Does Color of Skin REALLY Matter?

For some reason I can't get a straight response from any Obama followers on this question:

Does color of skin reall matter when choosing a candidate to be the next president? If not, why is it that the overwhelming majority of blacks in this country are choosing the black candidate? We have been told that color should not matter by yet when it comes to the black community, they don't have to play by the same rules.

I have answered your question

in other posts but will answer it again in hopes you finally read it. I am most certainly not ducking the issue.

African Americans are the most reliable voting bloc in the democratic Party. In two elections they voted overwhelmingly for Clinton. They were supporting Hillary until they decided Obama could, in fact, win the presidency, when they switched to him.

That is not anwering the question. You sound like Obama when asked a very simple question then diverts it.

What are you talking about? I answered your question as to why African Americans vote for Obama. Just because you don't like the answer is no reason to accuse me of diverting attention away from the question.

What part of "they voted overwhelmingly for Clinton in two elections" do you not understand? What part of "they are reliably Democratic" do you not understand?

They would not have voted for Obama if they didn't believe he had a very real chance to become the first African American president. If I was African American I would be very proud of his candidacy. I would vote for him above Clinton despite the fact that I had voted for Clinton before. Does that bother you?

I grew up with African Americans and include several among my friends. One of them is very reliable republican who has switched his party to democratic. why? Because he is proud as punch of having Obama to vote for. This is hardly "racist".

I don't accuse you of racism for supporting Clinton, so don't accuse anyone else of racism for supporting Obama.

Double Standards
By TexasDem Mar 23rd 2008 at 6:43 pm EDT
Isn't it weird how double standards are determining the outcome of this election? Blacks are not required to go by the "does color of skin matter" rule but everyone else should be made to feel as if they are somehow racist for not voting for a colored guy? Given the way Obama has been winning, there is no way anything good could come out of it if he actually becomes president. Double standards, maltreatment of millions of voters in FL and MI, etc.

It is you who has been injecting race into the discussion; no one else.

What do RULES have to do with who you vote for?
By Hollywood Mar 23rd 2008 at 6:56 pm EDT
Each person's vote is their own. I don't care who you vote for, so why do you care so much who I voted for? Why do you care who black people choose to vote for?

Do you think all the white people (and other groups) who vote for Obama vote for him because he's got black skin?

You're an idiot, but I don't really expect anything else from a Rush Limbaugh loving Republican.
