Republican Newspeak is once again on the campaign trail in full force. McCain and Palin are being promoted as “change agents” when the opposite is true. Just consider these facts on their energy plans and what you will see are another pair, just like George and Dick trying to ride the oil slick into the White House. I hope that Americans have the gumption this time to throw sand on their oil slick of a campaign trail.
MORE OF THE SAME OIL DRIVEN WASHINGTON AS USUAL
Drill, drill, drill is the forefront of their mantra for energy, and no wonder: U.S. oil firms have given John McCain three times more declared campaign money than to Democratic nominee, Barack Obama. Big oil contributions to the Republican Party outweigh oil money to the Democrats by a similar ratio.
EXXON JOHNS TIES WITH THE OIL INDUSTRY:For nearly 30 years, Exxon John has stood with Big Oil and voted against alternative energy. Just months ago, John McCain was the only Senator who skipped a vote on an energy bill to channel $13 billion in tax breaks for Big Oil into alternative energy development. The bill came out one vote short — but Exxon John’s friends in Big Oil came out one vote ahead.
John McCain is still playing energy politics the way they’ve been played for decades in Washington. Well-connected lobbyists and special interests get everything they could want while hardworking families get left behind. Let’s make sure the public knows John McCain really puts Big Oil first. EXXON PALIN’S STANCE AND TIES WITH THE OIL INDUSTRY:
Palin also stands behind the drill drill drill energy strategy.
But the Department of Energy believes that offshore drilling “would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030.” Moreover, about three-quarters of all the oil in public lands in the continental U.S. are already open to drilling – and yet only one quarter of this oil is under production. Opening the Arctic Refuge would cut gasoline prices by two cents in 17 years. For that, Palin would destroy the home of America’s native polar bears. Not even T. Boone Pickens still thinks we can drill our way out of this crisis.

Say "We need to drill, drill, drill!" out of the other.
Republicans speak with a forked tongue.

Now, to lay all the cards on the table, Barack said he was open to a compromise with republicans on drilling only as a trade-off for comprehensive energy reform, and only if we follow strict EPA standards.
We can work together to get things done, and that's what Barack is bringing to the table. The GOP, on the other hand, is bringing the same "my way or the highway - and BTW, the democrats are unpatriotic" tactics to the table.

Drilling in Alaska, with it's one pipeline will not save our NATION energy crisis.
