"Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama served as a paid director on the board of a nonprofit organization that granted funding to a controversial Arab group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a "catastrophe."

The Hamas / Obama's church bulletin story
By TexasDem Mar 24th 2008 at 4:45 pm EDT
Here's another link to the Hamas / Obama's church story where the Rev. Wright printed Hamas material for the church bulletin. When Obama was asked about it he reacted as if he never knew about it.

Not only that
By Hollywood Mar 24th 2008 at 5:28 pm EDT
the money paid by the Fund was for the salary of one community organizer.

The story tries to link that single grant in 2001 to an art exhibition the organization showed a few years later depicting images of the "catastrophe" of the 1948 war.

That is about the most tenuous link I have ever read
By Hollywood Mar 24th 2008 at 5:20 pm EDT
A non-profit organization which gives grants of millions a year to various organizations once gave a $40,000 grant to an organization which held an art exhibit which portrayed Palestinian life under Israeli occupation.

Here are some links to the Woods Fund. Knock yourself out.

Where did the lion's share of the Fund's money go that year? To FamilyCare, a program which provided health insurance to 30,000 working poor families in Illinois.

Next on the agenda: organizing the Illinois Coalition Against Predatory Home Loans. It provided legal and financial and other types of assistance to people who might lose their homes through foreclosure. SOUND FAMILIAR?? Thanks to Barack Obama, Illinois was one of the first states to introduce anti-predatory lending legislation.

"Paid in 2001" (over $3.5 million in grants). Under the caption "Community Organizing", one $40,000 grant paid "for the salary of a community organizer in a new initiative to develop leadership capabilities of Arab youth and women on Chicago's West Side".

You're an idiot.
