I was not in love with Barak Obama. I did love his speech 4 years ago and thought to myself, one day he would make a great president, but, at the time, I never dreamed it would be this year, this time, this election, not against my Hillary!
Yes, I love Hillary Clinton. I love Bill Clinton. I do not care that he got a blow job in the White House. I do hate he lied about it. He should've just said, "Yes, I got a blow job in the hall off the Oval Office, so what!!", then no one could have said a damn thing about it, but Hillary. of course.
Some said Hillary stayed because she loved the power, not me, I say she stayed because she loved the man. I read her book. I read his book. One thing I say and I believe with all my heart, those two love one another and, it seems, they have since they met in college...since they started that conversation that hasn't ended.
When Big Bush left office there was a HUGE deficit, when Bill left office we had a surplus, now with Little Bush leaving office we have a HUGE deficit with no end in site. I think Hillary could have gone a long way in helping get that under control again. I believe she stands for the common man the way Bill did. The little people, the way the old democrats did. Seems the Bush Administration has broken the backs of the working middle class and the rich have only gotten richer the past 8 years while the country has gone in the hole.
The changes Bush has made in his environmental policies/clean air acts have gone backwards 20 years and only 1 animal has gone on the endangered species list, the polar bear, after Bush finally admitted there may be such a thing as "global warming". DOH!
Okay, back to the original topic, while I did not love Barak, I am not a PUMA,by a long shot, I will vote for him because, yes, I do believe that this country can and will endeavour to do great things under his leadership. I believe we can go green, we can make a change. We can decrease our dependence on fossil fuels, stop borrowing money from China to pay the Middle East for oil that's ruining our environment. When John Kennedy said we can go to the moon, we did. We believed in ourselves, because he believed in us. Barak believes in us and I believe we can do anything before anyone else in the world can, not be just more of the same....looking to the future and believing in something greater than ourselves.
I believe that Barak supports women's rights. McCain doesn't even believe in equal pay for equal work, not to mention the Roe vs Wade, Right to Choose argument. It's as if any MAN would have or should have a say with what a woman can or should do with her own body....as if he were going to have to answer to Jesus himself for what each and every woman decides. All the over turning of that amendment would do is move it to back rooms where more death and destruction would occur just like it did before it was made legal.
Me voting for McCain would be like me voting for Bush for 4 more years, and that I can not do. I see all the people around me and all those suffering around this country. Too many people have lost so much the past 4 years...heck, 8 years....a war that should've never happened.... not in Iraq anyway. Afghanistan war definitely should have happened.... Osama bin Laden would have most likely already be dead had Iraq not been invaded. Osama would've been dead years ago and everyone would've most likely been home, end of story. Fact of the matter is....Saddam and Osama hated each other and for Bush to imply they were co-conspirators is just insane....that whole weapons of mass destruction bullshit was just insane. The weapons he had used on the Kurds were the ones we gave him when we were helping him fight Iran! They weren't ones he had made!
McCain supported all this mess. He still does. I see him as a hawk, not a peace keeper. War should always be the last resort. I see him as an old fashioned and out of touch man. He scares me...especially when he says things like he thinks it would be okay if our troops stay in Iraq for 50 years!
Many things can be said about Barak, but I imagine the same things were being said about Kennedy when he was so young and inexperienced running for the Presidency. He was Catholic, that was different...he was very young...and he had big ideas and dreams.
I think it's time for this country to get behind someone who's young and believes in what America is and can be and should be! It's time to pass the torch. It's time to take our place among the respected in the world again, which is something we've lost the last 5 years. It's not been a proud 5 or so years for Americans.
I'm ready to be a proud American again, not the America who's let down the world with lies and deceit. But the America that's a leader in the world with honor, dignity, and respect.

Because, really, what did that have to do with the way government was being run...didn't hurt the way Kennedy or FDR ran anything did it? *wink*
