Where did the lion's share of the Fund's money go that year? To FamilyCare, a program which provided health insurance to 30,000 working poor families in Illinois.
Next on the agenda: organizing the Illinois Coalition Against Predatory Home Loans. It provided legal and financial and other types of assistance to people who might lose their homes through foreclosure. SOUND FAMILIAR?? Thanks to Barack Obama, Illinois was one of the first states to introduce anti-predatory lending legislation.
"Paid in 2001" (over $3.5 million in grants). Under the caption "Community Organizing", one $40,000 grant paid "for the salary of a community organizer in a new initiative to develop leadership capabilities of Arab youth and women on Chicago's West Side".
You're an idiot.
