As many of you might already know, the Friday Forums partybuilder group is set up to catalog and archive discussions about issues important to us.

Last Friday, there was a great amount of discussion on the topic of gender discrimination, both within the group and also independently and in other groups.

While we had out ups and downs, in all it was a truly successful Friday Forum.

As promised, the Friday Forums group is compiling all on-topic posts published to the group, in an effort to promote a means of in-depth discussion and a source of future reference.

There were some great posts by people who participated in the forum but did not publish to the group. Please consider joining the Friday Forum partybuilder group and publishing your posts to the group so they can be included in the archive.

Some other suggested topics have been: "The Real John McCain," Taxes, Foreign Policy, Immigration.... and more.

What do you all think?

Thanks for your hard work on this D. My two cents on the August 1 discussion is taxes. How DO we pay for everything we want?

i think taxes is a great topic for r us to add ot the discussion forum: especially since it is one of our weakest points, and no matter how good our candidate is the GOP will continue to hammer at the "Dems will raise your taxes" talking point. We need to face into this wave head on and come up with some effective understanding of how to deal with this issue.

thanks D

for all your efforts and hard work

I will be unable to attend as I will be working, but I would sure like to see some education on not posting ALL their blogs to groups that don't have any interest in those blogs, and also, how to post to groups that would have an interest in that topic, whatever it is
I sure would like to be able to go to a group and research the blogs/information on the topic of that group
That can't be done now because there is so much extra stuff posted in them

thanks

btw
to make your job easier, I thought it was important that everyone participating in creating blogs for the Friday Night Forums, belong to that group so that all the blogs are checked to automatically go into that group blog so we can all go back and look.
I have really wanted to re-research the race blogs on the Friday Night Forum.

mmmmm well, maybe I am suggesting an education on blogging and groups and what they are for?
thanks again
{{hugs and fist bumps}} for a great evening and a job well done

thank you HS, that is the objective of having this moderated group.... so far the only way to keep groups on-topic is ny having moderators (and in this case a *team* of moderators is required because it takes time and effort to manage all the off-topic material that comes through each group!).

in the end, i think the site designers for PB could just get rid of the "publish to all groups" button when you are writing a post. that way people would be more selective about which groups they publish to!

BTW, didn't you post some blogs to last week's forum? did you by chance not publish them to the group?

I'll be posting a digest version of the racism forum as well, but i wanted to do this one first while its still fresh in everyone's mind.

best,
d. tree

thank you so much for your contributions Staten Island - we're working on keeping the group well organized... its a fun experiment that i think will yield good results.

if you happen to know anyone who posted on the forum topic but who has not yet joined the group (or didn't publish their post to the group), please consider reaching out to them and asking them to join & publish their posts to the group so they can be included in the summary!

best,
d. tree
