was a very good president. And even as First Lady, Hillary Clinton was very proactive going after reforms to health care, and being a voice and advocate for the millions of uninsured Americans. But, It was the Republican controlled House and Senate that fought us, tooth and nail against any type of health care reforms back then. A great many of us, remember the Clinton years in the White House and we remember the strong leadership of the Clinton presidency....We also remember the fact that; Senator Hillary Clinton has always been a fighter for the middle class, and for the average American; that is why so many us, wholeheartedly support her to be our next president. Why there are so many demeaning comments towards one of our greatest presidents, President Bill Clinton is that a lot of those negetive comments are coming from the twenty something year olds, who simply don't remember; a lot of them were 10 years old when Bill Clinton was President...And there is just plain a lot of disrepect out there. I believe if John F. Kennedy were alive and supporting Hillary, that some of these same twenty year olds would be knocking JFK as well...

its an easy answer: we share values in common with eachother and that's what makes us democrats
By D. Tree May 15th 2008 at 6:03 pm EDT
Hillary said it herself: not voting or voting for McCain would be "an error," and she said she's gonna campaign vigorously for Obama if she doesn't get the nomination.

Why is that so hard to understand?

We as democrats share moral values in common with eachother. These values are not held by the GOP.

If you truly believe in the vision and values of Hillary Clinton, you would support our nominee even if that person is not Hillary.

One more thing: you repeated that things were great under BILL Clinton over and over again. That has no relevance to the person who is running for office, Mrs. Hillary Clinton. Who are you voting for, her - or Bill?
